David Shyu holds an MSc in Computer Science and has over thirty years of experience working in the education sector.
As artificial intelligence transitioned from science fiction into reality, increasingly capable of replacing a vast majority of human labor, he began pondering a core question: “If AI can do almost everything a human can do, what is the ultimate value of being human? If a person loses that value, what does the future hold?”
In his view, pessimism offers no escape from the tidal wave of our era; the only answer lies in self-elevation. AI is, at its core, a tool—one that empowers individuals to accomplish things that were once impossible for a single person over centuries. When this omnipotent tool is paired with human creativity, it unlocks the potential for true self-improvement. Rather than fearing the impact of AI, humanity must learn to leverage it to expand the boundaries of life; this is the essential skill future generations must master.
Because of this perspective, rather than feeling overwhelmed by technology, he finds himself deeply exhilarated by the infinite possibilities that AI has unlocked.
