A crown forms atop Yuni and the balance appeared behind her ' The angels said that the balance only stayed in one place because the demons were always the stronger side . Now that it's on my side , it's granting me more power '
Yuni turned to the balance ' Though they are the resistance of this world , now they've become the doom bringer ' Yuni thinks of whether the balance has a soul or not .
' Clearly it does as it was made from the wishes of people , its power came from worship but the prayer they give to the balance is a bit wrong and what they should've seek wasn't fairness but power so there must be someone who made a big enough wish for it to be born from or it could be a unity of people '
Yuni recalled the diversity of the race that was mentioned ' I should probably search for some history books to explain the lore , if this world wasn't made by my kids . Might be some good bargaining chips if I have some ' Yuni carried the illusion catalyst , thinking of how she could make use of it .
"Can you turn into something portable ?" " Of course , demon king of fiction " Balance became small and floated behind her and Yuni looked at the Catalyst , which had now turned into a necklace .
' I didn't mean the catalyst too , but it is convenient ' Yuni checks her book and thinks of the information it was leaking ' Ceil did say that a story starting with a protagonist with an unknown time and place is interesting , plus it'll be fitting for my title , isn't it ? '
Yuni leaves the castle and puts on the necklace as it hits her mandrake whistle ' I should probably sell this later , I already have this necklace that helps make illusions , which gave me that title , but it is pretty good , demon king of fiction . But I'm not a guy , so maybe make the title more inclusive ? It's not like you have to put a lot of effort you can just say "Crowned demon of fiction" instead '
Yuni checked her titles and found that it was already updated ' Oh perfect , I'd better get the next title then . ' Yuni sat back on the thrown and thought back on the delirium quest that was forced onto her .

' So they became a librarian ? ' Yuni exits the first-person viewpoint and senses a book that appeared in front of her ' Strange another book ' Yuni grabbed it and checked the title "Story of the crowned demons" . She checked the table of contents , which showed only two crowned demons .
' Now this is something I have to ask the query office when I get the time . Yuni checked the storybook of the world and found that the heroes were gonna go after Yuni already ' I can make use of the crown and the necklace to delay '
Yuni first checked the capabilities of the crown and used it together with the illusion necklace ' It says that the crown of fiction needs to use stories to be able to function , but it also gives them different perspectives , so the best thing I could use is the story about the abandoned mines '
Yuni reached into her inventory to get it , but remembered that it was in Karol's hands ' Now that's just bad ' Yuni thinks of her storybook and went to get it through Fame , but found something else .

She checks out the other stories and understands that she now has ownership over them ' That explains why Karol had to pay ' Yuni selected the mad forest and the abandoned mines to use on the crown of fiction .

The crown of fictions glows as it takes away the souls of demons to act as monsters in the mad forest and the illusion necklace triggers the abandoned mines' illusions ' Now the castle is protected , it'll buy me a lot of time '
Yuni delved into the memories of the next crowned demon , searching for the only thing that could end the story .
The heroes recuperate from the war ' She wants to end the story , but the ending I know involved the complete defeat of the heroes . There are even more variables that are in this round now that she has made contact with the angels . How would they feel if Yuni , a person who has many challenges aligned to being good , suddenly becomes a demon king ? '
Haggis didn't want this world to be destroyed with the angels descending to kill Yuni , he thinks of a plan , but couldn't think of much other than getting some information through the quest because the storybook was left on hiatus ' Why did it have to be now '
Meanwhile , Yuni noticed the time and braced herself for the challenge ' It's almost time for the next one , I wonder what I'll be getting '
[ Going to the city of angels ]
' Oh no ' Yuni was dragged to the city of angels and even balance was taken too . Balance gives Yuni a lot of blessings upon sensing the difference in power ' I can hear a lot of cracks ' Yuni thinks of how weakened the balance was becoming and takes out the stat stones .
The balance absorbed it quickly " Thank you " the blessings grew and Yuni wondered why it just increased ' I should find out how to make more of this they seem pretty useful ' Angels flew by her as Yuni noticed that there were some pitch black wings shrouded in a mist that carried her .
" What are you here for , crowned demon ? " the angel asked and Yuni checked her status screen , confirming that her race remained a cat beastkin "I'm still a cat beastkin , you know" " But that crown has made you the demon king " "Crowned Demon"
" We haven't descended because you have only recently ascended and the battle hasn't ended yet " Yuni wondered what the angels mean ' I guess they are pretty disappointed that a devotee like me suddenly became the bad guy , so what kind of quest is delirium forcing on me ? '
Yuni suddenly hears the sounds of many voices , it sang to her like a choir and burns her body ' So it's that kind of madness I'm encountering , it would've been a perfect kind of lore that Ceil would look forward to . The angels being the cause of the loss of sanity '
She gave the angels a smile which they found difficult to understand as they weren't able to see what Yuni was experiencing "Will you come down when I fail the mercy challenge ?" " No , we are aware that the mercy challenge has a prompt that makes it so that the greatest mercy to have is onto yourself "
' I figured that much , they'll probably only come down when I win the war , but that would force the balance to work with the inhabitants instead so I'll have to use them myself ' "Then you'll just have to wait"
As Yuni listened to the heavenly choir that sang songs of selflessness to chip away at the challenge of mercy ' There was no quest other than to listen to the choir and resist its effect . the angels watched Yuni simply sitting on a cloud and doing nothing .
The choir kept trying to overcome her challenges . Solo was challenged by songs of gatherings , blind was being challenged by praises of the light of the throne above , Invitations to seeing the melodious tunes hindered the silence , Mercy challenged by songs of sacrifices and selfless acts and illusions of joy , happiness and ecstacy tried to mess with sobriety .
' This is gonna be a long night '

The next morning , Yuni used the Balance to learn about the heroes condition ' Ironic that the balance makes this game unbalancewhen they can reveal the information to the other side but then again any non-neutral party can't get close but maybe because I was summoned as a hero but became the crowned demon I became a sort of neutral and opposing party ? '
She assumed the code for Balance was that only a balance of the two parties is allowed to be close during war ' It's a bit confusing that kind of code exists , but I should worry about ending the story , so let's look into the crowned demon of weapons '
Yuni used the crown of fiction again as the storybook of the crowned demons starts recording it . Yuni found herself in a storage room with many weapons and after the crowned demon's defeat , she witnessed the demon's sorrow over the lost crown .
' They sure are attached to the crown , it makes sense since they stole weapons and grew attached to them . Maybe the previous crowned demons also have that kind of problem , but they didn't care much . '
Yuni compared the pitiful third crowned demons sorrow to the indifference of the first two crowned demons .
' Lixa's crown was barely used , she was the one eating everything and the crown was packing all the power but she didn't need it . The second was the same , the crown only worked as a storage , but they valued knowledge more than the books itself '
She only got her attention to the crowns because the third crowned demon was especially attached to it , because it worked not only as a storage but also a weapon ' Maybe the crowned demon of poison is the same , they did strike me as a person who uses poison as a cowardly tactic '
Yuni experienced the memory of the next crowned demon king ' Now this one is the weakest crowned demon by far and because of that the Balance didn't bless the heroes as much , but this is when the Balance showed the worse performance ' Yuni started to criticize the Balance .
' Though they may be able to grant blessings , these blessings are usually random and even if they are equal in power , the crowd demon was smart enough to utilize its poison much better and weakened the military , which is when they gave more blessings to the heroes '
Finally , the last crowned demon before Rilvor ' the Crown of Disasters was just like the crown of weapons , both are created from the resources that the crowned demons have . The crown of weapons was made from stolen weapons , the crown of disaster was made by the crowned demon's power and worked as a catalyst '
She checked the crown of fiction and wondered what this was made of and assumed it must be related to Fame and Delirium working together ' Either way , the description is still being updated , so it might have to wait for a while but now that I got the five demon kings , I should check the one before me '
Yuni recalled how each crowned demon would be sent back to the demon realm upon defeat and lose their crown while they were being resurrected at the demon realm ' I assume they lost their crown one way or another , but from the looks of it , it might be in between the realms '
Yuni recalled the barrier that blocked both the city of angels and the earthly realm , then turned her attention to how she had a hard time going to the demon realm , especially with the warnings from the system .
' Although it wasn't hard to navigate since I know my destination but if I want those crowns I might have to try harder ' Yuni licked her lips and thinks of her children ' Surely Zaun would love to come to a trip like this and help me find the crown he might try to find a way to make use of it '
Yuni first thought of the storybook of the crowned demons and decided she must complete that first and so came Delirium which gave Yuni a quest which was to end the sequel .
' Wow , kill me and be resurrected as a demon , not exactly too bad I suppose , I've died a lot of times already playing some of those games my kids make '
As soon as she hit accept , six swords stab through her body and sent her soul into the demon realm ' Take care of my body will yah '

' It's a bit annoying that they didn't give me any hints but that will be fine ' Yuni was suddenly reborn into another demon annoyed by how increasing the intensity of delirium was and figured it must be related to the blessing that the balance gave her .
' Alright let's look for Rilvor's soul while I'm at it ' Yuni punched through the ground and still felt the challenges imposed onto her ' I'll need some strength I can't access my inventory but I don't need to ' Yuni thinks of the demon realm which was starving because of her ashes and suddenly received a notification .

' Doesn't that mean that the demon realm has become even worse ' Yuni could feel many effects placed on her ' It's really hard to visualize that , Ceil would complain a lot with a sloppy explanation like that '
Yuni checked the updating description and reads it "The demon realm's world barrier should've been healing and broken but still resistant to the effects the crowns would make but now that demon realm had two crowned demons in a short time frame the barrrier has greatly weaken and destroyed"
' Doesn't that just mean that the crowns are in here ? ' she didn't get an answer from the storybook because of her previous suggestion on keeping the storybook mysterious for plot .
' Guess I'll have to find out , for now I need to eat something , I'm experiencing hunger only , but who knows how hungry I need to be for sobriety to identify it as a status effect '
Yuni killed a demon and cooked them ' This is pretty much like an apocalyptic situation , Naul would like it and hoard all the supplies . I wonder how addicted that child is to apocalyptic novels . I introduced him to those things and he was extremely attracted to them . '
While she worries about her children she searched for Rilvor ' I barely even know what they look like other than from the illustrations moreover they may look different just like how the book said , it was luck that the five crowned demons were among the food I ate and the demons I killed at the castle '
Yuni searched around the grounds and sensed some demons cracking the ground to take out the liquid that creates a body and cupping the liquid on their hands to drink it . She follows the demons and find that each "egg" had a small developing fetus which was soaked in the little life giving liquid for the demon who couldn't scoop the rest .
' It seems like the ashes of hunger effect enhanced by the crown of hunger ' Yuni wasn't proficient in tracking the location and thinks of her children's favorite novels .
' If only I was a seer from those novels that Ceil reads ' Yuni thinks of the feeling she had when she was in the process of rewriting Rilvor's defeat , trying to feel what Rilvor is like , but decided .
' You know what they're all supposed to be demons who were under Rilvor's army so I'll just kill all of them ' Yuni started killing as many as she could while working on it and finally got enough demon essence to use to ascend back to the earthly realm .
The heroes were already at the entrance and later found themselves either inside a cave or at a forest ' The heroes are here better hurry up and compelte the story so I can confirm what Rilvor's crown should feel like '
The heroes were constantly lost and Haggis figured the gimmick that this must be related to how the abandoned mines and told everyone to close their eyes and walk around blindly because everything was just an illusion .
Though it was an efficient tactic the problem was that there were no rails like the mines so they had to trust their judgement . Haggis , who couldn't have remembered the entire layout of the castle was just as blind in searching for Yuni .
' If only I had a spell conveniently for a situation like this ' as the heroes were blindly walking around the bastle layout . Yuni finally finished taking in the memories of Rilvor and reads the storybook ' Better get the crowns and save the demon realm so I can end the storybooks '
Yuni got off the throne ' The second was able to create a proper map after deciphering the pathways , but it might be more unstable so the map would be useless '
She drew a magic circle to open the way into the demon realm ' This one is much stable but also punches a hole through space , the heroes might follow me here but they won't come far , unlike me they don't have the experience of challenging Delirium '
She completed the circle and activates it ' Now they can chase after me if they like ' a line cuts the throne and the opening widened , revealing a space containing several pathways " There she is " Yuni faced the heroes and smiled as she went into it .
[ Quest conditions changed ]
Haggis reads the case which had a drastic increase in difficulty ' I can't believe the variable is leading me to a very dangerous place already this kind of thing doesnt appear this early ' " What should we do ? "
Cela asked and Haggis turned back " Nothing there's no point in following her through we'll either end up at the demon realm or get lost ourselves " Haggis said as he wondered what Yuni was up to .
He checked the book and realise what it meant and quickly ran in . As soon as he stepped inside he looked around and saw Yuni already walking around ' This place is seems stable enough looks like it's still in stage one '
He looked for some stairs and ran towards them only for the platform to raise and bring him elsewhere ' Stage 2 instead ? ' as a regressor Haggis had a lot of information as he ran through the confusing space that the portal led .
Stage 1 was defined as a stable pathway between realms , stage 2 would define a breaking stage where the pathways are being constantly broken and healed which is even worse than 3 , which was completely broken pathways , because Stage 2 means he had to watch out for moving pathways .
It was a daring challenge to enter the space of moving pathways as they were being broken and healed constantly . Haggis got hit off a pathway and grabbed on to another which acted like a tread mill moving the platform to lead back to the earthly realm .
Yuni was able to avoid these as she continues to sense the stable locations that had established a landmark or checkpoint . Haggis quickly dropped himself onto a pathway beneath after one was about to slice him off .
Haggis ducked and hopped over another moving platform . Yuni hears his movements and used the illusion necklace to hinder him .
' He'll be useful so I'll just try to make him give up ' Haggis sensed the illusions and quickly used the mind's eye to properly navigate annoyed that Yuni who had so many challegnes was doing better than him in this moving 3d Maze .
Haggis felt a shift in gravity sensing that he was going reaching a place with more instability while Yuni smiled finding what she needed . She searches for the landmark and finally found the crown of restraint .
' Perfect ' as soon as she retrieved it she could sense Rilvor trying to get out of it upon sensing the power and quickly silenced him shutting out his voices . Yuni got off the stable platform and continued on to the moving maze .
' This place is growing more and more unstable by the minute , I remember making something like this except the bridges was much stable but I guess this in itself is also a game mechanic if used correctly ' Yuni sensed more broken pieces and assumed it must be the crown of disasters and went towards it .
' I'm still impressed that the system can function here , whoever built this must be a professional . I might be able to learn a thing or two on how to generate proper worlds and create a functioning system in a glitching area like this ' Yuni compared herself as an indie game developer while the person who developed this game as an AAA game developer .
Yuni sensed tiny shards about to hit her and quickly summoned a barrier to resist the attacks . She dashed towards the source of destruction and obtained the crown of disasters , she stored it away allowing the space to heal more .
' It's gotten more stable but what happened to the rest of it ? ' Haggis saw Yuni leave the storm of shards and ran after her with platforms that were now much more manageable to follow and walk on .
' What is she after ' Yuni charged into the demon realm door and once she did , several demons came out of different openings . She received a quest reward which was just the thing she would need to search for the crowns that fell into the demon realm .
' No it can't be ' Haggis quickly ran back to the earthly realm knowing that the horde of demons were making their way in and as he returned , a quest appeared .
[ Fight the massive hungry demon invasion ]
Haggis looked at the description and couldn't believe how much Yuni had caused demons to coem to the realm . He turned to the Balance " Everyone prepare for battle " As soon as the demons came out of the space of broken pathways , the Balance started to spread its blessings to the demons .
" SHTTTTT " The heroes attacked and many armed forces had to defend against the demons . Villages without any armed forces received blessings as well now that the demons weere not appearing at a fix point ' The balance is gonna crack ' Haggis looked at the balance cracking ' This is bad '
He turned to the city of angels and prayed " Please bring down some help " As he prayed , so did the others in the world . Yuni , who was in the demon realm , wished she could see the spectacle of many demon souls who fell as well as many criminals who were killed falling to be nourished by the demon realm's resurrection ability .
' Okay , they're beautiful but I'll need to be watching myself instead ' she searched for the crowns using the souls of the first four crowned demons trapped in a lamp which was the quest reward for navigating through the broken and healing pathways between realms to guide her .
