"Honest truth, compared to him, you're nothing but a mimicry of an experiment that went quite too well."
"Sayla, I told you, it wasn't a good sight." He says, slapping his hand over the plaque. As his hand lays rest across the plaque, a man walks through and into the room.
"Experiencing this too, huh?" The man said, adjusting his trench-coat.
"You're-you're the guy from the bus!" Sayla says, speed walking out of the room, dragging Truett behind. The man in the trench coat follows closely behind, grabbing his glasses from his coat pocket, placing it jaggedly along his eyes.
Once out of the room, the man in the trench coat turns around, arm outstretched, searching for a handshake. "Nice to meet you. My name's Bourne." Sayla, still shaken up, tightens her arms closer to herself, meanwhile Truett takes Bourne's hand and gives a firm shake in her place.
"This place is a shitshow." Bourne says. "this annoying ass hallway. Beds blocking pathways, forcing you to climb through, and each room feels like you're entering a job you've never been to." He says, walking towards a random room neither Truett or Sayla had gone through.
"For god sake, this room is a copy of a construction site!" He says, swinging the door open. Inside is a gravel flooring with bags of cement stacked to the side with an entire table of construction tools laid out. along the walls are images of construction machines such as cranes, concrete trucks.
"I've followed this hallway fully too, it's a full damn loop. It goes in a perfect square."
Finally regaining her balance and stability, Sayla immediately interjects. "Are we going to ignore what I just read on that plaque?" She said in a confused and more panicking tone.
"Do you want us to just start hunting indiscriminately?" Bourne says, inching closer, pointing towards Sayla's forehead.
"Think. There's gotta be 20 or so more people here, considering everyone in the bus was affected. Lets find everyone first." He says, turning around with an annoyed scowl before walking through the hallway. From a distance, Bourne shouts.
"Once you've looked around enough, meet me at the theater. I'll have everyone there."
As Truett swung open the doors to the theater, a group of 8 people showed themselves, Bourne among them. Out of the crowd, Sayla recognized one of them, specifically as the man that helped break her fall on the bus, and helped her back to her seat.
He was the first one to come up and introduce himself, despite being the worst at presenting himself.
"N-nic-hi, m-" He took a second to breathe. you could tell from first glance, this wasn't shyness, or if anything a small amount. He had the normal reaction of someone captured and kidnapped in a strange building.
"The name's Milo." He says reluctantly, shaking Sayla's hand before going back to the table in the upper section of the theater. The man Sayla had seen in her room when she woke up was nowhere to be found, but in that moment, the theater door swings open, smacking Sayla in the back.
A homeless man came stumbling in through the door, appearing somehow still drugged from whatever anesthesia they were induced with in the bus.
"Anyo-huck-got a burger... I feel like shit-" He says, before passing out flat across the staircase and tumbling down, smacking into the theater stage at the bottom. A man from the crowd ran to the mans side, and checks his pulse.
"He's alright. This old geezer can take a hit." He says, picking up his limp body and sitting him down on a theater seat.
Truett walks up to check the man's head to check for any injuries or bumps, but sees little to nothing. "What's your name kid?" Truett says to the man who checked the mans pulse.
"Shen." He says, nodding before heading back up the staircase.
In the crowd, a girl who, seems much more calm than everyone else, stood, reading a book.
"Whatchu reading?" Sayla asks, peering over her tall shoulders.
"A book about martial arts. If I'm gonna be in here, there ain't no way I'm not learning more self defense methods. Usually I just use my gun." She says, slapping the book closed.
"What's your name?" She asks.
"uh, Sayla, you?"
"Name's Natavan, most people just call me Naty though." She says, slapping Sayla on the back. As she does, she pulls Sayla to the side, and points her hand at someone in the crowd, like presenting a trophy.
"This is my brother, Brutus-"
As swift as a cat, he slapped her hand away. "Piss off. I don't want your pity." He says, turning and walking towards Milo's table.
"He's a little... much. He's been acting angsty and rude all week, and this definitely ain't helping." She says, twirling in a circle. "He's probably the most terrified out of everyone in this room."
As Sayla waves to Naty goodbye, she heads over to the next person to talk to, but as she approaches, he immediately snarks at her before she can speak.
"Don't talk to me." He says, waving her away. "Your creepy need to seek people to talk to is weird. We'll be out of here in like two days anyways, why introduce yourself? You'll be fine."
"How do you think? To my knowledge, you don't know any more than we do, unless that plaque in the room with the crows was designed for you." She says, taking a step forward, pointing her finger at him, as he looks down at her.
As she took a closer look at his face, a mixture of anger but also respect was spewed across his face. "Aw man, we just met, and you're already calling me a killer?" Everyone in the room began shifting their gazes to whatever argument was going on.
"What a prick." She says, shoving him away, accidentally into a short girl in the crowd she hadn't met yet. Truett checked on the girl, brought her out of the way, and broke the two apart.
"Need a big strong man huh?" He said, tapping Truett on the shoulder, like a bored cat. Truett promptly shoved him too, this time not on someone, but into the table both Milo and Brutus were sat at, knocking it around, startling the both of them.
"I'll be honest, I don't care about your name, but I'd rather call you that than prick." Truett says, standing a good ways away from the table.
"Ronan-I'm Ronan." He says, gasping with the wind taken out of him.
"And what's your name?" Truett says, leaning down to the young girl who was sat down on the ground after she was pushed.
"Sarah. Sorry for being in the way-"
"No worries." Truett says, before getting up and laying his back on the theaters soft, cushioned walls.
There was one final person Sayla hadn't met yet, but it seemed to be a girl that kept to her own world. It was a girl completely apart from the rest of the group, sat down, facing directly at the movie screen, despite it being completely black and empty. Before Sayla can ask her name, the movie screen began glitching, and before long, a sound erupted from the speakers strung atop the theater.
In a narrator's voice, the speakers said, "Please be seated. This ride is safest when sat down." Everyone sat on the theaters chairs, staring up at the movie screen which slowly faded into a light blue tint. A man in sandpaper appeared on the screen, the same masks Sayla had seen when she had awoken.
"It's nice to meet you all. My name is-beep-but you may call me Solomon. Lets cut to the chase. Those of you that have seen the crows should know this already, and even if you do, you quite possibly are gaslighting yourself into believing its not true."99Please respect copyright.PENANAOVXv3E1mdg
"Among the 11 of you in this room, one of you is a mass murder who kills, waits for crows to feast on the body, and then captures them in cages as trophy's. You know who you are, and all of your crimes are mine to know." He says, staring at the screen with his cut out eye holes, but a mechanism within the mask triggered, covering his eyes with mirrors.
"I respect you more than you will ever know. The ability to stay hidden, the skill to kill nearly half a centuries worth of people, you're spectacular. If anything, you're one of the smartest people on the planet."99Please respect copyright.PENANAwTAadzecUI
"I just have a single task for you: kill everyone in this room without getting killed. Stay hidden, show me that skill you parade around with in the outside world."
Everyone sat down visibly worried, half of which shaking as if hypothermia had materialized into their body.
"One momentum I would like to leave with you all."
"While only one of you in this room is a mass murderer, you all have the capabilities to turn into something, much, much worse. Be worse."
He says as the movie screen fades to black.
