“Working together, the group escapes from the cave-in with the treasure but learns that Hinata injured her leg. After realising that Naruto and Kiba argue too often while Hinata worries for the others too much, they head into town to stop their copies. The group outwits and defeats their copies except for Naruto, who uses demon fox chakra-fueled shadow clones to defeat his copy because his copy was running up a huge debt under his name and ate all his food (including some ramen he was saving for a special occasion). Naruto’s copy also accidentally bumped into Sakura, who was walking out of the library with an extremely tall stack of books. The copy then ridicules Sakura for being such a klutz, which angers her and leads her to unknowingly punch the real Naruto. Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata learn that the mission was a test to see if they could work together as a team and that they passed it. Tsunade becomes upset when the “treasure” turns out to be a bill for services rendered.”

Analysis
The episode showed how the team realised the value of teamwork. In other words, the episode was centred on the importance of teamwork and how each of them realised their flaws and managed to find ways to tackle them. The following scene takes place in the limestone cave.
The episode starts with Agari and the impostors telling the genin about their plans to destroy the Leaf Village, and since the genin is aware of their plans, they set paper bombs in the ceiling and plan to set them off as soon as they leave. Naruto assumed that they were sent by Orochimaru to destroy the village, but he later realised that it was just a test.
Moreover, if the enemies seemingly destroy the leaf village, the genin keep in mind that if that happens, people will think that they destroyed the village, which would probably force them to become rogue ninjas like Orochimaru, hence their plans to escape the limestone cave. As soon as the enemies left, the paper bombs were already in the process of exploding, so Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata came up with a plan to leave the place.

1. Hinata’s Protective 8 Trigrams
After deliberating on what they could do to escape, Hinata suggested that she could use her protective 8 trigrams. Kiba agreed since they could use it to survive the collapse of the cave. Therefore, Naruto, Kiba, and Akamaru tried to break the ropes wrapped around Hinata’s body. After some struggle, they managed to break the rope, and at the same time, the paper bombs set off. As a result, the cave started to collapse, so before the rocks could hit them, Hinata used Protective 8 Trigrams: 64 Palms, which knocked out each of the rocks easily. Meanwhile, after witnessing the collapse of the cave from outside, Agari and his impostors leave and are on their way to the leaf village.
While the enemies left, Hinata and the rest survived the crash. She passed out on Naruto’s shoulder, and he asked if she was okay. Instead of responding, she blushed and seemingly passed out. However, Kiba remarked that she should cut their ropes first, and then she would be free to pass out if she wanted. So Hinata cut off their ropes using her kunai. Thanks to Hinata’s Protective 8 Trigrams, the team survived the crash in the limestone cave.

2. Naruto’s decision to take the treasure will help in the long run.
After Hinata cut off their ropes, the Genin realised the cave wouldn’t hold out for long, so they had to make plans to escape the cave as soon as possible. Thanks to Akamaru, he pointed out where the treasure was in the cave. Naruto decides to take it, and Hinata activates her Byakugan to see what’s inside. She just saw a piece of paper inside the treasure chest. Kiba at first didn’t see the point of Naruto carrying the chest; however, Hinata pointed out that it might come in handy since the fake Naruto doesn’t have one. This will help them differentiate between the real Naruto and the fake Naruto for the rest of the episode; it will also help Naruto find the fake Naruto, as I will show later in my analysis. Therefore, Naruto’s decision to take the treasure was a good idea on his part.

3. Kiba’s Fang Over Fang
While Naruto took the treasure chest, Kiba said to Akamaru that he would be the one to let people know that he was the real one, so he asked Akamaru to stick to him like glue, and he agreed. When the cave starts collapsing, Kiba decides to use Fang over Fang to create an exit for them to escape. So, he activated his jutsu with Akamaru, Men Beast Clone: Fang Over Fang, for them to escape. Although Hinata’s injured leg was giving her trouble, Naruto helped her until they reached the exit. Therefore, all of them managed to escape the limestone cave and are now outside the woods.
With Hinata’s protective 8 trigrams, Naruto decides to take the chest to differentiate himself from the fake Naruto and Kiba’s fang-over-fang. They managed to escape because of teamwork.

Kiba is the one who helps the team realise their flaws, and they come up with ways to tackle them.
When Kiba and Naruto realised that her leg was still giving her trouble, Hinata tried to act fine because she didn’t want to complain and slow down the team. As a result, a dialogue takes place among them where Kiba points out their flaws:
Hinata: I didn’t want to complain and slow down the team.
Naruto: Yeah, and how is that working for you?
Hinata: I didn’t mean to...
Kiba: Seriously, this is the very thing that makes us not so hot as a team, guys.
Naruto and Hinata: Hmm?
Kiba: Hinata worries too much about the two of us; meanwhile, Naruto and I always end up brawling with each other.
Naruto: Hmm, now that you mention it.
Kiba smirks: If we kept stuff like that in mind while we were out on missions, I think we would grow into a pretty awesome trio, don’t you think?
Naruto chuckles. Hey, it’s worth a try.
Hinata smiles: Yeah, you’re right.
Kiba said to Hinata, Okay, those guys need to be stopped. Naruto and I can handle that; meanwhile, you head back at your own pace. Be careful, your leg is still injured, so don’t push it.
Hinata: I won’t overdo it.
Naruto to Hinata: Here’s the plan, head home at your own pace, but be careful, that leg is still hurt, you know?
Kiba: Didn’t I just tell her that? Were you paying attention?
Naruto: Was that? I zoned out.
Hinata blushes: Thanks, Naruto
Kiba grabs Naruto’s collar and says, Come on, idea boy.
Afterwards. Kiba, accompanied by Akamaru and Naruto, left where Hinata said in her mind, “I won’t let you down.”
After they realise their flaws, they keep that in mind as they head off to the leaf village. While Hinata stayed behind in the woods, Kiba and Naruto managed to stop the impostors.

Kiba and Naruto arrive at the Leaf Village to look for Agari and the impostors.
Meanwhile, dramatic music plays in the background with a mix of electric guitar and drums as Agari and the impostors arrive at the gate of the leaf village. The two guards, or Jonin, didn’t notice anything suspicious, and even their ninja hound couldn’t detect anything unusual, which proves that their copying jutsu is impeccable and no one can trace it. So, they entered the leaf village. After some time, the real Naruto (with a treasure chest on his back) and the real Kiba arrived as well, letting the two guards or Jonin know that the previous guys who entered the gate were impostors. They were surprised because their ninja hound didn’t notice the impostors. As Naruto and Kiba ran inside to track the impostors, Kiba said to the guards, “They are so good, not even ninja hounds can smell the difference.” After realising the severity of the situation, the two guards, or Jonin, rush to let the Hokage know what’s happening. While they did that, the real Kiba instructed Akamaru to track Agari, and they eventually managed to track Agari and the impostors.

Kiba and Naruto battle it out with the fake impostors.
P.S. Please keep in mind that I will be specific about who is the real Kiba and the real Naruto and who is the fake Kiba, fake Hinata, and fake Naruto.
After the enemies realised they were cornered, the fake Naruto tossed a smoke bomb at the real Kiba and the real Naruto so that they could escape. However, the fake Hinata didn’t manage to escape. When the real Naruto saw her, at first, he thought the fake Hinata was the real Hinata. Yet he realised that they left the real Hinata back in the woods, so when he wanted to hit the fake Hinata, the fake Naruto punched him in the face instead, and the real Naruto fell to the ground. To cause further confusion, the fake Naruto puts on a show defending the fake Hinata, saying, “How dare you take a swing at her?” Afterwards, to cause more confusion, the fake Kiba arrives, and the fake Naruto says the real Naruto is the impostor. So, when the fake Kiba wanted to punch the real Naruto in the face, the real Kiba appeared and punched the fake Kiba in the face. What’s ironic is that when the real Kiba wanted to use Fang over Fang on him, the fake Kiba was already out cold. This means that the impostors can copy everything, but they can’t fake the genin’s ninjutsu.
Moreover, the real Naruto realised that when he got punched by the fake Naruto, it didn’t have that much of an impact. At that moment, the real Naruto and the real Kiba realised that those impostors were weaklings. This is evident when Kiba says to the fake Naruto and fake Hinata, “Hey, you, attacking the village was your big plan, wasn’t it? Fat chance, you guys are total weaklings!” After saying this, the fake Hinata and the fake Naruto ran away. The real Kiba said to the real Naruto that he would handle the fake Hinata while the real Naruto should handle the fake Naruto. Afterwards, Agari and the fake Hinata run away while the real Kiba pursues them. The real Kiba eventually managed to catch up to Agari and the fake Hinata. The real Kiba punched Agari in the face, and the fake Hinata just passed out on her own without Kiba needing to break a sweat. Kiba dealt with them quickly. Meanwhile, the real Naruto pursues the fake Naruto, who is running away.

Naruto taps into the nine-tailed fox chakra to defeat the fake Naruto.

What caused Naruto to tap into the nine-tailed-fox chakra was when the fake Naruto dared to eat the real Naruto’s ramen that he had saved up at his home. The audacity to go to his home and eat his ramen was disrespectful. As a result, Naruto wallows in his sorrows and gets angry, which causes him to tap into the nine-tailed fox chakra. Due to this, intense music plays in the background with an electric guitar and Japanese chants. Things get extremely serious when the real Naruto activates around a hundred shadow clones to look for the fake Naruto outside the Leaf Village because he crosses the line to eat the ramen he had saved up. He eventually finds the fake Naruto ordering food once again at a shop and having the audacity to put it on the real Naruto’s tab. When the shadow clones found him, the fake Naruto ran away for a bit, which caused the shadow clones to fight amongst themselves. It took the real Naruto to let them know that the fake Naruto doesn’t have the treasure chest strapped to his back. After the shadow clones realised that he was right, they managed to find the fake Naruto and beat him up. The real Naruto carrying the treasure chest has indeed come in handy to differentiate him from the fake Naruto, which is how he managed to stop the fake Naruto.

Kiba and Naruto tied up Agari and the impostors.
After they manage to capture them, a dialogue takes place between Kiba and Naruto.
Kiba: When it was all said and done, these four were nothing worth breaking a sweat over
Naruto: No kidding, do you think these chuckleheads are Orochimaru’s henchmen?
Kiba: Who knows? I’m sure the Hokage will tell us if they are, though.
Naruto: That’s true. Men, I’m beaten; guarding this chest around all day was tough on my shoulders.
As Naruto removes the chest from his back, the real Hinata arrives. Once she realised that the real Naruto didn’t have a treasure chest on his back, she assumed he was the fake one. As a result, Hinata used a gentle fist on the real Naruto, and he landed on the ground. Naruto just couldn’t catch a break.

The genin found out that all of this was just a test.
Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata learn that the mission was a test to see if they could work together as a team and that they passed it. Tsunade becomes upset when the “treasure” turns out to be a bill for services rendered. At the request of Lady Tsunade, Agari agreed to test the genin’s capabilities. To ensure the safety of the group, Lady Tsunade made sure that there weren’t too many risks to which the team was subjected. The worst-case scenario would have been that the team would have gone home with some cuts and bruises. All this time, it wasn’t real. Tsunade also said that since she knew that Kiba would have Akamaru, she enlisted the help of the Kedoin clan. With their hidden jutsu, their transformations are impeccable, down to the slightest detail. Afterwards, Agari gave the genin a pass since they managed to capture him and the impostors in the end.
Moreover, Naruto showed Tsunade the treasure chest and said the mission was accomplished. Tsunade said he shouldn’t have bothered, but Agari said he was glad he brought it because it contained a document for her. Afterwards, Agari and the impostors leave the village, where Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata say goodbye to them at the gate. The impostors will be back to normal after a couple of days.
Meanwhile, when Tsunade realised that it was the bill for the recent training, she was upset because the bill was expensive. She thought Agari was doing his service for free; however, she was sadly mistaken. The episode ends when Tsunade asks herself, What the heck was she thinking about becoming the Hokage due to the debts piling up?
The lesson from this episode is that when people work together, they are bound to have exceptional results, just like when Kiba, Hinata, and Naruto learned to work together, which made them pass Tsunade’s test.
