I run as fast as I can, adrenaline rushing through me, Isha in my arms, her face as white as snow, even though it’s usually the amazing color of sand, and her perfect hourglass figure weightless, almost lifeless, and it will be if I don't hurry. I run through the corridors with Tyler right behind me, holding Theo. I might not like him, as he’s supposed to be with Isha all the time, but if something were to happen to him, my little angel would be devastated, and that can’t happen. I quickly turn the corner, almost crashing into the prince.
“Oh, Kai, what are you-” Raj looks at my arms and back at me, alarmed.
“What happened!?” he yells, like he cares. It’s almost as if he loves her.
No, don’t think that. He just cares, just as any person would
“Some hag got to the dorm lounge, made a big fuss, and threw a Thallium and arsenic dagger at Isha.” I quickly say, “I need to go!” I dash across the hall, not realizing it, but Raj is also following me. I run till I get to the medical wing, and a short old lady in a white coat and pink glasses stands there looking at some papers. She suddenly looks at me and runs over.
“Oh, my! What happened here!?” the old lady asks, concerned.
“She got hit with an arsenic and thallium dagger, and it’s already entered her bloodstream!” I say, so concerned I feel as if I might throw up.
“Alright, set her down and wait outside. I’ll let you know when you can come back inside.” She shoos me away, but then Tyler bursts through the door with Raj and Theo in his arms, and before the old lady can say anything, Tyler yells,
“He fell backward on the edge of the table and has a deep wound, and he’s been bleeding for ten minutes!”
“OK, set him down.” She says, patting a bed. “Now you boys can wait outside.” We stand there for a second, looking at her, too shocked to move.
“NOW!” she yells, and we all run out the door.
We stand by the door, Raj being the closest and Tyler the farthest. Raj keeps looking over his shoulder and looking at me, slightly stepping closer every time. We both look at each other, giving death stares. Tyler, feeling the tension from us, started slowly moving away until he was a table away from us. We stare at each other for another minute before I decide to say something.
“So, when’d you two meet?” I say, hoping it hasn't been for long.
“Oh, us, we met about, yeah, about a week before I met you.” A wave of relief washes over me. “What about you two? You seem close,” Raj says in a slightly irritated voice.
“Oh, we met when you took us to the castle,” I say, wishing I had met her sooner.
“Oh,” he says with a sigh of relief and slight confusion. We both go back to giving each other a cold stare when the old lady opens the door.
“Edith! How is she?” Raj yells before I can even open my mouth.
“Oh, dear, don’t you worry, she is completely fine, good thing I had some Prussian blue in the cabinet. And Theo is also completely fine.” Edith says thankfully, and this time, before Raj can say anything, I speak.
“Can I go and see her?!”
“Sure, go ahead.” Raj and I start to head to the door, but she interrupts
“One at a time, boys. Kai, go ahead. She asked for you after all.” I turn to Raj with a cocky look, serves him right, she’ll never want him.I turn to the door and quickly go inside, walking to Isha’s bed. She’s sitting up looking at a notebook, with a bandage on her arm, her wavy black hair down to the middle of her back, and she was looking as if she were a full-fledged princess. Her head quickly jerks up.
“Kai!” She says a bit loudly.
“Y-Yes?” I say, slightly worried that something happened.
“Can you please tell me what I looked like, how I felt, like temp, and anything else useful!” she says in complete wonder.
“Um, sure, but why?”
“It could help us with the cure, and if I were to ever come across someone who has arsenic or thallium poisoning, I could help.” I look at her sincerely,
“You are an angel,” I say under my breath. She tilts her head to the side.
“I’m sorry, what did you say?”
“Oh, um, sure!” I say, I start to explain it to her till Raj barges in.
“Isha! Are you ok?!”
“Oh! Raj! Yes, I’m fine, thanks for asking.” Isha says joyfully.
That bastard, he thinks he’s something special, trying to get close to my angel.
“Raj,”
“Yes, my dear?”
“Are you okay? You look like you're hyperventilating.”
“Hm? No, my dear, I’m fine, thank you,” he says reassuringly.
Too bad, I wish you were. Edith, the old lady, enters the room.
“Are you two still bothering the young lady? Both of you, get out and let her rest.” Edith says firmly. We both head out of the room. Raj goes back to wherever he came from, and I head back to the others.
