The stairwell led down into the basement, dimly lit and cold. Six security guards took the lead, their boots clanging against the concrete. Behind them, the four men moved hesitantly, following the guards’ every step. And last, the six of them — Raven, Sienna, Isabel Lily, Theo, Blake, and Damian — stepped down cautiously, the tension heavy in the air.
Blake muttered loudly, frustration and fear mixing in his voice. “AHHH… I was supposed to meet my friends… WHAT’S HAPPENING?!”
A shadow flickered ahead, just at the edge of the emergency light’s glow. Damian froze, thinking it was the guards and the strangers. He moved forward, and the rest followed him reluctantly, hearts hammering. By the time they reached the middle of the basement, the group of six found themselves alone. The guards and strangers were gone, swallowed by the dim corridors. Panic prickled at the edges of their minds.
Raven stayed calm, but tense. Theo and Lily stuck close together with Raven scanning the whole dim basement. Damian’s attention snapped towards Peter, who was flustered. Quietly, without telling anyone, he veered toward him. His smirk only widened as he wanted to see if he could slip away unnoticed. A few steps later, a guard saw him.
“Oh! Where have y’all been, young guy? The lights are back… hurry up, where are the others?” the guard called out.
Damian smiled faintly. “Ah, they went up,” he said, and jogged off with the returning group, leaving the five behind. 13Please respect copyright.PENANAFo2ypghOVy
Damian smirked as he slipped away from the group, moving quickly down the corridor. He had finally left the chaos behind, a small thrill running through him. Then a sharp voice cut through the basement air: “Young man… here!”
Damian froze, heart skipping a beat. It was the guard, calling him back. He hesitated for just a second, weighing his options, before jogging toward the voice, trying to catch up… and realizing the others were now out of sight. He lost himself again from the guards and the four men. He panicked as he heard Sienna called him “Where did you go?!”
“IS THERE A WAY OUT?!” Blake yelled, frustration and fear breaking through his bravado.
Behind them, Isabel Lily pressed close to Theo, trembling. Raven hovered near both of them, fingers brushing over her phone as she tried to turn on the flashlight. “Wait… lemme get it,” Theo said, fumbling with the phone — and dropped it.
A metallic clink echoed in the basement.
“What was that sound?!” Blake shouted, voice cracking. “No… it’s… a mistake,” Lily whispered, voice shaking, trying to calm herself as the darkness pressed in around them.
And there, in the dim light, the six of them stood... alone, lost, afraid… and unsure of what would come next.
