How to become an adult - First Days

I was feeling nervous. Being in the new environment is always scary but at the same time it's exciting.

I wanted to have a place where I can be myself. Get to know new people, learn new things. And everyone was very friendly. In short time I felt like I was home.

This was weird for a workplace. Before, I was always in a race. No one would help me learn things, some people would lie to make me loose my job. And the worst part is it's almost always like this.

Maybe that's why I loved this job so much. For the first time in my life, I didn't felt threatened.

It was great learning things, feeling you were supported with people. One thing I didn't realize was how much I gave into work.

I didn't know anyone else, I didn't really had anything exciting in my life. The unavoidable thing happened.

I started to like someone at work.

I didn't really notice him at first. At one event I caught the way he looked at me and I was surprised.

Did he actually liked me? By time I noticed small things. Him texting out of the blue, asking questions to get to know me better.

It was such a rush being next to him, asking him questions and learning things from him. Sharing small moments with him and having inside jokes.

But our story ended quickly.

He chose someone else. I didn't even see it coming. All of a sudden, he was distant and cold. And I had to witness their happiness every single day.

So I worked. I worked hard trying to distract myself. Not letting feelings rule me over.

But I'm happy. He made me happy for a few months. He thought me a lot of things and showed me one thing.

Even if you're the greatest tone of blue, someone who likes red will never appreciate you.
