Episode 5: It's a Different World!
Chandu lay unconscious on a bed-like structure carved into the tree. Nearby, Darshan, Viyog, and Sarunya had finally succumbed to exhaustion and drifted into a light sleep.
Suddenly, Chandu’s eyes flickered open. Through a window-like opening in the hollow trunk, he saw a pale, white figure peering in at him, its eyes fixed on his.
"AHHH...!!" Chandu’s blood-curdling scream tore through the silence. Darshan, Viyog, and Sarunya jolted awake, their hearts racing.
"What happened!?" Darshan shouted, rushing to his side.
"There's a ghost! A ghost just looked inside! Save me!" Chandu yelled, pointing at the opening. Viyog didn't hesitate; he moved with lightning speed and drove the entity away.
"Yavva...!" Chandu gasped, finally noticing the strangers standing before him. He stared at Sarunya and Viyog, his eyes wide with suspicion. "Who are these people? What is this weird place? It looks like a jungle... wait, did you guys kidnap us!?" He looked at them, his mind clouded with confusion and fear.
"Chandu!" Darshan called out. Chandu flinched, but slowly began to calm down as he recognized his friend's voice.
"Macha, where the hell are we? Did these people kidnap us or what?"
Darshan took a deep breath. "It's not like that, Macha. Listen to me carefully... we aren't in our world anymore. We are in a different dimension."
Chandu stared at him like he had lost his mind. "Are you crazy!?"
"I’m telling the truth, Chandu! I know it sounds insane, but this is the reality! We are in another world!" Darshan insisted.
Chandu refused to believe it. "Wait, I’m going to go out and see for myself!" He scrambled up and bolted toward the entrance. But before he could take five steps, Sarunya grabbed him by the collar with surprising strength.
"You aren't going anywhere!" she snapped, yanking him back so hard he hit the floor with a thud.
The Laws of the Demansion
Viyog: "This is a strange world. In this dimension, the things humans imagine in our real world actually exist. That is the truth here. So, as beautiful as it looks to your eyes, it is a hundred times more dangerous."
Chandu: "What do you mean by 'imagined by humans'?"
Sarunya: "Think about it—dragons, superpowers, the things you see in Harry Potter or Game of Thrones, or those English movies where animals talk. About 70% of that fictional cinema world is a reality here."
Chandu stared at her, completely stunned.
Viyog: "But remember... those things are incredibly lethal."
Viyog’s expression grew even more serious. "And there’s one more critical thing. What you see here aren't our physical bodies. We are the souls of our true selves."
Darshan and Chandu: "Souls!?" they gasped in unison.
Viyog: "Yes. Though, I have no idea what condition our actual bodies are in back in the real world. I don't know if we died and came here, or if it's something else... I can't say for sure yet."
Darshan and Chandu swallowed hard, a cold shiver running down their spines.
Darshan: "But Mr. Viyog, how is it even possible for us to end up here?"
Viyog: "Machine-EX."
Darshan: "What does that mean?"
Viyog: "It was a new invention, a project my friends and I were studying. But it turned into a backfiring disaster. That’s why I’m stuck here."
Darshan and Chandu looked at each other, the realization hitting them like a lightning bolt. They remembered their industrial visit from a few days ago. They had stood right in front of that machine. It had scanned them... and that was it. Now, their souls were trapped here.
The Real World: The Hospital
In the physical world, Meera stood looking at the lifeless bodies of Darshan and Chandu. She turned to the lead doctor who had arrived to oversee their treatment.
"What is your assessment of this, Doctor?" Meera asked, her voice filled with concern.
"Look, Doctor Meera," the lead physician replied gravely, "these cases are surging across India. I can’t give you a specific medical reason yet, but there are 1,016 people in this exact condition nationwide. Every organ is functioning perfectly, yet they remain in a deep, unconscious state."
Meera stared at him, stunned.
"Out of those," the doctor continued, "712 have been given a one-week deadline. If they don’t wake up by then, they will be declared brain dead and buried."
Meera’s face went pale with shock. The doctor nodded curtly. "I must go now," he said, leaving her alone with the haunting reality.
The Demansion: The Sanctuary
Inside the tree, Darshan turned to Viyog. "Mr. Viyog, I still don't understand one thing... how did you manage to save Chandu before you saved me?"
Sarunya stepped in to explain. "We don't fully understand the physics ourselves. You were trapped in a 'Hollow Glass Bubble.' Inside those bubbles, the timeline doesn't follow normal rules. It's a distorted reality."
As she spoke, Darshan and Chandu found themselves staring at her, captivated by her beauty and the way she explained things, slight smiles creeping onto their faces.
Sarunya’s eyes narrowed. "If you keep staring at me like that, I’ll slice your noses off!"
"Oh! Sorry! Our apologies!" they stammered, instantly looking away in fear.
She cleared her throat and continued. "The point is, you were trapped in a massive illusion. To escape it, someone had to shatter that bubble from the outside. But the only one who truly understands the full depth of those illusions is Pikus."
Darshan and Chandu looked at each other, then back at her. "Who... who is Pikus?"
To be continued...!!
