Analysis
The episode was centred on Lee’s training at his dojo, which led to the indirect capture of the intruder. Therefore, it was a situational irony where what happened was the opposite of what was expected. Other details will be mentioned in the analysis.
Light-hearted music with a mix of a high-pitched Japanese flute plays in the background. To start the episode, Naruto just came back from a solo mission where he was supposed to drop off a letter for Lady Tsunade, so he had to report back to her office. However, along the way, he saw a sign written, “Dojo Challenges,” which left Naruto curious to find out where it was located. So, he follows the directions that lead to the dojo located in the middle of the woods. Moreover, when he got inside the dojo, Naruto was slammed by Rock Lee’s leaf hurricane, which left a hole in the wall. Rock Lee did this because he thought Naruto had come to spar with him.
Rock Lee is hungry for a sparring match but has no one to spar with. He builds his dojo in the hopes of attracting challengers. When Rock Lee gave Naruto some tea, he told him the reason why he built the dojo. For instance, after he finished rebuilding the dojo, he distributed fliers at the Leaf Village and across nearby towns and villages because it would help further his training. Moreover, Lee said that since he was preoccupied with missions, he didn’t have time to develop his skills. He also said that even when he developed his skills, he couldn’t find a sparring partner to train with effectively, hence why he built the dojo. Therefore, since no one came to challenge him, Rock Lee begs Naruto to fight him, but Naruto isn’t willing to get beaten up again, so he rushes out to report to Tsunade.
Might Guy is so inspired by Lee’s motivation that he puts on a disguise to serve as the challenger that Lee seeks. After Naruto finished reporting to Tsunade about the solo mission, along the way, he saw Might Guy. Afterwards, they went to a restaurant, where Naruto told him about Rock Lee’s dojo. When Might Guy heard about this, he became teary-eyed and emotional, as is evident by his words, “So while I was away on my mission, Lee was so desperate for practice that he decided to open his dojo to train himself.” He was impressed, and when he heard that Rock Lee was struggling to find a sparring partner, that’s when he decided to put on a disguise so that he could serve as the challenger Lee sought. For instance, he wears a brown afro with a brown moustache, but the disguise doesn’t fully cover his identity. At this moment, one realises the bond Might Guy shares with his pupil. The fact that he was willing to put on a disguise so that Lee could have a sparring partner shows that Might Guy and Rock Lee share a close relationship as a master and a pupil.
But before he gets to challenge Lee, Guy is sidetracked by a mission. When Might Guy was about to leave with his disguise on, Sakura came to inform him that Tsunade needed to see him. When he got to her office, Tsunade said that they received an emergency distress call from Shikamaru’s squad, who were on a transport mission. She also went on to say, “We’re flying blind; we don’t know how strong the enemy is, and that’s why if we make a mistake in our initial encounter, this might turn into something major.” So, she instructs Might Guy to confirm the situation, and if they need reinforcements, he should inform them. Afterwards, Might Guy (who was still wearing his disguise) headed off and rushed outside the gate of the Leaf Village.
An intruder then shows up to spy on the village by impersonating Guy, but he unintentionally gets caught in Lee’s overzealous training match. So, when Might Guy left the village, the intruder decided to impersonate him; hence, the element of deception is evident here. Meanwhile, Naruto was telling Lee at the dojo that there was a certain traveller who came to challenge him. So, Naruto assumed that Might Guy was running late, and after Lee said he wanted to spar with Naruto, Naruto rushed out to find Might Guy at the Leaf Village.

Rock Lee spars with the intruder disguised as Might Guy.
While Naruto headed to the village, the intruder disguised as Might Guy came into the village, and when Naruto saw him, Naruto took the intruder to the dojo, thinking that it was the real Might Guy. So, when they arrived at the dojo, Lee challenged the intruder to a fight, and when the intruder agreed, he found himself getting beaten up by Lee’s taijutsu skills. When witnessing this, Naruto at first found it strange that Might Guy was not fighting Lee, but then assumed that he was not fighting because Lee could recognise his fighting techniques.
After realising Lee’s fighting strength, the intruder gives up the match, which leaves Lee happy for a bit. However, Naruto makes it worse for the intruder by telling Rock Lee that this is a warmup. As a result, Lee beats him up vigorously with his taijutsu skills.

The situational irony occurs when Might Guy arrives to assist Shikamaru’s squad.
When Might Guy got into the woods to save Ino, Shikamaru, and Choji, they said that they were attacked by monkeys because of the snacks Choji was carrying. Therefore, the cargo from the Land of Tea was safe. Moreover, Shikamaru explained that when Ino mistook the monkeys for a real enemy, she panicked, which compelled her to send out the distress message. Therefore, this was situational irony in the sense that what happened, which was them being attacked by monkeys, was the opposite of what was expected, which was that the leaf shinobi thought they were attacked by skilled shinobi.
After some time, Shikamaru’s squad pointed out Might Guy’s disguise, wondering what was going on. As a result, that’s when Might Guy headed off to see Rock Lee at his dojo.
Naruto takes over for him and fights evenly with Lee. Meanwhile, after some beatings the intruder got from Lee’s taijutsu skills, Lee finished off the fight by slamming him against the wall. Naruto got worried as he went outside to check if Might Guy (the intruder) was okay. So, when the intruder gave an excuse that he needed to rest, he begged Naruto to fight Lee. Therefore, Naruto disguised himself as Might Guy with the disguise.

Rock Lee spars with Naruto, disguised as Might Guy.
Rock Lee and Naruto (disguised as Might Guy) fight against each other. First, Naruto activated his Shadow Clone Jutsu, but Lee defeated him with the Leaf Hurricane. Second, Rock Lee caught the shadow clone that was above the ceiling using his Primary Lotus technique. Moreover, when Lee got distracted, Naruto suddenly came from the floor to punch Lee, but he missed. Last, Naruto activated his shadow clones, and this time he disguised them as Sakura because he knew that Sakura was Lee’s weakness. When Lee saw the shadow clones disguised as Sakura, he was smitten, and while he was distracted, the Sakura shadow clones punched him in the jaw, and he fell to the floor. Afterwards, Rock Lee slowly gets up to fight the clones. This shows that Rock Lee and Naruto are equally matched when it comes to their ninja techniques.
Meanwhile, the intruder (who was still disguised as Might Guy) was watching outside of the dojo, saying in his mind, “A couple of spoiled brats; they sure do fight at an exceptionally high level. I suppose that the rumours that they lost their strength were just lies. I need to do more sneaking around to get the real story.” So, since his form was becoming a problem, he changed into Rock Lee.
... and the intruder takes on Lee’s form but runs into the real Guy, who has come to take the challenge and is easily defeated. The real Might Guy challenged the fake Lee to a fight. Meanwhile, when the real Lee and Naruto (disguised as Might Guy) finished fighting, they were both taking a break until the fake Lee was tossed inside the dojo by the real Might Guy. He went on to slam the fake Lee through a wall, which left a hole. Afterwards, Naruto revealed his disguise, and the real Might Guy’s disguise was revealed. Moreover, after Lee realised that the real challenger was Might Guy all along, and Might Guy realised he had slammed the fake Lee into the wall, that’s when they put two and two together and decided that the fake Lee was the intruder. However, they were not aware of his identity yet, so they all headed off to the Hokage’s office.
After hearing of the intruder’s identity, Guy drops him off in Tsunade’s office, angering her. When they arrived at the office with the intruder on Might Guy’s back, that’s when Tsunade mentioned his identity. She wanted to send them on a mission to find a ninja from the land of the valley named Nanafushi, who was rumoured to be spying on the leaf village. So, when she showed them the picture of the intruder, that’s when Might Guy left him on her floor and left with Naruto and Rock Lee. As they were leaving, Tsunade was yelling, demanding an explanation of how they captured the intruder; hence, the mission was completed indirectly. This concludes the episode.
