It had been an hour since they were trapped in the basement.9Please respect copyright.PENANAlWioTF9mCA
Since then, everyone had been searching for a way out — anything that could help them get out of this mess. The air was getting heavier, and every breath felt like dust.
They finally stopped near a spot where a few dim lamps buzzed faintly, throwing pale yellow light across the concrete floor. They had been walking in circles, yet no sign of an exit appeared. Usually, a basement connects both inside and outside the mall… but they just seemed to be walking in never-ending darkness.
“I’M TIRED OF THIS!” Sienna groaned, her voice echoing against the cold walls.
Lily glanced around, her tone softer. “It’s alright. As long as the six of us are together, we’ll be fine.”
“Do you think it’s a trap?” Theo asked suddenly.
“What do you mean?” Damian replied, narrowing his eyes.
“It kinda makes sense,” Theo said. “Why us? Why are we the only ones stuck here, while the security guards and Peter, Geol, Wend, and Manon are gone? Why only the six of us?”
“Right…” Blake muttered. “But it could also just be a coincidence.”
Blake sighed, rubbing his forehead. “Honestly, it was a mistake coming here at all. I was supposed to meet my friends at another mall, but I ended up here. Thought they said this one, but they were all just spouting nonsense.”
“Why did you guys come here, anyway?” Sienna asked.
“Well,” Lily started, “Myself and Theo were having lunch. We’re childhood friends. It’s been so long since we had a proper friends day out, but the weather’s been rough lately. Then we saw a story on Instagram — people said this mall was really good, so we came to check it out.”
“I was with my friends at the gaming center,” Damian added, smirking a little.
“I came to shop for some decorations,” Raven said simply.
“What about you, Sienna?” Theo asked.
“As you saw earlier,” Sienna sighed, “I was here for an interview with the Roleyoce brand. But talk about timing — the current went off, and now I’m stuck underground with five strangers.”
The group fell silent again. The hum of the lamps was the only sound.
Raven’s mind wandered. Earlier, she’d seen a narrow tunnel — half-hidden behind broken shelves. It looked like it could lead somewhere, maybe even out. But she didn’t want to act recklessly and make things worse.
Lily noticed her zoning out, tracing invisible shapes in the air as if calculating something. She walked over. “Everything alright?”
Raven smiled faintly. “Yeah. I want to check something.” She stood up.
“HEY, WHERE ARE YOU GOING?” Blake snapped, sitting upright.
“I don’t want to rush into something blindly,” Raven said, her tone calm but sure. “Let me check where it leads. If I’m right, I’ll call your names — and you’ll find me in one piece.”
“Well, the thing is,” Damian said with a smirk, “we’re strangers. We don’t trust anyone. It could be one of us who trapped us here. So either you’re escaping… or plotting something worse. No offense, but I don’t trust you.” His voice was smooth but sharp.
“Yeah, right…” Blake muttered, looking at Raven.
“Fine then,” Raven said, matching Damian’s tone. “Why don’t you come with me? So you’ll know I’m not like you— the one who tried to escape earlier and ended up here again. It's not like no one didn't notice."
Damian’s grin faltered slightly. “Fine. Do whatever you want.”
“Do you need a torch?” Theo asked quietly, remembering he broke her phone.
“Thanks,” Raven said, taking his.
“You better be loyal to us, kid!” Sienna called out as Raven walked toward the shadowy tunnel. “I don’t trust anyone meddling with this mess.”
“Hah…” Raven exhaled, shaking her head. Damian’s trying to make me look like the liar. And now they’re all looking down on me because I’m younger.
She didn’t care. All she wanted was to breathe some real air again.
The oxygen level was dropping lower — this was a sealed basement, and no one had stayed this long down here. One hundred and forty minutes trapped. The air felt thinner.9Please respect copyright.PENANA39Mg2clx1p
