I find myself enjoying the works of amateur writers more than published ones, maybe it's the reader/writer interaction. But those works feel more like magic to me than the ones on my shelves.
Everything I write comes about from one (1) story I've been trying to write for years now. I would like to piece that story together and write it, but nothing feels right. So until I get all the pieces that fit, it's on hold :D
