Where am I?
Who's screaming?
My eyes open. In front of me stood a figure with their back turn me. Purple matter expelling from their hands. Oasis. Out of nowhere, my body is raising from the ground. We were in the center of the kingdom, the square. In view, many of the houses were partially destroyed with smoke coming from out the windows. On the left side of me were soldiers fighting each other or her men killing the villagers. She raised an army.
"You're awake... I heard from a birdy that you've been busy with the princess and not in the way I was expecting" she claims walking over to me placing both hands on my right arm.
"What are you doing?" I ask noticing people around us were running. People were on the floor dead, others fleeing. Burning buildings lit up the night sky and us in this chaos.
Oasis displays a sinister smile yet joyously. Her long brunette hair blows in the wind almost making her look pleasant until she smiles the way she does. She shifts her weight tucking one of her arms under the other. In her hand lay a gold reliquary of a heart which she gestures out of confusion "You mean this? Oh, it's nothing just a little something I need or the fact that I granting your wish? I seriously don't know what she's done to you. The man that I basically raise would become ill at the thought of fancy the one person that caused him pain. So much pain. I’m quite sadden that my boy has gone soft..." she trails off. My hand starts moving on its own in such a nature that I tried to pull it down. What is she doing to me? Shaking my head as black mist form around my body.
"At least, one of you is still my good boy..." she trails off playing with the relic by twirling it around her fingers.
"Please don't make me d-d-don't make me do this" I beg in stutters. A villager appears from alley trying to escape but one of the many fires cause a piece of house to come down stopping them in their path.
Oasis tilts her head staring up at me. "Make you do what? This is what you wanted, right? To get back at them. I'm just giving you a little push" she flicks her hand causing the mist to wrap around the villager's neck and pushes her in the wall. In the corner of my eye, I saw a small figure in the alley. A child. He reaches forward but someone stops him runs away with him in their arms. She gasps for air holding on what was choking her and prying at her neck. In a matter of seconds, she stops moving. Her body hits the floor. I killed his mother.
"You've done this before. It shouldn't be too hard. Matter a fact it should be warm and familiar..." she trails off appearing behind me. She leans on my back almost at ease with her hand on my shoulder. "Let me tell you a story... about a young, naive girl. She would wonder around the forest in her free time away from her so called 'duties’ as one's helper. Picking flowers and plants to make soothing ointments that were for her mother's back pain and her father's aching shoulders. In her family she was known to be a healer, never found with magic to explain the incredible work that she has done. After scavenging the forest floor for the whole day, she approaches her home. Small as the closets in the castle. Loud cries filled the air from the other side of the front door. The young girl barges into the room seeing her older sister in her bed covered in burnt marks with her father holding onto a thin hand that was used for care and her mother hugging the body of what was once her sister. There was a physician standing by the edge of the bed packing his stuff inside his bag. With a couple steps beside the girl, he placed a hand on her head leaving a couple pats then walk off out of sight. She couldn't move any further nor closer to what seemed to be her sister.
"He killed my little girl..." cried the father as the mother yelled out with all the ounce of energy she could conjured "Why... just why..." she held onto her child more softly caressing her hair with a small kiss on her forehead.
A small light appeared in the corner of the younger sister's eye. Lost in a trance, the little girl picks up what seemed to be a flower of sorts but could not identify the specimen. It must have fallen out of the physician's bag, she thought. Blue light comes into view from the middle of the flower; a voice interrupted her absence of mind "what is in your heart child? Is it revenge?". The light stays in the same spot "What they did to her must be called to action. To justice. Don't you think? Don't you seek a fair verdict? What will they do to your mother and father?" it asked only for her to hear. Her savior. It's light casted over the girl's doe eyes almost in a dance, she replied simply "to hurt them" with almost a questionable expression as if she knew any better. Of course, her parents could not hear her soft yet the hoarseness that layers over it.
"Then allow me to protect them for you. To be more than nothing to be everything. Shall you accept my offer?"
and I said "Yes" she explains chuckling a few times.
Two figures in purple matter appear dragging the King in our direction and drops him in front of me. So, this is the King, in the flesh.
"You..." I grab the side of my head remember that day. Flashbacks of me killing them. Their screams began to fill my head. My people...My father yet I couldn't do anything about it.
"You made me kill them!" I snark throwing a black mist in her direction which she deflects. She can't control me forever. If only I didn't have this stupid mark. Oasis rolls its eyes grabbing the Kings head making him face me. "Here I am trying to share a touching story about myself, and you try to hit me...Kids these days aways trying to hit mommy. I was going to tell you when you were older but eh, kids will be kids isn't that right your majesty?" she tilts her head from what it seems since I felt a shift on my back.
Stuck in place. That is what I am. A puppet. I could feel the black mist coming out my hands wrapping around him. Everything is a lie. I allowed myself to be deceived.
"Please don't kill me... Please...I have children, and they need me. Please..." he cries once he is a waken to only see me and no one else.
"Not when they're already dead" I am forced to say.
Noooo!
Snap!
"Good boy..." she pats my cheek and stood next me.
He's body hit the floor.
I'm sorry...Sloane.
I'm so sorry.
I glance down at my hands in shock watching his body roll off the platform. I've killed people before but... this is different.
I've changed right? Or maybe I'm fooling myself.
We got what we wanted brother...Vengeances.
Doesn't it taste sweet...?
A pulsing pain takes over my head. I fall to my knees holding it in place. The air in my lungs part from me in this moment as everything is dizzy. "Don't worry, mommy got you, but you will be dealt with..." she smiles as her finger trails down the side of my face. Each time I open my eyes; she was getting further away.
I'm sorry...
