Vera, a Tillian from the Elven patriarchy has the ability of precognition. Most of the time, her visions are accurate but there have been times where results are completely different. Back at the Elven, she is to be our guide. Our north star.
Without the cloak, her long brown hair and mid shade chuck hazel eyes was more defined. Her complexion of warm beige shown glimpses of honey when the sun wanted to be her friend.
Somehow, we found ourselves in Shark cove, a water port. I walked over to a fruit stand grabbing some Baiw fruit, it had purple stubs through the surface and radiated a burning orange color. "I'll take four and two of these "I pointed to the ween pods, griffons love those, and the nutrients is good for them.
Vera walks up to me tapping my shoulder and points to a woman with a black beak, feathers covered the entirety of her head and parts of her arms: in definition a crow.
"Is that her?" Vera asked leaning close to me in a whisper. We still must find five gems and the sword with its entity. Good thing that the amethyst gemstone is with the bottom part of the sword. Less word and traveling, I surmise. I drew my attention away from necklace I was looking at to our target.
The crow spotted us and started running away. Running after her by pushing my way through crowds of people. I clicked my tongue signaling Lotus to hit the sky as I swung my left hand to the right. A beam of light exhorts from a displayed mirror to the next. The crow slides under it and knocks a couple things over to my path to make it more difficult.
She already had a head start and the distance was incredible. Lotus swoops down allowing me to grab her feet, once the crow was in sight I took away my grip and aimed for her. When we finally collided, we rolled down the hill with me on top and dagger against her neck.
"I got you" I claimed pushing the dagger little harder. She began to laugh and smiled before asking "Do you?".
Rumbling noises caught my attention as the ground began to shake. Multiple clusters of rocks merged into five huge monsters. A bright light came from the rock monster further away. When it turned, the emerald gemstone still attached to the broken part of the sword came into view from its eye dent.
The bottom of my dagger's handle butts into the crow's face knocking her unconscious for now. Kylian and Vera found me. Kylian took out his sword and Vera staff ready with her right hand open showing a blue circle. "What are those things?" Vera asked, right after that one of the monsters threw a rock straight us. I grabbed the crows collar sliding her body over to a tree on the ground.
I need her alive!
I looked forward at my next target and charged at one of them. In the background, I could hear Kylian replying to Vera "Rock monsters. Shouldn't you know these things. Isn't basic training?" he turned his response into a question.
"Cooped in an underground operation for years do things to you" she replied detaching one of the monster's legs off only to have it reattach itself back. It starts laughing swinging its arm throwing her into a tree. "Shouldn't you have seen it coming" I joked having my dagger stuck itself into the monster's chest and yank the chain forward bring it closer. A bolt of light races through my weapon all around the monster but it does not do much damage.
Vera uses her staff to swing off a tree onto the other one's back. She glances over at me "ha-ha so funny. How we defeat them?" she yelled placing her staff over the neck of the monster leaning her body back.
"Get the gem" Kylian replied attacking the third rock monster. Rock; a hard mineral to break. Dually noted.
For some reason the monster I was on felt shaky. I glanced over at the bigger one with the emerald for an eye throwing rock at someone else not on our playing field. Black mist was wrapped around the emerald trying to get it out.
My dagger impaled itself into a tree close enough to my newfound opponent and enemy. The dagger cut through the mist making it disappears from the emerald. The taller figure turned stepping into a dark portal.
"Get the gemstone... I'll deal with this" I said jumping of the monster dodging its attack from the side. The others have it under control.
I retracted my blade putting it away. After a few moments, I found him turning my dagger into a sword and swings it only for culprit to miss it. "Out for another dance princess?" he smiled copying my stride.
"If you knew how to work both feet, Maverick" I replied. A trail of light covered my blade. The sword was brought up in a sideward motion and he dodges about to strike at me, but I stopped it by kicking him in the stomach. He let out a grunt in a lower stance with a smirk "I can work with this" he claims throwing what seemed to be a million dark spikes at me. My first reaction was to lunge to the side and rolled over to be behind a tree. I leaned back getting my blade trying to find the correct moment to attack.
I teleported using the light nearby turning the sword back into a dagger and found myself behind him with my blade as a new jewelry accessory to his neck.
"Why are you doing this? Why help Oasis" I asked.
Maverick was cowering over me since I am shorter, he had to be pulled further down because of the blade. He chuckles.
Is he amused?
He kept his head still and grabs my arm flipping me over his shoulder "I'm afraid that's none of your business" he stated walking away. The air left my body, but I was quick to recover.
I got him...
Is it too easy?
I charged forward jumping into a portal then appeared in front of him tacking him to the floor. I pressed the blade against his neck.
"After one dance, you're quite... what's the word? Oh, right clingy- "he crooked his head up more trying to remove himself from the tension of my blade.
"You wish, this is the closest you're going to get, princess" I remarked with a smile.
The ground felt unstable: Next thing, I knew was that the ground was no longer under us but over.
Then it went black.
