The following episode showed the relationship between Jiraiya and Naruto as a master and a student. There were also some hints about the Akatsuki and a bit of humour, which the audience might find entertaining. Moreover, there was also the dedication of a delivery ninja to deliver mail at all costs.

Naruto’s first encounter with a delivery ninja
The episode starts when Naruto has just finished a D-rank mission, which was a solo mission. He had to help rebuild a fortress in a certain area. He is tirelessly walking on a cliff around a mountain area, and his arms start to hurt. Along the way, he comes across a town that has hot springs, so he plans to take a rest there. While he contemplates that, a delivery ninja runs in front of him.
The delivery ninja almost got crushed by some rocks, but luckily, he managed to dodge them. However, in the process, he dropped his bag containing mail, which flew into the sky. Naruto then decided to activate his shadow clone jutsu to save the mail from falling to the ground. Naruto managed to save each of the mail before they fell to the ground, but there was one he couldn’t reach. Therefore, the delivery ninja jumped on top of each of the shadow clones until he saved the last one.
Despite that, Naruto and the delivery ninja fell off the cliff, where the shadow clones luckily saved the delivery ninja before he hit the ground. Afterwards, the delivery ninja thanked Naruto for saving him and the mail. Moreover, he introduced himself to Naruto as a delivery ninja. As the delivery ninja puts the mail back in his bag, he also says to Naruto that his delivery record must remain spotless. A dialogue takes place where Naruto asks him what a delivery ninja is and what his job entails. In response, the delivery ninja answered his question.
Delivery Ninja: A special service entrusted with the most important documents in parcels. We risk our lives to deliver them safely.
Naruto: So, you’re like a mailman.
Delivery Ninja: No! There’s a big difference. Mailmen don’t have to risk their lives, but we do.
Naruto (astonished and excited): I get it, so you’re a mailman who risks his life.
Delivery Ninja: Agh, never mind. Anyway, I have a schedule to keep and many things to deliver. I must be on my way.
Delivery Ninja leaves where Naruto said:
Naruto: Hey, wait, what’s your name?
Delivery Ninja (shouts): 596-03
Naruto: That sounds more like a zip code.
It was deliberate that the episode started by introducing a new character, the delivery ninja. From the dialogue, he has explained what his job entails, and he seems to be dedicated to his job since he said delivery ninjas have to risk their lives to make a delivery. This gives the audience a glimpse of what might happen in the episode, and as I go further, you will see the lengths and dedication the delivery ninja had to make the delivery to the Land of the Fang.

The relationship between Jiraiya and Naruto
Naruto finds Jiraiya with two women in a town, and Jiraiya makes excuses and puts off his training to write his Icha Icha script. Naruto eventually decides to ghostwrite it. As soon as the delivery ninja left, Naruto arrived at the town that had the hot springs. When he came across Jiraiya with two women in a town, he was shocked and angry to the extent that he said, “Pervy Sage!” At this moment, Jiraiya realised he was busted once he realised Naruto was calling him. Afterwards, they went to a room (probably a hotel room) where it was just the two of them.
Comic music starts to play in the background where Naruto is reprimanding Jiraiya, even though he is the student and Jiraiya is his master. While Naruto was reprimanding him, Jiraiya had a guilty look on his face. A dialogue takes place between them:
Naruto (angry): Well, Pervy Sage, you want to explain yourself? You’re supposed to be away from the village on some kind of important mission, and meanwhile, I’m just sitting there waiting for you to get back. Well, if you have this much free time on your hands, we could start my training right now!
Jiraiya: Hold on a second, Naruto; there’s a reason I’m here.
Naruto yells, Save it. You’ll just come up with some phoney story.
Jiraiya (defensive): It’s not like that; it’s research for my book. You see, I’ve almost finished writing the very last volume of make-out violence.
Naruto yells, That’s your big, important mission!
Jiraiya: No, but I am on a mission, and it is important, and that’s why I’m here.
Naruto calms down a little. Okay, what’s this mission about?
A moment of silence
Jiraiya (serious): Well, believe it or not, my sources tell me that someone from the Akatsuki organisation will arrive in this town sometime the day after tomorrow.
Naruto (astonished): The Akatsuki! Do you think it could be Itachi?
Jiraiya: I have no idea, nor do I have a clue what would bring them here, and I won’t find out until the day after tomorrow. So instead of just sitting around, I thought I would use the time productively!
Naruto (excited): Exactly! What a great idea, we can squeeze in two days of training
Jiraiya (reluctant): Um, yeah, that’s not really what I had in mind. You see, it’s this book. I promised my publisher I would get it off to them today or tomorrow, and they are breathing down my neck.
Naruto (begging): Oh, come on, I’ve been waiting forever to get in some training.
Jiraiya: Tell you what? You can help me while I finish it, and we might have time to squeeze in a little training.
Naruto ends up happy.
In the dialogue, it’s ironic that Naruto is reprimanding Jiraiya even though he is just a student and Jiraiya is his master. Therefore, their relationship is always funny in the sense that Naruto still calls him Pervy Sage, even though Jiraiya had told him before to stop calling him out. Their relationship is light-hearted and fun when they hang out together.
Moreover, in the dialogue, Jiraiya gives a hint about Akatsuki, who might arrive in town soon; hence, it’s reminiscent to the audience of the reason why he left the Leaf Village. He was sent on a mission to find information about the Akatsuki. Since Jiraiya didn’t let Naruto know at the Leaf Village, he decided to tell Naruto about his mission in this town. Therefore, if Naruto hadn’t come to this town, he wouldn’t have known about Jiraiya’s mission. Jiraiya played an important role in reminding the audience about why he left the village, which was to look for information concerning the Akatsuki. Moreover, while given the mission, Jiraiya took advantage of this to “cough cough” finish his book, and he doesn’t seem to want to train Naruto now since he gave Naruto false hope that if he helps him finish the book, he will train him.
For instance, he made Naruto massage his back while he was writing his book. He also instructed Naruto to make tea for him. Afterwards, at the hot springs, Jiraiya decides to do some more “research” while Naruto takes a bath. While Naruto was in the hot springs, he overheard a conversation between two men where they mentioned that they had to send secret documents to the lord of the fangs in time. They also mentioned a delivery ninja who’s in the area and can make the delivery. This is the same delivery Ninja Naruto came across earlier; hence, the delivery Ninja plays a role in delivering the secret documents, which eventually get mixed up.
Meanwhile, when Jiraiya did some “research,” he noticed that the women were old women, which left him disappointed. So, he begged Naruto to activate his Sexy Harem Jutsu to draw some “inspiration,” and due to this jutsu, Jiraiya passed out. Afterwards, in his room, Jiraiya recuperates while passing out on his bed. Naruto is present when he realises that Jiraiya hasn’t started writing his book, so that’s when he decides to ghostwrite it for him.
Naruto gets the manuscript for Icha Icha Tactics (English version, “Make Out Tactics”) mixed up with a peace treaty between the Fang and Claw countries. When Naruto finished ghostwriting the book, he stood outside his room holding the manuscript. While holding the manuscript, he saw the delivery ninja he had come across earlier talking to the two men from the hot springs. While he got downstairs, Naruto ended up slipping on the stairs, where he tripped and falling on the delivery ninja and the two men. As a result, the papers got mixed up, and the two men packed the manuscript instead of the peace treaty in the envelope. They then give it to delivery ninja 596-03 to make a delivery to the lord of the fang. At the same time, Naruto picked up the envelope on the ground containing the peace treaty documents and gave it to the delivery Ninja (596–03). However, since the delivery ninja was going to the land of the fang, he gave the envelope to another delivery ninja who looked like him and called 463-72 to do Naruto’s delivery instead. At this moment, Naruto didn’t realise that the papers had gotten mixed up.

Jiraiya and Naruto pursue Delivery Ninja: (463–72).
In the hotel room, Jiraiya, woken up by Naruto, finds out that the manuscript is gone. He got mad and said to Naruto, “Are you insane? What if they read that gibberish of yours? They will never let me write another book.” Once he realised that Naruto gave it to the delivery ninja (463–72), Jiraiya remarked that it was impossible to reverse the delivery because the delivery
ninjas were committed to their work and would not let anything stop them from completing their delivery. So, Jiraiya and Naruto head out to catch him and get the manuscript at all costs. When they ran outside in the woods, they ran faster to catch up with the delivery ninja since he was running at an enormous speed.
When they were running at a fast speed, Naruto started complaining, but Jiraiya said that he should think of it as training, an endurance test, so Naruto picked up the pace. Afterwards, Jiraiya and Naruto arrive at a village that looks like a maze. Therefore, to avoid wasting time, Jiraiya used Rasengan to break the walls, and they managed to spot the delivery ninja and chase after him. As they pursued the delivery ninja, they let him know that he had the wrong package. Unfortunately, even though Naruto gave him the wrong package, the delivery ninja is committed to his duty and will stop at nothing to complete his delivery, no matter what the consequences may be. So, to stop him, Jiraiya jumped in front of him and punched his chest. As a result, he fell to the ground, but when Jiraiya wanted to take his manuscript, he realised that it was the peace treaty document. At this moment, Naruto realised that the envelopes must have switched up and let Jiraiya know what had happened.
When Jiraiya read the contents of the mail, he noticed that it was a secret communication from the lord of the land of claws to the lord of the land of fangs. Jiraiya let Naruto know that the mail contained a peace treaty initiated by the lord of the land of claws, where he wanted to stop warfare with the lord of the land of the fang. Moreover, since Jiraiya’s manuscript is on its way to the lord of the Fang, he might think that the delivery sent by the lord of the Land of Claws is some kind of insult. In other words, it would mean war, for sure. So, they head off to the land of Fang to stop the package from being delivered. Meanwhile, Delivery Ninja (463-72) informs another delivery person through a signal about what happened to him. He also informed them that two men are about to attack Delivery Ninja 596-03, who is supposed to deliver mail to the land of Fang.
The delivery ninjas are way too dedicated to their work and follow rules, even if it means delivering the wrong package! It seems their job security heavily relies on making sure that their deliveries are 100 per cent. You will see that they are all just the same when Naruto and Jiraiya are on their way to pursue Delivery Ninja: 596-03, the one Naruto met at the beginning of the episode.

Jiraiya and Naruto pursue Delivery Ninja: 596-03
The two must chase down the courier ninja before he delivers the wrong package and incites war. Unfortunately, the courier is committed to his duty and will stop at nothing to complete his delivery, no matter what the consequences may be. Jiraiya and Naruto sail on a boat along a river that leads to the land of Fang. While they were sailing, they noticed other delivery ninjas swimming and pursuing them. While they were pursuing Jiraiya and Naruto, they cut off the oars Naruto was using to row the boat. Therefore, Jiraiya activated his Rasengan, which he used on the river to sail faster. He then instructed Naruto to do the same, so Naruto activated his shadow clone and used Rasengan in the river until they met the delivery ninja: 506-03, sailing on a boat. Jiraiya and Naruto tried to convince him that he got the wrong package and even suggested that he take a look at it, but the delivery ninja said, “Once a package has been entrusted to a delivery ninja 596-03, he is forbidden from ever opening it or examining its contents.” So, he has to follow the rules, even if it means the manuscript causes a war.
When they arrive at the land of Fang, dramatic music plays in the background with an electric guitar. Delivery Ninja: 596-03 warns them that he won’t let them interfere with the performance of his duty. When Naruto attempts to stop him, other similar delivery ninjas appear on the boat. All of them run and enter the lord of the Fang’s residence, which looks like a castle. Afterwards, Jiraiya asked Naruto who had once had the mail, and after some time, Naruto remembered that the man they needed was 596-03. Therefore, Jiraiya instructs Naruto to go after the man with the manuscript while Jiraiya deals with the other delivery ninja.

Naruto’s failed attempt to stop the delivery
When the delivery ninjas arrive at the top of the castle, they come face-to-face with Naruto. When Naruto stopped the delivery ninjas using Sexy Harem Jutsu: Swimsuit Edition, they all got distracted. Even Jiraiya witnessed this jutsu, which caused him to pass out and fall into the lake 😂. Despite the delivery ninjas getting distracted, Delivery Ninja:596-03 surprisingly doesn’t let himself get distracted by Naruto’s jutsu. So, he drags himself to where the guards of the castle are standing to make a delivery, while Naruto, disguised as a sexy harem, holds on to his leg, begging him not to make the delivery. When Delivery Ninja: 596-03 was unresponsive, Naruto called out his other shadow clones to hold on to him. Despite this, the delivery ninja still managed to drag himself to the guards of the Land of the Fang and hand them the package. Afterwards, Delivery Ninja: 596-03 blushed and passed out while the shadow clones disguised as harem disappeared, except for the real Naruto, who was back to his normal body. After the deliveryman managed to finish his delivery, Naruto said in his mind, “Unbelievable, this guy must be made out of stone.”
The resilience and determination to make a delivery despite the obstacles the delivery ninja faced are impeccable. It’s no wonder their deliveries are always up-to-date, which is why people rely on them to make deliveries, even if it’s sensitive information.
The wrong package eventually gets delivered, but peace is still made between the two countries, as the recipient was a fan of Icha Icha and happily interpreted the document as a peace offering. From a distance, Naruto and Jiraiya were spying on the castle using binoculars. They saw the lord of the land of the fangs sitting on a chair as he opened the mail. When he opened the mail, it was not the reaction Jiraiya and Naruto were expecting. The lord of the land of the fang said, “What is the meaning of this? The original manuscript of the next volume of the make-out serious”. This shook Jiraiya and Naruto, and while they were surprised, the lord of the land of the fang went on to say, “That lord of the land of claws, how could he ever guess my guilty secret? The make-out series is what I live for.” Afterwards, he instructed the guards by saying, “Send word to the land of claws that their gift has been received with thanks; there will be no war! I ought to be disturbed for the rest of the day.” 😂. After witnessing such astonishment, a dialogue takes place between Jiraiya and Naruto:
Naruto (annoyed): I’m not sure what just happened, but at least there won’t be a war.
Jiraiya (annoyed and complaining a bit): Yeah, that’s the good news. What about my reputation? That’s my manuscript, but with your gibberish in it.

Jiraiya left town.
Before the episode ended, Jiraiya left town. When Naruto and Jiraiya went back to town, Naruto woke up in the hotel room and was hoping that he would go with Jiraiya to meet Akatsuki, who was supposed to arrive in town. Naruto had high hopes that he would find information about Sasuke’s whereabouts. However, he realised that Jiraiya left a note on his bed that said, “Sorry, Naruto, but there has been a change of plans, and I didn’t want to wake you. I’m off to track the Akatsuki on my own”. After reading the note, Naruto fumbled over the paper and tossed it in the bin, frustrated, saying, “What a dirty little trick.” Afterwards, Naruto decided to take a bath at the hot springs, where he found something positive in his interaction with Jiraiya before he left. He said, “Well, at least I got some training in; that’s something, I guess.“.
The episode sort of ended in mystery since Jiraiya left to find the Akatsuki by himself. Who knows when he might have information about them? It will take a long time before he comes to the Leaf Village with information about the Akatsuki.
