The flat, metallic landscape of Planet X trembled under the synchronized, thunderous footsteps of thousands of highly armed warriors. The First Generation Sentients were charging directly toward Xavian "Deadshot" Voss. Though they were mass-produced, each one possessed a unique magical power and physical enhancement, their glowing eyes locked onto the lone sniper with lethal intent. Xavian gripped The Omega Reaver, his mind calculating the impossible odds of the approaching horde.
Suddenly, a dark, suffocating shadow dropped from the sky, crashing into the earth right beside Xavian with a heavy impact. The ground cratered, sending a shockwave of dark energy outward.
"Xavian, what are you doing here?" a calm but commanding voice asked.
Xavian turned to see King Kael standing beside him, his dark armor shifting slightly as his shadow aura flared to life. Without waiting for Xavian’s answer, Kael reached over his shoulder and drew his magnificent sword, officially named Bōkyaku (Oblivion). The blade hummed with a violent, void-purple light.
"Bōkyaku no Ryūgeki!" Kael commanded.
Swinging the sword in a wide, horizontal arc, Kael sent out a devastating, long black slash of concentrated shadow dragon energy. The colossal crescent of pure destruction tore through the battlefield, instantly annihilating the entire front line of the charging army. Hundreds of Sentients were vaporized into nothingness before they even realized what hit them. However, as the dust cleared, the sheer size of the army became apparent; thousands more were surging forward to fill the gap.
Lowering his rifle slightly, Xavian quickly explained the dire situation to Kael. He recounted the escape from the Eclipse Sovereignty’s dark plane, the revelation that The Judge, the 12 Elders, and the rulers of the 6 Kingdoms were all currently marching on Fort Vigilance, and his decision to seek out Kael to regroup and counterattack.
Kael’s eyes narrowed as he listened. "Things have changed immensely since I was last here," Kael noted, his voice grim. "Even though it has only been a couple of days, the balance of power on this planet has completely shifted. Vesper Noctis of The Eclipse Sovereignty is now in total control of the Sentient Army."
"Vesper?" Xavian asked, surprised. "What about Arion and Tenzin?"
"I haven't spotted them, nor can I sense their auras anywhere on the planet," Kael replied, his purple eyes scanning the advancing waves of armored soldiers. "They are gone."
Xavian racked the bolt of his sniper rifle. "So what's next?"
Kael tightened his grip on Bōkyaku. "With an army this size and Vesper pulling the strings, we will probably have to retreat and—"
Kael was abruptly cut off as a fresh wave of Sentients closed in, launching a barrage of elemental and energy-based attacks toward the two heroes.
In an extremely cool, effortless motion, Xavian stepped forward and raised The Omega Reaver from his hip. "I'm tired of these annoying bastards!" Xavian yelled.
"Phantom Barrage!"
Xavian pulled the trigger. Instead of a single bullet, The Omega Reaver fired a shot that instantly split into thousands of intangible, ghost-like projectiles. The phantom bullets traveled faster than the speed of light, passing harmlessly through the industrial rubble and defensive barriers before solidifying directly inside the chests and heads of the Sentients. In the blink of an eye, half of the entire Sentient army dropped dead in perfect synchronization, their bodies hitting the dirt with a collective thud.
King Kael lowered his sword slightly, genuinely impressed. "Well done."
Kael looked out over the remaining half of the army, which was now hesitating. "The forces in front of us are First Generation Sentients," Kael explained. "In terms of our power, they are nothing but ants. But make no mistake, they are still incredibly strong for regular mages."
Kael’s shadow aura flickered as he continued. "Then you have the Second Generation Sentients. If a First Generation Sentient's power level was a 0, a Second Generation's power would be a 10,000. They are still relatively easy for us to handle given our strength, but they possess extremely tricky, specialized abilities that can catch you off guard."
Kael’s expression turned dark. "But the Third Generation Sentients... they are the real problem. If a Second Generation is a 10,000, a Third Generation Sentient is a 1,000,000 or more. They transcend physical combat. They are nearly invincible."
Xavian’s eyes widened in shock beneath his stoic demeanor. Xavian then quickly scanned the area through his sniper scope. "Where is Vesper?"
"I don't know," Kael admitted, his eyes scanning the shadows of the industrial structures. "But he is somewhere around here."
Xavian lowered his rifle, an idea forming in his tactical mind. "Why don't we just destroy the planet? Since we're both already here and it's small enough, we can blow it to pieces and it would all be over."
Kael looked over at Xavian, a faint, dangerous smirk crossing his face. "That might not be a bad idea. But first, let me quickly wipe out the rest of these grunts. Then we can head over to the multiple labs scattered across the surface and destroy them so they can't rebuild."
With that, Kael rushed forward, his body dissolving into pure, shifting darkness.
"Abyssal Dominion Dance!"
Xavian stood back and watched in slight awe at the breathtaking display of a Ruler of the 5 Universes. Kael became an untraceable blur of movement, blending his blindingly fast sword strikes with absolute darkness. Every swing of Bōkyaku created jagged rifts in reality itself, and from those portals, countless shadowy weapons shot out, impaling the Sentients from every possible angle. The remaining half of the army was utterly annihilated in a matter of seconds, cut down by a majestic, catastrophic storm of shadow and steel.
Standing amidst the mountain of fallen Sentients, King Kael sheathed Bōkyaku and looked back far across the battlefield to Xavian. He raised a hand, signaling the sniper to come.
Not wanting to walk through the miles of carnage, Xavian simply aimed The Omega Reaver at the ground and fired a spatial round. A quick portal opened up beneath him, instantly dropping him right beside King Kael.
King Kael and Xavian wasted no time. They sprinted up to the perimeter of the nearest towering industrial lab currently under construction. Sentient workers swarmed the scaffolding, but Kael was already in motion.
Kael slammed his palm into the metallic ground, his entire body glowing with violent, dark magic. "Dark Dragon's Dominion!"
The earth fractured as an immense void opened beneath the facility. From the depths of the abyss, legions of colossal shadow dragons erupted into the sky, their roars shaking the very atmosphere of Planet X. The dragons descended like a storm of dark meteors, opening their maws to unleash absolute destruction upon the lab.
But suddenly, the air grew unnaturally cold.
Vesper Noctis materialized above the facility, floating effortlessly in the air. With a casual wave of his hand, he traced dark, glowing symbols into the sky. "Spectral Rune Cage!"
An immense network of shimmering, dark runes expanded outward, snapping into the shape of a massive geometric prison. The inescapable cage instantly trapped every single one of Kael’s shadow dragons, absorbing their destructive dark energy and sealing them away perfectly.
Vesper smirked, descending toward the two interlopers. But before his feet could even touch the ground, a deafening BANG echoed across the flat planet.
Vesper's right arm was violently blown completely off his shoulder, vaporized into a spray of dark blood.
He staggered, his eyes widening in sheer shock as he looked down at his missing limb. But the dark, abyssal energy within him immediately surged, and a new arm rapidly grew back from the stump, reforming perfectly in a matter of seconds.
Furious, Vesper vanished, reappearing instantly right beside Xavian. He pulled his newly regenerated fist back, preparing to deliver a skull-crushing blow.
BANG.
Vesper’s arm was blown off once more. He stumbled back, clutching his bleeding shoulder in disbelief as Xavian casually lowered the smoking barrel of The Omega Reaver.
"Watch where you try to put your filthy hands," Xavian warned coldly, racking the bolt of his sentient sniper rifle.
Vesper ceased his regeneration. He stood still for a moment, tilting his head at an unnatural angle. A sinister, terrifying smile stretched across his scarred face.
"Ohhhhhhh..........Kokū no Rūn Dai-hōkai (Void Rune Cataclysm)," Vesper whispered softly.
Normally an area-of-effect spell capable of erasing entire landscapes, Vesper condensed the cataclysmic energy. The very space around them began to shift and warp violently, but instead of affecting the entire area, the apocalyptic rune concentrated entirely around Vesper's remaining hand.
Without warning, Vesper used Voidwalk. He vanished into the fabric of darkness and instantly reappeared completely behind Xavian, moving with a speed that bypassed even the sniper's enhanced perception. He thrust his cataclysmic hand forward, completely catching Xavian off guard.
But King Kael reacted with unparalleled speed. "Twilight Riftwalk!"
Stepping between the realms of light and shadow, Kael teleported directly between Xavian and Vesper. He raised his blade, clashing head-on with the Kokū no Rūn Dai-hōkai. The catastrophic collision of void and shadow energy sent a blinding shockwave across the industrial zone, the sheer force of it threatening to tear the planet's surface apart as Kael successfully protected Xavian from the lethal blow.
Acting purely on elite combat instinct off of Kael's block, Xavian didn't hesitate. He raised The Omega Reaver, aiming it point-blank at Vesper's chest.
"Universal Erasure Shot!" Xavian yelled, unleashing his ultimate ability.
The shot fired with a deafening roar, a single bullet that transcended space, time, and dimensions. It landed cleanly on Vesper's chest, tearing through his dark defenses like tissue paper.
Vesper was instantly blown backward with terrifying force, crashing violently through the reinforced steel walls of the laboratory behind him.
Lowering his rifle, Xavian looked over at the King of the Requiem Universe. "Thanks."
"No worries," Kael responded smoothly, his shadow aura humming as he lowered his sword. "Did you get him?"
"Yes," Xavian confirmed, a confident smirk on his face. "That was my ultimate ability. It should have erased his life force entirely."
It was true. 44Please respect copyright.PENANA7hzuKPWUsV
