- Nothing, just trying to find a place where you won't kill us - I replied.
- Too bad you didn't make it - Dawn smirked. After that, the enemy agents opened fire.34Please respect copyright.PENANAlXKSlX55pK
We split our group so that the first few pellets pass in between us. Amber fought the woman in her twenties whilst we ran to the cabin, where we escaped through the shattered front window.
- Should we come back for her? - Claudius asked.
- RUN! JUST RUN, I CAN HANDLE MYSELF! - Amber had heard us. She was still fighting the woman. As the other enemies caught up with us, we had no choice but to leave her alone.
Rill was the closest to us and fired, but he missed.
- Hah, you missed! - Sebastian giggled, but then his smile disappeared as he realised what Rill actually wanted to hit: a lonely robot right next to us.
- Critical error: system compromised... - Those were the robot's final words before exploding and throwing us away with the blast's force. Due to the low gravity, we flew for quite a bit. I noticed that there was a plaque on Rill's old suit. It read: "Rill Gomana". What a weird surname!
However, that was the least of my concerns at the moment. We flew over the barrier of the catwalk and landed on a conveyor belt. I froze in horror upon seeing what was ahead of us. A crusher.
The crusher crushed chunks of ice into smaller and smaller bits, and if we didn't do something, we would share their fate. Luckily, Claudius grabbed a chunk of ice and threw it at a button, which reversed the direction of the conveyor. I was about to breathe a sigh of relief when I noticed that there was a massive saw blade behind us. However, due to the length of the belt, we had time to focus. I saw Rill standing on the catwalk and watching us, clearly entertained.
- There are pipes over there. On the count of three, we jump onto them and hope that we don't plummet to our demise - said Sebastian - One, two... three!
On "three", we all simultaneously jumped onto the pipes. They weren't the sturdiest thing ever, but it was better than certain painful death on the conveyor. We started hopping from one pipe to the next, which was made easier by the strength of gravity on the moon. If not for the fact that there was a gang of evil people wanting us dead, chasing us, this would have been pretty fun.
Rill quickly noticed our escape and jumped into pursuit. Literally. Unfortunately for him, his sheer size overpowered the pipe, and he smashed through it, falling out of our sight. We heard speedy footsteps above us as many people continued the chase.
A man who looked like an older version of Yasha dropped down in front of us and fired a few times, damaging the pipes and making us fall too.
- What are you doing, dummy?! You just opened an escape route for them! - Dawn yelled at the man, who instantly realised his mistake.
We landed on a lower floor of the factory. The landing itself wasn't comfortable at the slightest bit, but I didn't have time to focus on that, nor did the others. Rill landed a few feet behind us and already got up. We got running. Some stairs led us onto a yellow catwalk above some weird machine that pumped out a black liquid, presumably rocket fuel. As we ran, we had to be careful not to trip on the mess of wires on the ground. Rill just tore through them with his muscular legs as he chased us. However, that came back to bite him. Apparently, tearing the wires broke the pumping system above him, and the black liquid poured out onto him like a dark flood. This quickly took him out, which bought us some precious time.
Suddenly, Dawn and the woman with dyed hair dropped down onto the catwalk parallel to ours. They instantly started shooting at us. Their laser pellets knocked over a few barrels that fell behind us, preventing us from turning back. So we had to keep moving forward.
- Keep shooting, Alia! I will chase them down! - Dawn exclaimed before abandoning Alia, who continued firing at us. Her shots damaged quite a few things along the way, catching the attention of several robots, whom we now had to avoid whilst running away and trying not to get shot by both Dawn and Alia.
As the catwalk ended and we dropped onto the musty floor below, we decided to split up again. Claudius and Sebastian ran off to the left, whilst I went right. I had to contend with Alia and hide from her, but I reached a dead end when I ran into a giant robot. It looked like a white excavator with a mechanical claw instead of a shovel, and the cabin was gone, as the whole thing was automated. As I heard Alia getting closer, I did something very hasty: I jumped onto the robot.
First, I climbed a small pipe and grabbed onto the edge of the box-shaped body of the robot. I quickly climbed onto the top. I had to lie down on my belly, as standing would probably make me fall from all the swift movements and rotations the robot made. There was something that caught my attention: a control panel. Dozens of lines of code were appearing on the tiny monitor. I focused my attention on a button that switched it to manual control. I pressed it without hesitation, and the lines of code disappeared, replaced by a complex interface for manual steering. I just started pressing random buttons and saw what they did. Fortunately, the big claw in front of me blocked some of Alia's shots and protected me for now. I eventually learned what all the buttons do and started manoeuvring the claw. To Alia's surprise, I managed to knock her over. The hardness of the claw knocked her out cold. That was one enemy agent.
- Shoot them, or I'll shoot you! - A male voice exclaimed with a Russian accent. I turned the robot around to see him. The scene I saw ahead of me was pretty terrifying. The man who looked like an older version of Yasha was aiming their laser blaster at Amber's head, who was forced to aim her blaster and Claudius and Sebastian, who stood in front of her. I instantly stepped into action, extending the robot's arm and grabbing the enemy agent with the claw. The man dropped his blaster out of shock, which turned to horror as I threw him away from my friends. I wasn't entirely okay with hurting the guy, but the lives of my allies mattered more to me. I lowered the arm so that Amber, Sebastian and Claudius could climb to the body.
- Wow! - Amber exclaimed upon reaching me first - That was crazy!
- Don't overreact, we need to get moving - Sebastian replied coldly. I got up and followed the others off the robot. Ahead of us was an elevator that led to the surface. Dawn stood in it. To her right was a small room behind a glass pane where a previously unseen enemy agent was manipulating a strange panel. The agent was an old man, probably in his sixties or seventies. His dark green eyes gazed upon us as he left the room and joined the Dawn in the elevator. We were too far away to get to them when the lift started moving upwards.
- Have fun dying! - Dawn waved at us as a green gas started flowing out of the various pipes in the area.
- Why do you have to do this?! - Sebastian yelled after her, but she didn't reply. Shortly after, she and the old agent disappeared from our sight as the gas continued flowing out of the pipes. We were in a trap.
