Analysis
To conclude Season 5, the episode focused on Gaara’s strength to defeat Seimei. It also looked at how all of the Konoha 11 are going to train harder while Naruto heads off for his two and a half years of training with Jiraiya.
At the beginning of the episode, Gaara partially transformed into the One-Tailed Shukaku. Eventually, everyone arrived to witness the fight between Gaara and Seimei. After some time, Sakura heals Naruto, who was injured by Seimei’s attacks. Moreover, Matsuri and Naruto told them about who the opponent was, what his plans were, and that he was stealing Gaara’s chakra.

Gaara versus Seimei.
At that moment, Seimei told Gaara, “I never imagined I would be fighting Shukaku himself, but far from dreading the battle, I’m delighted. It would allow me to prove that even his power is no match for the village of artisans’ ultimate ninja tool.” Gaara remembered how Naruto defeated him to save his friends, Sasuke and Sakura. Naruto showed him a different outlook on life and the importance of friends, which compelled Naruto to protect his precious friends. Therefore, Gaara understood that Naruto was strong because of the love he had for his friends. As a result, back in the present, Gaara returns to normal. His partially one-tailed Shukaku turned into sand that fell to the ground. Moreover, he stopped the transformation by using all his strength within him. In other words, he has chosen to depend on his powers because he knows he can’t control Shukaku. Gaara proves to be a dynamic character who continues to grow as a ninja.
Seimei, realising that Gaara was back to normal, launched his attack. He used the dark sword to extend it in Gaara’s direction. In response, Gaara managed to dodge it, but the dark sword hit his side. Despite the injuries, Gaara activated his Sand Tsunami. Using his sand, Gaara grinds up rocks and minerals underground into a huge volume of sand that he brings above the ground. The earth shakes as the sand surfaces, which Gaara then manipulates like a tsunami that crashes into Seimei. Seimei is battered multiple times by the waves of sand as they spread throughout the area. When the sand settles, the landscape is dramatically altered, taking on the appearance of a barren desert (Narutopedia Website).
However, Seimei activated the Kujaku Hurricane Formation to free himself of Gaara’s sand. This is a technique utilising Takumi Village’s special double-edged swords to create a vortex to push away materials covering the user’s body (Narutopedia Website). Seimei was draining Gaara’s chakra at that moment, using the infinite Kujaku armour, but he was in for a surprise.
The battle concludes with Gaara killing Seimei. Triumphant music plays in the background with a mix of drums, electric guitar, and a hint of uproar to signify Gaara’s victory. For instance, Gaara activated Extreme Tempered Ultimate Attack: Shukaku’s Pike. The Spear of Shukaku is the attack counterpart of the Shield of Shukaku. Like the shield, Gaara crushes the hardest materials from the ground using sand, this time in the form of a halberd in the shape of Shukaku’s hand (Narutopedia Website). As a result, his spear pierced Seimei in the chest, resulting in his armour and his weapons falling off. After some time, a dialogue took place between them:
Seimei (shocked): How? How did you? No, it’s impossible.
Gaara: You wouldn’t understand; you’re only a ninja tool; you turned your back on being human.
Seimei (annoyed): Ridiculous, it can’t be, it can’t be!
Thereafter, Seimei disappeared into the sand. To finalise the attack, Gaara activated the Giant Sand Burial. The sand compresses upon and grinds down Seimei, though on a far greater scale than the regular version. The large volume of sand used in the Quicksand Waterfall Flow is flattened out, and Seimei is repeatedly squeezed, preventing him from moving and ultimately crushing him to death (Narutopedia Website). Since Seimei was using Hoki’s body, it ultimately meant that Hoki also died. After he killed Seimei, the two Sand siblings and Konoha 11 came to check on Gaara. Eventually, Gaara passed out from exhaustion due to using too much of his chakra, as explained by Sakura.
At that moment, Kankuro remembered Gaara telling him that he would work hard to connect people in the sand village. An emotional piano and violin play in the background as Gaara once said to Kankuro, “I will work hard and connect to the people of this village; Naruto Uzumaki has brought me clarity. Until I met him, my ties to others brought only pain and sorrow, but he was always pushing me to redefine those ties. I think I finally understand the suffering, the sorrow, and the joy; these are feelings I can share with those around me.” His siblings couldn’t understand his pain as having a tailed beast sealed inside of him. So, when he met Naruto, who was also the host of a nine-tailed beast, Gaara found someone who understood him and gave him a different outlook on life. This further highlights the element of friendship between Naruto and Gaara.

Jiraiya and Kakashi arrive to find out that Seimei has already been defeated.
As they arrived, they stood at a distance; hence, a dialogue took place:
Kakashi: Would you look at that? We go to all the trouble of rushing to the rescue, and it’s all over.
Jiraiya: Huh, it appears that Naruto is coming along pretty well, not that he’s still an inexperienced knucklehead.
Kakashi: My, you are hard to please.
Jiraiya: You know it.
Though it’s good that Gaara defeated Seimei, it’s also kind of disappointing that Kakashi and Jiraiya arrived late. One would have loved to see their ninja technique tackle Seimei.
Everyone returns to the Hidden Leaf Village to resume their training. Ino requests to also become Tsunade’s student; Tenten is enraged by the fact that she was left out of the mission; and everyone says goodbye to Naruto, who is about to head off for his two-and-a-half years of training with Jiraiya (who returned with information about the Akatsuki’s plans). At the Leaf Hospital, Naruto and Gaara were recuperating due to their injuries. Eventually, Jiraiya was there and told Naruto about the Akatsuki and that he wanted to train Naruto. Jiraiya wants him to be ready to tackle any trouble the Akatsuki will cause in the future. So, Naruto made plans to pack for his journey.
The acoustic guitar plays in the background as the three Sand siblings and Matsuri prepare to leave the leaf village. As they said goodbye to Shikamaru, Matsuri asked Shikamaru to tell Naruto that she was thankful to Naruto for making her see the value of real effort and dedication. As she left, one could see the impact Naruto had on Matsuri in working towards becoming a fine shinobi.
At the Hokage headquarters office, Tsunade said to Shikamaru that his mission concerning Seimei’s situation was impressive. However, since he needs more experience, Tsunade will assign him a lot more missions to build up his experience. In response, Shikamaru complains that it’s too much work. Shikamaru has so much work to do as a chunin.
Triumphant music plays in the background with a mix of drums, a hint of uproar, electric guitar, and Japanese flute. Sakura was busy training to revive a fish with her medical ninjutsu. Eventually, she brought the huge fish back to life, and after some time, Ino arrived to see her. She asked Sakura if she could talk to Lady Tsunade. Eventually, Sakura agrees, which means that Sakura will be her boss while Ino will be her protégé.
At Rock Lee’s dojo, Choji, Shino, and Kiba (with Akamaru) were witnessing Tenten and Rock Lee training outside. Tenten was angry that she was left behind while everyone else went on the mission. She couldn’t attend the mission because she was assigned to another mission with another squad. At that moment, everyone planned to train just as hard as Naruto, who was leaving to train with Jiraiya.
Neji and Hinata are training hard at Hinata’s residence. Eventually, Neji stopped and told her that Naruto was about to leave.
Meanwhile, Naruto was eating ramen with Iruka at the Ichiraku Ramen Shop. When he heard that Naruto was leaving to train with Jiraiya, Iruka told him that he should remember to focus on his training. At that moment, Naruto wanted to say goodbye to one of the first people who cared about him. Eventually, Jiraiya arrived and told Naruto that it was time to go. As they left, Iruka said in his mind, “Good luck, Naruto.”
Along the way, Naruto stopped and looked at the mountain image of the Fourth Hokage. What’s the significance of his looking at that specific image? This will be revealed in the sequel, “Naruto Shippuden.” Afterwards, Naruto left with Jiraiya as they walked to the gate.
After some time, Hinata saw them leave from a distance. When Naruto was leaving, she blushed as she said in her mind, “I’m going to have to work hard to keep up with you, Naruto, but I’ll do it.” Hinata is going to miss her crush.
The episode ends as it shows Jiraiya and Naruto outside the gate of the leaf village as they prepare to train along their journey. This is the final season of the anime series “Naruto.”
The lesson from this episode is that one can find strength in people that they care about, just like Gaara, who defeated Seimei when he remembered how Naruto was strong when it came to protecting his friends.
