Emily returned to her room.

The laptop was waiting.

The screen was black.

A message appeared:

DO YOU REMEMBER NOW?

Emily didn't answer.

Another message:

GOOD.

Then:

WE'VE BEEN WAITING SIX YEARS.

The screen showed a video.

Emily at six years old.

She was sitting in front of the computer.

A voice came from the speakers.

"Do you want to play?"

Little Emily nodded.

The screen went black.

Then another voice spoke.

Emily's voice.

But older.

"Don't."

The six-year-old Emily looked confused.

"Who are you?"

The older voice whispered:

"I'm you."

The video ended.

Emily stared at the screen.

Then one final message appeared:

YOU WERE NEVER TALKING TO US.

WE WERE TALKING THROUGH YOU.

The laptop camera turned on.

Emily saw herself on the screen.

But the image was different.

The person on the screen smiled.

Emily didn't.

The reflection whispered:

"Now it's my turn."

The screen went black.

The bedroom door slowly opened.

Emily looked toward it.

Her mother was standing there.

Except...

her mother wasn't smiling.

Her eyes were completely dark.

She whispered:

"Emily?"

Emily stepped backward.

Then her laptop displayed one final message:

DON'T TRUST ANYONE WHO KNOWS YOUR NAME.

Her mother smiled.

And said:
