The mountains looked different that evening.

He stood up.

It had fallen from her notebook.

He picked it up.

For a moment, he hesitated.

He could have read it.

Instead, he folded it carefully and placed it on the rock.

Then he walked away.

The next evening, Ayla returned.

She sat down.

And noticed the folded piece of paper.

Her heart skipped.

She looked around.

No one was there.

She slowly picked it up.

Inside, there was only one sentence.

“Some people come to the mountains to escape the world. Some come here to find themselves.”

Then a third time.

She looked around again.

“Who wrote this?”

The mountains gave her no answer.
