That night, Emily didn't sleep.

At 2:13 A.M., her laptop turned on.

She didn't touch it.

The black screen appeared again.

This time, there was no message.

Only a question.

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOUR FATHER FOUND?

Emily stared.

She knew she shouldn't answer.

But curiosity won.

She typed:

YES.

The screen went completely black.

Then:

RULE ONE: NEVER ANSWER A MESSAGE TWICE.

Emily frowned.

Another message appeared.

RULE TWO: NEVER SAY YOUR REAL NAME.

Then:

RULE THREE: IF YOU HEAR YOUR FATHER, CLOSE THE SCREEN.

Emily stopped.

She hadn't told the computer about her father.

The screen flickered.

A video appeared.

Her father was sitting in the same room from the photograph.

He looked exhausted.

He was staring directly into the camera.

Emily leaned closer.

Her father's voice came through the speakers.

"Emily..."

She covered her mouth.

It was him.

Exactly how she remembered him.

He looked directly at the camera.

"If you're watching this..."

He paused.

"...then I'm already gone."

Emily's eyes filled with tears.

Her father continued.

"There is something you need to understand."

He looked frightened.

"Whatever happens, don't believe everything you see."

The video glitched.

His face distorted for a moment.

Then returned to normal.

"Especially..."

He looked behind the camera.

"...if it looks like me."

The video ended.

Emily sat completely still.

Then she heard something.

A voice.

Behind her.

"Emily?"

Her father's voice.

Exactly.

She slowly turned around.

The room was empty.

Her laptop displayed one final sentence:

RULE THREE.

CLOSE THE SCREEN.

Emily slammed the laptop shut.

The voice behind her whispered:
