Hours later, like way too many hours, we’re all finally done. We get to go back to our rooms, or, well, the lounge. We’re all sitting in a circle, talking about who we are on the team. Kai and I had told them before when we were walking back.
“I’m the team's pathologist, and honestly, I had no idea what that was, but it's cool,” Tyler says, shrugging.
“Well, I’m on the same team as Ty, so we do about the same thing, but I’m the Biomedical scientist for the team!” Evalyn says excitedly, obviously loving what she does. It’s interesting to see how excited some people can get about things.
“E, that sounds so cool! Well, I'm the team's E-Epidemiologist. I think that's how you say it?” Iria says, stumbling over her words.
“Yep! And that leaves me to be the team's Virologist.” Raymond says proudly.
“Well, now, since we all know who has what role, I was thinking that maybe about every two or three weeks, we all meet here and have a meeting to share what we’ve learned.” I propose, we all sit there in complete silence and take slight glances at each other until a yell breaks the silence.
“YOU IDIOTS! SHE IS MY DAUGHTER. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUST TAKE HER AWAY FROM ME. SHE IS MINE AND MINE ONLY!” Right as the lady speaks, I know, Sabrina, that wretched old hag has found me. She’s found me once again.
“Ma’am, I’m sorry, but you cannot just come barging in here. Since yesterday, she has been in the ownership and care of the royal family.” It’s Theo; he’s arguing with Sabrina.
“NO! SHE IS MY DAUGHTER!” I can just hear Sabrina’s shrill voice throughout the halls,
“MA’AM! If you take another step, you will be facing the consequences for trying to harm the royal family and will be forced back to your home.”
“I said NO!” Sabrina pushes Theo back, making him fall backward and hit the edge of the table. His head starts bleeding, bleeding excessively, while Sabrina starts running like it never happened.
“Theo!” Sam yells, running towards him, blood pooling all around him, turning his white shirt a deep red. The other guards start running toward Sabrina, and before she can do anything, they grab her arms and push her to the ground face-first. She loosens the grip a guard has on her and throws something, a dagger, one made with arsenic and thallium, right at me. Before I can react, the dagger hits my upper arm. I shriek at the top of my lungs, it almost sounds like it could pierce stone itself, just as the dagger pierces my arm. I fall to my knees, but instead of sitting there feeling the pain, I get up and run towards Theo, the others following me. He got hurt way worse than I did, and he’s hurt because of me. While I’m running to him, I yank out the dagger and wince back at the pain. I fall to my knees when I reach Theo.
“Theo! Oh my god.” Sam is holding him, all bloody, his head bleeding uncontrollably. Forgetting my pain, I move his head to my lap and ask Evalyn to give me the cloth in her hair. She hands it to me, and I wrap Theo’s head up. Before I say anything, Ty comes over and picks him up,
“I’ll take him to the medical wing, and Isha, you need to come too,” Ty says
“Alright,” I respond. I start to stand up, but before I get up fully, I my mind goes fuzzy and fall backward. Before I hit the ground, Kai catches me and picks me up,
“Looks like the little Angel needs some help,” Kai says in a cocky but caring way.
“N-” My body starts to feel weak and before I can say anything a wave of exhaustion and tingling comes over me. My eyes become too heavy to keep open, my limbs sore with bruises from incidents weeks ago, my mind too clustered to think, then everything goes black, I feel my muscles relax, and my mind clear of all the world's problems.
