My interest in an internship stems mainly from my dream of becoming a writer. I love to write; I’ve been writing since 4th Grade, and I dream of becoming an author. With an internship, I would like to explore the different secrets and discoveries buried deep in writing. I know there is much more to writing than writing, and I would like to encounter these things during my internship. An internship will also help me gain some work experience. Up to this point, I haven’t had much work experience aside from volunteering at the Humane Society and at a horse barn, so I would like to gain some before I head off to college. Finally, an internship will help me discover who I really am. It will help me discover whether I really am meant to write.
I hope to improve my writing and communication skills through this program. I’m kind of a shy person, and I believe what I have planned for my internship will help me meet different people and communicate with them, rather than shutting down every time I see someone I don’t know. That’s what I currently do when I see someone new. I hope my internship will help me flush away this fear. Also, even though I believe I’m already a good writer, I know I still have a long way to go. Writing, from what I’ve learned, is a lifelong goal that you never want to give up on. Though I may not turn out to be as good a writer as J.K. Rowling and Ernest Hemingway were, I know I can improve my writing if I try a writing internship and share my skills with the community, since I’ve never done it before. This is my life, and I’m going to do whatever I want with it. Writing is my dream, and I’m never going to give up on it.
