The ancient ruins of the Myndos Gate had turned into a branch of hell in the pitch blackness of the night. The famous trench where Alexander the Great's armies lost thousands, where blood seeped meters into the soil, was now seething with a green and rotten light. An ancient war machine vomited from beneath the soil had awakened. The necromancy magic Nazir directed from Bodrum Castle had interlocked the skeletons of thousands of Carian and Macedonian soldiers at the Myndos Gate. Right in the middle of the trench stood a massive Amalgam (Bone Golem), the height of a three-story building, made of bones and rotted bronze armor. Plunging its massive arms into the soil, the Golem was trying to unearth the Seventh Port stone and bleed the ancient blood onto it. The eight-person death squad stationed on the hill looked impassively at the scene below. Fear had sunk to the bottom of the ocean along with Efsun off the coast of İçmeler. Now there was only an ice-cold hatred. "Look at that disgusting thing," whispered Okan, gripping his illegal combat wand. The runes on the wand glowed with a red heat, as if thirsting for blood. "No standard spell can take down that mass." "We left the standard spells in the Ministry wreckage," said Darius. He drew his wand as the hems of his robe billowed in the rain. That dull, black void at its tip was even denser than the darkness of the night. He fixed his eyes on the sea of bones in the trench and the massive Golem. "Barlas, the right flank is yours. Kuzey, hold the hill and distract that Golem. Lidya, Vera... Create a nightmare for us." Darius slightly lowered that dark wand in his hand. "Alaz. Release hell." There was not a crumb of emotion on Alaz's face. His tears had dried up long ago, replaced by pure madness. He wanted the price for Efsun's blood. With the armor made of dragon scales hung around his neck and that massive, double-barreled pump-action shotgun modified with his wand in his hand, he looked more like an envoy of the apocalypse than an Auror. Alaz pulled the shotgun's mechanism sharply. He had loaded it not with standard shells, but with Dragon Fire and Explosive Rune bullets he bought from the black market. "For Efsun," whispered Alaz. The moment he pulled the trigger, the sound coming from the barrel of the gun exploded like a cannonball at the Myndos Gate. The flame and kinetic magic energy shooting from the tip of the weapon pulverized about fifty skeletons on the left flank of the trench in seconds. The magic was so violent that the bones turned to ash from the sulfur fire before they even had the chance to recombine. Alaz began running toward the trench, roaring, tearing massive holes in the ranks of the green-lit skeletons with every pump. "We're going down!" shouted Darius.
The eight people fell into the ancient trench like an avalanche. Barlas and Okan had completely abandoned that sterile stance of their Ministry training. Okan's new combat wand fired spells in rapid and devastating succession like a machine gun. Barlas, on the other hand, was using the cursed blood magic he bought from the Black Market; every time he struck the ground with his wand, he rotted the magical bonds within the bones of the skeletons around him, turning them to dust. Meltem was the most lethal dancer on the battlefield. She had attached the "Basilisk Poison" apparatus she got from the Locksmith to the tips of her curved knives. She dove into the skeletons like a tornado. The poison melted the necromancy magic animating the dead like acid. Every bone Meltem's blade touched instantly melted into a black sludge, unable to rise again. "Lidya! Now!" shouted Vera. The black agate necklace she bought from the black market pulsed on her neck, amplifying her mind magic to an incredible level. As Lidya pulled the shadows upward from the bottom of the trench, Vera merged her own mind illusion with these shadows. A massive shadow-dragon made of pure darkness emerged, swallowing the green light of the skeleton army. The shadow dragon dove into the skeletons, crushing them and shattering their bones. The two former enemies, the masters of mind and shadow, had stood shoulder to shoulder and turned the battlefield into a nightmare for Nazir's army. However, the massive Bone Golem in the middle of the trench swatted the shadow dragon away with its hand like an insect. The Golem turned its head—a disgusting mass of thousands of skulls—upward, toward Kuzey on the hill, and spewed a green, acidic vomit of death from its mouth. Kuzey did not even budge with his massive ebony wand on his shoulder. He had fixed his eye on the core right in the center of the Golem that held it together. Just as the green acid was about to rain down on him, he touched the trigger of his wand. "Bombarda Ultima!" The massive, golden laser beam shooting from Kuzey's wand vaporized the green acid vomit in mid-air and struck directly into the Bone Golem's ribcage. The violence of the collision created a small-scale earthquake in Bodrum. The Golem stumbled backward with a massive crater opened in its chest. "Alaz! We're going to the Port! Clear the way!" roared Darius. Darius and Alaz, passing between the legs of the Golem that Kuzey had stunned, reached the Seventh Port stone, half-unearthed in the exact center of the trench. The stone was feeding on the necromancy energy coming from the castle, green lights leaking from its cracks. "I'm not going to weave a shield or anything, Darius," Alaz said, panting. His eyes were tearful but with an unshakeable resolve. From his black market bag, he pulled out a massive alchemy vial filled with a boiling red liquid, surrounded by engraved runes. "The Locksmith said this could blow up even a dragon's heart from the inside."
"Plant it!" shouted Darius, as he repelled the swarm of skeletons surrounding them with dark shockwaves (Depulso Maxima) using his wand. Alaz jammed the unstable alchemy bomb directly onto the Port stone, right into the crack where that green energy boiled. But at that moment, the Bone Golem recovered and raised its massive fist into the air to bring it down on the spot where Darius and Alaz were. The Golem's fist was the size of a bus and was falling on them like a meteorite. "Darius, fall back!" shouted Meltem from afar. "Never," growled Darius. Instead of fleeing, he gripped his wand with both hands, aiming that dull black void at the Golem's descending fist. He combined the energy he got from the black market with that pure dark anger born from Efsun's death. "Sectumsempra... OMEGA!" The black sword strikes erupting from Darius's wand were not invisible; they shot out like gigantic, pitch-black physical scythes that tore through the rain, the wind, and even the fabric of space in the air. The scythes sliced the Golem's descending massive fist, then its arm, and finally its torso—made of thousands of skulls—into diagonal slices in seconds. Before it could even hit the ground, the Golem broke into thousands of bone pieces in mid-air, showering down like rain. "Fall back!" roared Alaz, activating the rune on the bomb. "Ten seconds!" Darius grabbed Alaz by the collar and hurled him backward, into the corridor opened by Barlas and the others. The team frantically began climbing up the steep slopes of the trench. "Sina! Barlas! Get down!" When the eight people took cover behind the ancient marble blocks at the edge of the trench, the alchemy bomb Alaz planted detonated. This was not an explosion like the ones on Kara Ada or at the Mausoleum. When the alchemy bomb reacted with the Port's own dark energy, it created a soundless, blinding red and green reverse vacuum wave. The Seventh Port stone collapsed inward with all the magic inside it and vanished. The shockwave generated by the explosion severed the magical bonds between all the skeletons in the trench simultaneously. Thousands of bones spilled onto the soil soullessly and without magic, merely as a heap of rotten calcium. A deafening, pure silence suddenly formed at the Myndos Gate. Only the sound of the rain hitting the stones remained. Darius slowly stood up from behind the marble block where he had taken cover. The inside of the trench had turned into a completely destroyed ocean of bones. There was no trace of the Seventh Port.
Barlas stood up, his face covered in soot and blood. He looked down at the destruction below in astonishment. "We... we really did it. We destroyed Nazir's army with his own weapons, sacrificing a stone." Alaz stood up, leaning on his pump-action shotgun. There was a small, tired smile on his face. "This is no longer a graveyard. This is the dump of Nazir's arrogance." Darius tucked his wand into his robes. For the first time, he felt something he hadn't felt in days; that the balance was slowly shifting toward them. But the war wasn't over. The Ministry radio in Okan's pocket (the device he stole from the castle, which only received one-way frequencies) suddenly crackled. Everyone's eyes turned to the radio. Nazir's voice was not coming from the device. Instead of that calm, sociopathic whisper Nazir always maintained, the voice of a man breathing with a deep, raspy, and unbridled anger was heard for the first time. Nazir, in his castle, had felt the destruction of his bone army. "Widdershins..." snarled Nazir over the frequency. They could even hear the stone walls of Bodrum Castle shaking through the radio. "You stole an army from me. But the eighth and ninth Ports are in the castle... Right beneath my throne! If you are truly that dark, take your hounds and come to my home!" Darius took the radio from Okan's hand and smashed it to pieces. He turned to his team. There was neither fear nor hesitation in his eyes. They were a complete death squad now. "Get ready," Darius said, with a deadly whisper that blended into the darkness of the night. "We are going to the king's castle to bring his throne crashing down on his head."
