I woke up with a pounding headache and a sore neck. I turned my head around to see if I could and winced when pain bloomed all over my neck. They had decapitated me, right, but if they had done that how was I alive?
7Please respect copyright.PENANAR1nQaDwDFb
I touched my neck all over but I had no wounds and besides from the light pain I didn't feel the earth shattering pain from when I was decapitated.

" How am I alive?" I muttered. I knew I was a demon, but not every demon could come back from the dead. Lucky me, it seemed my father or mother, to this day I still didn't know which one of my parents wasn't my real one, was a very high ranking demon.

A devious grin spread all over my face. Now I was truly immortal. I smiled as I tried to get up, but fell back into a.....cloud? The thing I had fallen into was so soft that it bended under my weight, enveloping me whole.

" Where am I?" I struggled to get up and when I finally managed to scape the cloud I looked around. What I saw left me with my mouth hanging open.

I was in the middle of a suite as fine as the one in the guys mansion. From where I was near the bed I could see the walk-in closet and the bathroom, along with a dark oak desk that perfectly suited the tone of the whole room, contrasting with the black walls and curtains, and a red velvet chair in front of it.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAJH0BLwHDld
The bed I had been in was at least King sized and expanded through a whole wall. It looked as fluffy and soft as it was.

I ran to the window and leaned in to see what was beyond the room. Outside a grand city spread all over a desert. I could hear grunts and screams coming from the city as demons, all in different sizes and with different clothes and horns, went about their daily lives.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAfxGnDF7Xcj
My room was above the whole city, so I could see all the buildings coming out of the floor and the far away desert, where not even a speck of green could be seen. All the desert had was red sand that glimmered under the light coming from the two red suns up in the sky.

I didn't need to look anymore to know I wasn't on earth anymore. I was in Jinasia, the demon world.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAUWBnqtq6Ig
How had I ended up in Jinasia? My heart began pounding and I ran to the bathroom, almost crashing into the door.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAUaexTlN8FH
The mirror in the bathroom reflected myself. My skin was unscathed, as if I hadn't ever been killed. I slowly took my hand to my neck and slowly caressed it. I was alive. I was fine.

I fell to the hard marble floor, crying. I was so relieved I could just scream, which probably wasn't a good idea taking into account the fact that I was in the demon world. The world where the demons that had tried to kidnap and kill me lived.
7Please respect copyright.PENANADqDFddlmCP
My relief didn't last long. I began to panic when I realized where I was. I had to get out of there.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAZAYPjEyOz9
I wiped my tears and got up. I went to the main door and placed my hand over the handle. It moved when I put a little bit of pressure on it and the door opened without a sound. Idiots. All magical creatures always thought they were soo strong that no one would ever dare to open their doors. They didn't even have locks!! As long as I didn't come across any demons getting out of the... house? Castle? I wasn't sure what it was, but I was sure that if that was all the security they had, getting out of there was going to be a breeze.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAsxnKO4Skny
Outside of the room the dark corridors gave a creepy atmosphere. I shuddered thinking about what was inside the castle. I moved as a wraith, my nightgown, which someone had put on me, didn't make a sound as I glided through the corridors, taking all the stairs down, looking for the entrance.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAW4XR5ixPu8
Throughout my whole scape I didn't hear a single sound or voice, which instead of calming me down just put me even more on edge. All I could hear was my breath and my own heartbeat. The torches didn't even make a sound as they burned in the walls, casting shadows all over the corridors where the sunlight didn't reach.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAO7aH2mCoXW
Despite how much I walked I didn't see a way out, all there was were corridors, not even a single door on sight.

" I'm never getting out of here" I was beginning to despair when, from the corner of my eye, I saw a door.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAbxHBlDnTz7
I walked to it as fast as I could without making a sound. The door was so tall that two people on top of each other could still enter with ease. The whole door was covered in weird symbols scribbled all over it.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAnaF1GPpE2e
I hesitated when I touched the doorknob. It was as cold as death and gave me an ominous feeling. Ignoring my common sense I turned the handle and was met with a room as big as a house. The whole room oversaw the city, ruling over it all. The walls, as everything else in the castle, was deep black, so much so that it was difficult to make out the black bed on the opposite side of the room.
7Please respect copyright.PENANA4P8pC2Uh5P
I waited for a few minutes, but no noises came out, so I slowly entered the room. I walked around, searching for a way out, but besides discovering that I probably never wanted to meet the giant being that lived there, I didn't find anything of interest.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAv6iz3f3nD2
I backed away and closed the door behind me.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAmh1HIhnb4f
" One door less" I told myself, trying to maintain my hope, but it was useless, just looking ahead and seeing the endless corridors took all my strength away from me.

" I can do it. I'll get out of here, but first I need a map"
7Please respect copyright.PENANANmIfPa0DdM
After I managed to scape the castle I would need a map that pointed to the breach, the place where both earth and the demon world united, and once I had the map and was in the breach I would find a way to push past thousands of fighters and get back to the academy, where I'd find out who betrayed me and find a way to take the gem out of the wall and raise back my family.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAvAXn8AfgZn
As I pondered my plan I began to realized how unhinged and impossible it was. I couldn't even get out of a flimsy castle with no one in it, how was I going to do all that?
7Please respect copyright.PENANAKDpGkM9RGt
" The problems one by one" I told myself as I kept walking through the corridors.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAnpZ3kmugwh
" Ahhhhh!" I screamed as I fell to the floor.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAeJHaMwUfls
A deep breeze had pushed me back and I had fallen, all of my now restored large hair entering my mouth, which wasn't a pleasant experience, and my ass hitting the hard floor. I was taking the hair out of my mouth when I heard noises coming from my left.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAiRtuUOXWNw
I quickly got up to my feet and ran away from them, not stopping even when the sounds intensified and I could hear grunting and hissing from behind me.
7Please respect copyright.PENANADov1CIONqJ
My legs were begging me to stop. My whole body was begging me to slow down, but I didn't listen to it as I kept running and running, not looking back.
7Please respect copyright.PENANANVCAMhLOgT
At some point the noises stopped and I slowed down, looking behind me only to find there was nothing there. I breathed a sigh of relief and sat down on the floor, only for a little while my heart calmed down.
7Please respect copyright.PENANABdh08NWgxs
This was great. I was now lost in the middle of a gigantic castle in the middle of enemy territory. All my hope was now gone and all that was left was despair. I wanted to lay on the floor and wait for the demons to find me, but I couldn't do that, so after I calmed down I continued walking, not finding anything along the way. From the windows I could see that the suns had gone down. My whole body hurt. I was exhausted and hungry. I would kill for the cafeteria food, even though it was horrible it was better than going hungry.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAUmlLEVTnlw
I groaned as I looked ahead and found even more corridors and stairs waiting for me, not a single door on sight. I was going to kill whoever designed this whole castle. It was a maze in disguise. I had been walking and walking for hours on end and I had just managed to go down a floor and find a single door that led to a giant's room. Maybe I should've stayed in my room and waited for my captors to arrive and then tried to kill them, but what was done was done.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAhoIMNq5Cpk
Night fell and the windows no longer gave any light, the only source being the torches on the walls, which didn't contribute to calming me down. The whole castle had a creepy atmosphere to it that seeped deep into my bones. It seemed as if a ghost or monster could pop right up from behind me and kill me, which considering where I was was very likely. I kept constantly checking behind me and looked in every nook and cranny before taking a turn. The mental stress was beginning to eat at me and I could've sworn I heard voices coming from right above me, but I had been there and there were no places to hide and if they had come from the lower floors I would've heard them go up. I was officially losing my shit.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAu6YafnVCO4
" Nian de la sheis...." A voice came from behind me and I ran as fast as I could. I wasn't hallucinating from hunger and stress! That was good news, but it would've been even better if I hadn't a demon or monster chasing after me.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAtmpBl6Waji
I took another turn and another until I couldn't hear the voices anymore, but I wasn't going to risk it. It seemed that the demons that patrolled the castle were only active at night. It was good to know if I had to stay for a few days, which wasn't my plan, but I didn't have my hopes up, after all Lady luck was always against me.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAun45Q0hikn
I took another turn and a giant door appeared in front of me. This time I didn't hesitate as I turned the handle. God, should I have hesitated. I should've run away, but as usual I was very unlucky.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAsm82CQmtv3
The door led to a giant throne room. Thousands of tiny, compared to the room's and ceiling's size, demons roamed around, socializing and talking to one another. Their gowns and formal attires told me this was an important place that I shouldn't be in. I tried to back away, but it was too late. The moment I entered all the heads snapped in my direction and they waited perfectly still, probably waiting for their king to issue an order.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAJizV4vBRps
The King was the most beautiful man I had ever seen. His chiseled face and sharp nose made him seem like an ethereal creature, which united with his light, green eyes and deep black hair made him seem like a fairy, and if it weren't for the black horns in the middle of his skull anyone could've mistaken him for a fairy or an angel.
7Please respect copyright.PENANACAN0korNLZ
The man just looked at me with a smile in his deep dark red lips. He got up from his throne, a mounstrousity made of bones and gold, and walked towards me. The other demons opened a path for him, leaving a few feet of distance between themselves and the king.
7Please respect copyright.PENANACWENKpqGoc
As he walked through the room I could see that his hair wasn't really black, it was rather a mix of all the colors. As soon as the light coming from the chandelier high above hit his hair it shone in different tones of blue, red, green, yellow... It was like watching a thousand colors packed in a single strand of hair.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAVhhoglYDBB
I was so mesmerized by his hair that I didn't notice he was just in front of me.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAdzcTXP7v9H
" What are you doing here?" Even his voice was angelic.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAapBtEcObhb
I looked him in the eyes and stood firm. 'You have magic and he can't kill you' I kept telling myself, but my confidence wavered as I saw his smile turn into a frown in real time.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAVUFKVICfXE
" Did someone hurt you, my little bunny?" The King roamed my body with his eyes, looking for injuries, but I was too out of it to notice.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAt0npdNwfiT
Did he just say his little bunny? Only Shadowy ever called me that, but there was no way he was actually the demon King, right?
7Please respect copyright.PENANAm8XyrK97xI
" Shadowy?" I muttered.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAsAWndNBcVG
The King smiled again, this time even brighter. I could see the other demons from the corner of my eye and they were fidgeting, some of them walking carefully to the exit.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAgfRtPpr0d3
" That's what you called me, but I rather you called me Dad"
7Please respect copyright.PENANAGYcDrWIMIn
" Dad?" I backed away, confused. My dad was Lionel, a mage that married my mother when they were in their twenties. He was the man that kissed me goodnight and made me pancakes. This demon wasn't my father. He had to be lying.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAfp4TM6urWP
A thousand thoughts were spinning through my head at the same time. It was possible that he was Shadowy, but my father? That was impossible. There was no way I could be the daughter of the demon King, right? Because if I was that would mean that I was the daughter of our worst enemy, and that maybe the men who had come to kill me had been right, maybe I was a monster.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAXQ8ku7XO6q
" My King, I think it would be best to let her rest" The demon's voice snapped me back into reality just in time to see my...dad? smile at a gorgeous blond demon and snap his neck on two. The floor turned black as his blood pooled beneath him.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAB6dLS0gfpY
" Anyone else wants to share their opinion?" My dad? I was going to keep calling him the King until he proved to me that he was my dad, said, a smile on his lips.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAvuKjNaqB1E
" Come on Ashmoder, let the girl rest" A tall, broad man had stepped up and was now right in front of the King, talking to him as if they were equals.
7Please respect copyright.PENANA34VSQ0IXbG
I closed my eyes, not wanting to see any more violence, but instead of the sound of something breaking I heard the King sigh.
7Please respect copyright.PENANA8rfeYFp9sK
" Ruan, leave me alone" The King sighed, massaging his temples.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAZCuXiEEgb9
Ruan, the brave man, didn't leave the king's side, and instead accompanied him as they both turned towards me.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAigkKooK9zh
Both of them were extremely handsome, but the King was more so than Ruan. Ruan's hair was a deep dark black, but unlike the king's his hair didn't change colors, and his eyes were also deep black, which greatly contrasted with his porcelain skin, just as white as the king's, and his red horns protruding from his skull.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAUpumXro5pP
" Welcome home, princess Irash" Ruan bowed deep and the rest of the demons followed.
7Please respect copyright.PENANA0oYTbtiaDo
Soon only the King and myself remained standing in the middle of the room.
7Please respect copyright.PENANAhP8yRXyEdc
" Welcome home, my daughter" The King smiled and seeing the whole display I had to admit the truth to myself, the fact that it was very likely that I was the demon King's daughter.
7Please respect copyright.PENANA85PaX0FRn7
I was the demon princess. I was the enemy. The demons only ever tried to bring me home, not to kidnap me, and they were all dead because of me. My whole life had been a lie. My family wasn't my family. My people weren't my people. Who was I? I turned on my heels and ran away, but before I could do that the King's hands clasped around my arm.
