The swirling, glowing spatial portal snapped shut, leaving Xavian "Deadshot" Voss standing on a high, rocky vantage point. As he lowered The Omega Reaver from his shoulder, he took in the breathtaking, almost surreal landscape of Planet X.
The scene before him was stunning, yet deeply unsettling. Massive, sprawling industrial lab buildings were actively being constructed across the terrain. Towering scaffolding, glowing energy conduits, and humming machinery dominated the horizon. Swarming around these colossal structures were thousands of identical, heavily armored figures working and patrolling with eerie synchronization. Of course, Xavian had no idea what Sentients were, but his tactical mind immediately registered them as a highly disciplined, dangerous military force.
Xavian brought the scope of The Omega Reaver to his eye, utilizing its cosmic-level optics to scan the horizon for any sign of King Kael. He swept the crosshairs past the industrial complexes and across the landscape, but the Requiem King was nowhere to be seen.
As he scoped out the area, Xavian noticed something bizarre about the planet's geography. Though he was unaware that Planet X had once been a sphere, Xavian realized that the world he was standing on was impossibly small—even smaller than a moon. Furthermore, it completely lacked curvature. It was a flat planet.
Calculating the distance through his scope, Xavian estimated that it would only take him around an hour of walking to reach the edge of the world. Since he had landed roughly in the middle, the entire planet was merely a two-hour walk from side to side. It was an incredibly small theater for a cosmic war.
Did I arrive before him? Xavian wondered to himself, lowering his rifle. No, that doesn't make sense. King Kael left Stellara Prime long before I did. He should definitely be here by now.
Suddenly, the hairs on the back of Xavian's neck stood up.
Before he could even turn, a devastating, force-heavy strike slammed directly into his side. The impact sounded like a cannon firing, sending the elite sniper hurtling through the air. He crashed heavily into a metallic bulkhead of an unfinished lab building, denting the thick steel.
Xavian coughed, his eyes darting up to see his attacker. Standing before him was a towering, heavily armored warrior radiating an oppressive, dark aura. It was a Second Generation Sentient.48Please respect copyright.PENANACigs33Jbxi
Character Name: Valor Aegis
Title: The Karmic Mirror Magic: Retribution Magic Generation: Second Generation Sentient
Sentient-Enhanced Abilities:
1. Karmic Reversal – The Mirror of Suffering: Valor’s signature ability allows him to absorb any fatal or catastrophic damage inflicted upon him and instantly reverse the exact physical trauma onto his attacker. The more lethal the strike, the more flawless the reversal, effectively turning his opponent's greatest attacks into their own execution.48Please respect copyright.PENANAXn10Jmfix4
2. Vengeful Execution – The Stored Wrath: Valor can store the ambient kinetic and magical energy of every attack he endures. When unleashed, he converts this stored pain into a single, hyper-concentrated physical strike capable of obliterating heavily armored targets or shattering defensive barriers.
3. Reflective Shift – The Mirror Step: Valor does not run; he reflects. By utilizing any reflective surface, energy blast, or even the glint of a weapon, he can instantaneously teleport across the battlefield, making his movements unpredictable and impossible to track with conventional vision.
Valor cracked his armored knuckles, his eyes glowing with an eerie, mechanical light. "Intruder detected. Commencing execution."
Xavian wiped a trickle of blood from his mouth, his eyes narrowing. "You hit hard," the sniper muttered. "But you're too slow."
Xavian didn't even reach for his rifle. With a mere thought, he commanded his sentient weapon. The Omega Reaver dismantled itself into pure cosmic energy, multiplying and shifting forms until ten heavy-duty shotguns materialized out of thin air, floating in a perfect arc around Xavian.
"Fire," Xavian commanded.
Combined with his Absolute Precision, the ten shotguns unleashed a deafening roar simultaneously. The spread of the cosmic bullets traveled faster than the speed of light. Valor couldn't even process the movement. The barrage of cosmic shrapnel tore through the Sentient, instantly shredding Valor's armor and obliterating his body into a mess of torn flesh and twisted metal. Valor was killed instantly.
Xavian sighed, preparing to recall his weapons. Target neutraliz—
Suddenly, a sickening, tearing sound echoed from Xavian's own body.
Xavian screamed as massive, gaping shotgun wounds spontaneously erupted across his chest, arms, and legs. Blood sprayed from his body as the exact catastrophic damage he had just inflicted on Valor was violently mirrored onto him. The sniper collapsed to one knee, clutching his bleeding chest in absolute shock.
Before Xavian's disbelieving eyes, the shredded remains of Valor reassembled in a flash of retributive energy, courtesy of his Karmic Reversal.
"Surprise," Valor mocked, his body completely restored. He raised his fist, glowing with the devastating, stored energy of Xavian's shotgun blast. "Vengeful Execution!"
Valor vanished using Reflective Shift, appearing directly above the kneeling sniper to deliver a skull-crushing blow that would end Xavian's life.
But Xavian’s brilliant tactical mind had already deduced the mechanics of the Sentient's power. He reversed the damage because the attack was directly linked to my conscious action. I pulled the trigger. I caused the effect.
As Valor descended for the killing blow, he suddenly froze. His eyes widened in shock as a cosmic bullet tore cleanly through the back of his skull, exiting through his visor and blowing his head completely off his shoulders.
Valor's headless body crumpled to the dirt, dead.
This time, there was no reversal. Xavian didn't suffer a scratch.
The sniper smirked through his pain, looking up at the sky. A single cosmic bullet was bouncing seamlessly between the steel beams of the industrial lab above them, having been fired moments ago.
Xavian had quickly changed the properties of The Omega Reaver to fit the counter. He had utilized Cosmic Ricochet. Xavian hadn't pulled the trigger to kill Valor; he had simply commanded the sentient gun to fire a shot into the environment. The bullet had bounced independently across the battlefield, calculating its own trajectory until it struck Valor from a blind angle. Because Xavian had not directly attacked the Sentient, the karmic link was broken, rendering Valor's reversal ability completely useless.
"Brainless," Xavian muttered, using his Temporal Reload to reverse the flow of time around his own body, sealing his gruesome shotgun wounds and restoring his health.
He recalled The Omega Reaver back into his hands, letting out a long exhale. He thought he was done, but as he turned to leave the alleyway of the construction site, his heart sank.
The sound of his shotguns had echoed across the flat planet. His cover was completely blown.
Marching toward his location were thousands of highly armed Sentients, their glowing eyes locking onto the lone sniper. He was entirely surrounded in the heart of enemy territory.
Xavian gritted his teeth, racking the bolt of his sniper rifle as he urgently thought to himself, Where the hell are you, Kael.48Please respect copyright.PENANA41yv956kNP
