- Long time no see, eh? - Leonid asked, even though we've seen (and fought) each other a mere few hours ago.
The Perseids were armed to the teeth. Leonid had a laser blaster, Alia had a weird combination of a sword and a taser and Rill Gomana was large and strong enough to be a weapon in his own right. Rill was wearing an old, dusty and partially charred spacesuit. He's known to be passionate about history and likes to wear and use old things, but I don't know from where the burns came.
Instead of replying, we instinctively ran away from the Perseids, which was a good move, seeing as Leonid quickly opened fire. We hid behind one of the charging pods, only for a pellet to melt a perfectly circular hole in the glass and set the robot behind it on fire. We were unharmed by the pellet, but decided to keep moving to make it harder for Leonid to aim. His shots damaged several other capsules, catching the conservation robot's attention. It was two times taller than me and had a singular, massive claw that could be swapped out for various attatchments. The arm itself was probably as large as me. The robot also had a small, box-shaped head and a blue-white color pallette. I would like to observe their work, but with the enemy agents hot on our tail, that was out of the question.
- So you had to deal with them on your previous mission? - Arika asked us - Pretty fierce enemies.
- Yes, we did - Amber confirmed.
Rill was so furious that he looked more like he were a wild animal than a human being. He was chasing us restlessly and decided to pounce. Arika was swift enough to dodge the attack, but a tiny, poor robot was flattened by Rill's massive body. Speaking of robots, the conservation robot was large enough to shield us from Leonid's shots, but Alia overpowered the machine with her weapon, which electrocuted the robot and forced a shutdown. Now it was as useful as an empty crate in the middle of nowhere. Alia was taking care of every machine on her way, getting dangerously close to us whilst leaving a path of broken machines behind her.
- We can't run forever! - Sebastian panted.
- Than let's prevent them from pursuing us! - I suggested.
- I have an idea. Let's get up there! - Claudius pointed at a platform where several conservation robots stood with colorful containers behind them.
- Wait, if the conservation robots fix up the androids, who fixes up the conservation robots? - I asked on our way up.
- Other conservation robots - Arika replied. Indeed, a red and white conservation robot was fixing another one that looked like a copy of the one Alia fried. Several other conservation robots were rolling around the area, with their treads making loud mechanical clanking noises.30Please respect copyright.PENANAuzNkfeeHEj
- So, what's your idea? - Sebastian approached Claudius.
- I'll break into the bot's insides so that Arika can program it to knock the broken coservation robot off the platform. That should at least slow down the Perseids - Claudius explained.
- Didn't we establish that we'll call them the Rogue Pixel? - Amber asked.
- We did, but it doesn't matter at the moment, since the enemies are already chasing us - Arika replied, waiting for Claudius to detatch a panel on the back of the robot and make a path towards the robot's core, which Arika can modify.
Claudius pulled a screwdriver out of his pocket and quickly dealt with the panel. This guy always brings tools with him!30Please respect copyright.PENANAZUJs64jvJJ
As Arika reached into the robot's guts, her upper half dissapeared in the machine's body. I was watching the enemy agents, hiding behind a container.. They decided to split their forces. Rill and Alia went along the charging pods while Leonid was getting worryingly close to our location. Arika finally emerged out of the robot's torso and Claudius fixed the panel. The red conservation robot pushed the blue one off the platform. The latter acted as a barricade, preventing Leonid from finding us. He tried to shoot his way through the machine, but its thick body prevented him from moving forward. We only had Rill Gomana and Alia to worry about for now.
- So, where do we go? - Amber caught up with us.
- Right into my trap - Alia replied. She was stalking us the whole time and we didn't notice. Now, she led us into a dead end, as the route was blocked by containers. She prepared for battle, so did we. Unfortunately for us, we didn't have much to fight her with, as Arika ran out of explosives and only had a knife, and our unit came without proper weapons. The closest things we had were Claudius's tools, which were useful, but won't stand a chance against Alia's electric sword.
Her weapon had a metal handle and a glowing, sparking blue blade. She ran straight into our group, stunning Sebastian with her sword. He fell to the floor and it took him a while to recover and get up. Arika's knife was the only real weapon we had, but I doubted that it would be strong enough to counter Alia's weapon. Our Japanese ally attempted taking Alia by surprise and disarm her, but she'd repell any attack we planned. Alia turned around and tried to hit Arika in the chest with her electroblade and luckily missed by a tiny bit. Arika backed up and almost ran into me, but I moved out of the way.
- I have no idea how to defeat her - Arika told me.
- I say we redirect Alia's blade so that she stuns herself. Maybe we can confuse her somehow? - I whispered to her. Luckily, there was something that we could use against Alia: a cable spool.
Without hesitation, I rushed to the spool and tried to push it. Claudius came to my aid and we managed to get it rolling, litearlly. It passed Alia, who quickly withdrew her hand so that the electroblade doesn't get stuck in the spool. This was a mistake, as the blade pointed at her and her reaction was strong enough for Alia to accidentally zap herself. Arika seized this opportunity and pulled the sword out of her hand. That sword will be useful, as Rill Gomana joined the fight.
His strategy was the same as usual: jump and crush us with his body. He tried to do this a few times. Arika attacked him with the electroblade, but for him, it was as weak as a mosquito bite. He just brushed it off, grabbed the blade and threw it away, not bothering to use it at all. It flew for a bit and stabbed a rope. I got a better look at the rope, as I was closer to it than the others. My suspicions were true: it was the same kind of rope as the one I was tied with in the prison.
I grabbed it along with the electroblade, but I currently focused on the rope. I clibmed a small shelf to get a good view of the battle beneath me. It was clear that we were losing: Sebastian was punched by Rill in the face and his nose was bleeding, so he was out of commission. Claudius was barely holding up with a wrench in his hand, which has just been bent by Rill. Amber was kicking Rill, but it barely slowed him down. Arika was nearly defenseless, as she lost the knife while I wasn't watching. I threw the electroblade and she picked it up from the floor. In the meantime, I focused my sight on Rill, preparing to throw the rope. I felt like a cowboy with a lasso when the right moment came. As I expected, the rope automatically wrapped around our enemy. Rill instantly stumbled and started rolling towards the girls, who swiftly escaped. Rill ended up knocking over a few barrels like a livng bowling ball.
- That was a really good move, Chris - Claudius congratulated me.
- What about Leonid? - Amber asked.
- He went the other way, so I doubt that he'll find us anytime soon. Maybe we should find a way out of this floor? - I proposed and the others nodded.30Please respect copyright.PENANATgymoW4HXP
We chose to come back to our starting point and find another elevator near the broken one. We managed to circumvent the blockade in the form of the fallen conservation robot by jumping off the platform. I was a bit hesitant, fearing that I may break my bones, but luckily, none of that happened. The red robot was taking care of the blue one and Leonid dissapeared. Our team had to be on high aleart, as Leonid might emerge from anywhere on the floor. Upon reaching the jammed elevator, we continued in a straight line from it and eventually found another one. However, it required a holographic ID card to open, because it was a restricted area. For some reason, the scanner next to the jammed elevator wasn't working when Arika and I were busy escaping from the Prison, so none of us were aware of this security measure.
I once again grabbed the camera out of my pocket and plugged it into the socket at the back of the elevator. It took a few seconds for Yasha to disable the scanner.30Please respect copyright.PENANAoxJyZtu6jr
- How are you doing that? - Arika was curious.
- I don't, it's Yasha's work - I forgot that Arika didn't know about Yasha, unlike the others.
- Who's Yasha? - she was confused.
- I'll explain - a projection of Yasha and his room appeared right in front of us on a holographic screen emerging from the security camera.
