　　アインハイズフィルの北境には、古来、完全な夜というものがなかった。陽光が退くと、まず紅い月が塩のように白い山稜から昇り、ついで蒼い月が雲の背後に姿を現し、最後に、小さく澄明な黄の月が、太古の神々の置き忘れた金印さながら、天穹の最奥へひそやかに捺された。三重の月光が重なり合う折、瓦も井桁も、涸れ井戸のほとりに咲く名もなき花も、昼とは異なる幽艶な輪郭を帯び、物質とは仮初めの器にすぎず、その本性が光の裂け目から徐々に目覚めてゆくかに見えた。
