My name is Jenny and I am in Mrs. Miranda's fourth grade class. My best friend Samuel Martinez is in Ms. Bee's class.
There's only one person in my class that I hate. Her name is Carol Hyde, the know-it-all. She thinks she's the smartest in the whole school, and says for me to mind my own business, while she can be as nosy as she wants and correct our grammar! She's also the teacher's pet.
Anyway, in class we were learning english. As always, I wasn't paying attention, until Mrs. Miranda called on me.
“Jenny,” Mrs. Miranda asked. “Can you answer question 15?”
Carol kept raising her hand.
“Mrs. Miranda call on meeeeeeeee! Jenny’s not responding, so call on your favoriteeeeeeeeeee!” Mrs. Miranda ignored her.
“Jenny, do you need help?” Mrs. Miranda asked. I still kept looking at the question.
“Pleeeaaaaaseeee callll on meeeeeeee! Myy hand is getting tiiiiiireddddd!” Carol yelled.
"Mrs. Miranda, I know the answer!" Carol shouted, waving her hand frantically.
I rolled my eyes and finally muttered, "I don't know the answer."
Mrs. Miranda sighed and said, "Alright, Carol. Go ahead."
Carol made the loser sign at me.
“Well, the answer is-” Carol couldn’t finish, because Mrs. Miranda’s paper lantern thingy fell on Carol’s head.
“AHHHHHHHHHH!” Carol shrieked. “Get this monstrosity off of me!”
Then, Carol’s little flunky, Alice, picked it up and gave the paper lantern to Mrs. Miranda.
Sheesh. It was just a paper lantern, not an anvil!
