"It’s too heavy for a direct frontal assault!" Konone shouted over the screeching whine of the monster’s spinning screwdriver-head. "If we get caught in that rotation, our armor won't hold!"
"Then we make it lose its balance!" Yui yelled back. She skated across the debris, her rapier drawing a glowing line of blue light in the air. "Ice Trail!"
Yui didn't aim for the monster's torso. Instead, she circled the titan’s legs at high speed, coating the rough construction ground in a layer of absolute zero ice. The Void Smasher tried to pivot to crush her, but its massive, rusted feet found no traction. The heavy machine-beast wobbled, its hammer-arm swinging wildly to maintain balance.
"Now, Konone! It’s open!"
"On it!" Konone propelled herself forward with a burst of flame from her boots. She didn't just punch; she focused every ounce of her heat into a single point. "Maximum Blazing Punch!"
She struck the monster’s central chest plate. The metal didn't just dent—it turned a bright, cherry red. The intense heat caused the rusted joints to expand and seize. Steam hissed from the gaps in the monster's armor as the extreme cold from the floor met the searing heat of Konone’s fist.
"The metal is brittle!" Konone cried out, her knuckles glowing. "Yui, finish it before it recalibrates!"
"One purified heart, coming right up!" Yui leaped into the air, her silhouette framed against the morning sun. She gripped her rapier with both hands, the blade extending with a jagged, crystalline edge.
"Blazing Ice... ICE BLADE SLASH!"
She descended like a falling star. The frozen blade sliced through the glowing, overheated chest of the Smasher. The combination of thermal shock—extreme heat followed by instant freezing—was too much for the Void energy to handle.
The Smasher didn't just break; it shattered into thousands of harmless, shimmering metal flakes that dissolved before they hit the ground.
Guwamu growled from the girders, his concrete-colored skin darkening in rage. "Useless pile of scrap..." He vanished into a swirl of gray mist just as the 2nd Heart Card materialized in the air, spinning slowly.
Yui caught the card, her transformation fading as she gave a tired but triumphant thumbs-up. "Two down, ten to—"
CRACK-BOOM!
A bolt of violet lightning tore the sky apart, striking the ground between the two girls with the force of a bomb. The shockwave threw them back, the newly earned card skittering across the dirt.
Through the smoke, a pair of dark, polished boots stepped onto the cracked earth. The temperature didn't just drop—it turned dead.
Blazing Arcana stood there, her lightning crackling around her like a nest of angry vipers. She didn't look at the card. She looked straight at Konone.
