"Oof...I thought you said it was only 7 ft tall?" the green loc guard yells getting knocked into fallen beam. The minotaur stood 3 inches more that depicted proudly blowing breathe from its nostrils walking over to Kylian. Its eyes glows neon green that switches to red very few seconds, hair covers its back entirely as its arms showcased golden cuffs all over.
"Hey, excuse me, do you think you possibly reduce your size for my friend? It makes him question his manliness" Vera looks up at the minotaur, but it lifts his axe swing it her letting out a yell of sorts, yet she dodges by sliding under the blade as it comes from the left side. She looks around for a hiding place to regain energy until someone comes up with better. As she looks around and notice a crumbled wall partially together and runs behind it trying to catch her breath as the other took their turns in the battle. The princess glances over at her companion sharing an act of motion, she charges towards a pillar jumping off it. She turns sword into two smaller ones jumping onto the back of its neck before stabbing it in the eyes repeatedly as Kylian slashes the back on of the knees. This causes the minotaur to kneel throwing her off it into the knight as a reaction, he tries to catch her by wrapping both arms around her torso allowing his body to hit the ground first to the impact. Both figures slide among the ground before meeting the wall.
"We have to keep trying, it's bound to break" the seer explains watching the two before standing up completely signaling for Blaire to follow suit.
"How do you expect us to do that exactly? I don't height is a problem anymore" Sloane states getting up from Kylian arms and helps him up. The Minotaur slowly grows bigger before turning into multiplies of itself, 5 to be exact, each 6 ft tall. Vera begins running up the stairs in the center of the room, the minotaur's change their attention to the three on the main floor. She notices an iron chandelier over top of what looked to be pool of sorts in the middle of the room and says "I have a plan, just hold them off for me. I'll be quick. Blaire when I give the signal, do it!". With that said, the trio simply do what they are told. Five against three. What are the odds that they succeed? Every time one of the minotaur received an attack, they regenerate slowly or get back up as nothing has happened. Sloane brings her sword up sweeping it against one her components leg cutting it off and arm, green goo dresses the ground under it. Behind her another one's charges in her direction; she kneels flipping the blade towards it and impales it in the chest twisting it as a beam of light pushes it back into a pillar.
As Blaire was fighting her minotaur, she breaks off one of the horns smiling as it drops down forward on all fours touching its now nonexistent friend "guys, I think found their weakness" she explains but with that smile, it fades away. Its eyes glow pure red as it gets up charging at Blaire full speed now faster than ever "Nope, nope. I was very wrong! Very wrong! Don't go for the horns. Help!" she runs in the other direction around a pillar then cuts to a corner that led to somewhere else. Leaving only two to fend for themselves against four.
Sloane pushes her back against Kylian's getting ready for the attack. Five balls of yellow light float behind her back in a half circle formation. Acting quickly, the princess pushes against the ground heavily swing her swords upwards then to the side outward of her body. During this time, her companion dodge many of the blows leaving a few impressions on their bodies. He slides to the right jumping up and swing his blade to the right cutting off one their heads. The pair tries their best to fend off their opponents.
But that soon changes when all three runs over to the pond diving inside. The minotaur with its head cut off backs up stumbling into the pond with the head rolling after.
"What the..." one of the two says as the ground beneath them began to shake.
Meanwhile as the princess and her bodyguard were dealing with something. Blaire stops running. Takes a deep breath and keeps her back towards her furious opponent. Before it could come any closer, she is swinging her body in an upwards motion grabbing hold of one the horns as her other hand extends a set of claws. As a result, she places herself on its back digging deep into the right side of its face leave a couple gauges before it threw her off.
ROAR! It cups the side of its face which began to goose.
"How you like me now. Am I leaving a good impression on you?" she asks noticing a what seem to be left of a fallen knight and his shield. Acting quickly, she grabs it as the minotaur runs at her again. Blaire raises the shield getting ready for the attack and stares at the shield from behind.
For a few seconds, it was completely silent. No attack. Nothing. With a confuse look on her face, she cautiously lowers the shield. To her surprise, there was no minotaur in front of her but a man. His black hair laid back into a semi mane in between the strands of his hair were a pair of horns in good condition. He seems to be tall with heavy green eyes well one eye. For some reason the claw mark didn't disappear with his transformation.
"Thank you..." he states softly in a struggle through the pain and holds something in his hand tightly before passing out. In complete shock, she stood there for a moment trying to process what just happen. Blaire drops the shield realizing what needs to be done to help her friends. "I got it...I'll come back for you later" she explains about to head back to the main fight but stops herself once she noticed the man was naked. "
"I can't leave you like this" out of empathy, she pulls a curtain placing it on top of him and runs off to find her friends.
As the ground shook, the water turns red becoming somewhat brighter as a large figure emergence from it. The minotaur's had morphed into one big once again but this time bigger. A lot bigger. It grew maybe 5 feet taller with larger built.
Analyzing their new situation, Kylian gets down on one knee cupping his hands together as Sloane runs to him using the opportunity as a boost. Light emulates from her sword. She throws her arms up closer to her head. Face to face with the beast. It eyes glow red. Getting ready to strike the chest, she mustards up all her energy to finish this fight. Suddenly, the light from her sword disappears and so does the light around her body. In a flash, she found herself on the pile of crumbles. Cover in dust and debris.
"Sloane" Kylian yells running towards her, but the minotaur blocks his path by knocking him into a nearby pillar. Hearing the commotion, Blaire runs into the scene only to have the minotaur's tail sweep under her feet basically be push into a wall. As the minotaur walks towards the princess, it wraps its tail around Kylian's waist hanging him upside down. He tries to escape by stabbing it multiple times, doing so he kept his focus on her. "Get up! Sloane, I'm coming hold on" he yells trying to get loose. The minotaur gets closer standing only 4 yards away. Its axe is raised ready to end it when the iron chandelier falls on its head covering it. Vera squats down in front of the princess moving some of the rumble off her. The minotaur drops Kylian from the blow.
"Sorry it took so long. The rope attachment was little difficult" Vera explains removing more rumble. A roar erupts as the creature charges at Sloane and Vera, axe raised.
"Move out o- "
A white shield of light appears behind Vera protecting them from the blow. Her eyes were completely white. Her friend glances up at her as tears slowly form.
"You promised me you wouldn't do it. Vera, stop there must be another way. Please!" she pleads trying to get up as Vera walks away pushing the axe further. Holding up both hands in front trying to keep it off. While all this was happening, Kylian rushes over to Sloane wrapping one of her arms around his neck while his left arm captures her waist. She looks over at Kylian then Vera "My powers aren't working. Kylian, you need to stop her. It's going to kill her. Kylian stop this" she pleads trying to get out of his arms to save their friend, but he tightens his grip pulling her to him. Betrayal filled her face as looks at him. He knows about it. Maybe this whole time. The light in her hand flickers as she tries to break free.
Vera makes the light wrap around the minotaur making her and it raise from the ground. She smiles softly bringing the creature closer as it struggles to get down making it move around even more. "In this moment, I will set you free from your pain. In your eyes, I see all of you " she places both hands on its face. As they move up higher, the wind picks up keeping a barrier between them. Sloane finally pushes Kylian off and runs to Vera with the best of her ability. A beam of light blocks her path. She was about to walk through when a jolt of force pushes her back sliding her on the floor. Vera turns her head, her eyes soften once seeing Sloane and says "You cannot stop this. I'll stop by your castle sometime for tea..."
Sloane continued to cry running to the beam trying to get through, but it does the same thing as before.
"I need you, don't leave me!" she yells getting up.
Vera sighs shaking her head "and I will miss you" she smiles turning back around and closes her eyes as the minotaur starts screaming in pain. It's gone and replaced with four spirits.
"It is done" she claps her hands together kissing the top.
Boom!
A massive explosion appears making four spirits disappear. Her body hits the ground.
"Nooooo! Please. Please. You promised" she yells sliding over to Vera holding her closely. Sloane pulls down her friend's hood removing green strains of hair from her face. The color in her skin fades away in steady pace as her breathing becomes hard to predict. A blue tone light finds its way to through the windows and hits the two. Coughing erupts from Vera's throat as smile paste her lips, in that moment her duty was fulfilled. Guild the princess, release trapped souls in the process and got the chance to be human. Vera did exactly that. Assign to an earthy role. To be honest, she never expects to truly gain human emotions, but she feels why humans and worldly beings are profound in them. Holding pride as one of them but most importantly she felt companionship. Vera slides into her cloaks side taking out the silver danger that the crow gave her before placing it Sloane's hand.
In one breath, the last one. A tear falls down her cheek. She stops breathing. At the end of her body, it starts to turn into dust. In a matter of seconds, she was gone. Sloane looks at the dust running through her fingers crying. Hitting her fists into the ground.
"I could have saved her..." she states softly, her lover places his hand on her shoulder while trying to help her up "she's at peace now" he explains but she pushes him off. Raising one finger pointing at him. When looking in her confused eyes, he knew.
Sloane gets up on her own looking at the spot that Vera laid then turns her attention to Kylian "You knew...I could have saved her, we could have done something. Did she ask you not to?". Tears flood her eyes as she moves closer to him searching for his gaze. He looks down before returning to her.
"No, I made the call. she knew that nothing would have stopped it. Knowing you, that would be some resistance. Hurting yourself more" he reclaims reaching for her arm, but she moves away shaking her head. Everything could have been fine if she succeeded in collecting all gemstones but every time, she gets an inch closer, something pushes her an inch further.
"Do you think I found pleasure in doing this? Lying to you? She was my friend too..." he trails off stepping closer to her but steps back pointing to where Vera once laid. She stares at him angrily and says "She is your friend. You're acting as if she didn't just die in front of us just now". A dust pile of Vera's remains was on the floor. Looking around the room, Sloane finds a pocket size wooden box and starts scooping her remains inside until there was none left. She stands up not saying a word while walking out of the hall to leave.
To go home with nothing to show for it.
