“The Byakugan Sees the Blind Spot”
“As Naruto is faring poorly in the battle with Jiga, Hinata arrives. Although Hinata is initially unable to damage him, she realises that his magnetism is his potential weakness. She uses her Byakugan to interfere with his chakra, rendering Jiga unable to turn off his magnetism and burying himself alive in a vortex of iron sand. Naruto saves Hinata from the vortex, and as she and Yurinojou are too badly injured to fight, he goes to find the princess on his own. Hinata, Choji, and Yurinojou are kidnapped by the third brother, along with several ninjas. The last criminal brother, Renga, who can manipulate the water vapour in the air to the extent that he can control sunlight, encounters Naruto and Haruna.”

Analysis
The following analysis will look at how Hinata defeated Jiga, Princess Haruna revealed more about her past to Naruto, and Renga was introduced in this episode. I'll mention other details later.
Before examining the analysis, it is essential to note a few points about Jiga. As asserted by the Narutopedia Website, from an early age, Jiga had ingested iron, which eventually allowed him the ability to magnetise his body and other surrounding objects. He could use his magnetism to disrupt the electrical impulses in the brain, effectively blocking a person’s entire nervous system from functioning. He could also rip metallic ore and rocks from his environment to make makeshift projectiles to overwhelm an opponent. He turns this ability on and off by slapping his stomach. This ability had a glaring weakness for those who could exploit it, such as Hinata, which I will demonstrate in this analysis.
The episode starts when Princess Haruna is lying on the ground, unconscious, at a nearby lake during the night. Meanwhile, at the Hokage’s headquarters, Shizune informed Lady Tsunade about the coup in the Land of Greens. Shizune also mentioned that the lord of the land had been overthrown with the help of some of his very own people. In other words, the feudal lord was betrayed by his residents. Moreover, since Tsunade sent Naruto’s team on a D-Rank mission to escort the merchants, Shizune reads the map and assumes that Naruto’s team has already crossed the border to escort the merchants. However, Tsunade realised that somehow the D-Rank mission was linked to the coup d’état. Instead of worrying about Naruto’s team, she instructs Shizune to summon every available ninja to get them ready to move on the Land of Greens because the longer the Land of Greens remains captured by the enemies, the more likely a full-scale war will break out. Therefore, this is foreshadowing to hint at what is going to happen later in the plot, which is probably the next episode.
As Naruto is faring poorly in the battle with Jiga, Hinata arrives. Tense music plays in the background to symbolise the dangerous situation Naruto is in. The setting takes place in a deep pit or canyon. For instance, when he tried to get up, Jiga activated his Ninja Art Magnet: Electromagnetic Illusion on Naruto, where it seems that Naruto is trapped in a genjutsu. As stated by the Narutopedia Website, this technique unleashes a wave of iron sand that stops the brainwaves of anyone who is caught in its vicinity. By disrupting the electrical waves in the brain, the opponent is rendered unable to think or move. Therefore, to support this assertion, Jiga said to Hinata, “Save your breath; he can’t hear you. My magnetic sand interferes with the electric impulses in his brain.” In other words, Naruto can’t hear anything or think straight. So, Jiga takes advantage of Naruto’s lack of concentration by wrapping Naruto with his magnetic cable. Moreover, to finish the final blow, Jiga tosses a kunai wrapped in a paper bomb into the pit, which causes an explosion, and Naruto is left buried under the rocks. When Hinata saw this from above, she got down in the pit to check if Naruto was all right.

The battle between Jiga and Hinata begins.
Intense music plays in the background with a mix of electric guitars to symbolise that Hinata is now in danger. For instance, when Hinata realised that Naruto was still alive, he told her to leave, but Hinata refused. As a result, Hinata gets up, looks in Jiga’s direction, and activates her Byakugan. So, on offence, Jiga tried the electromagnetic illusion on Hinata, but his attack was ineffective when Hinata activated her Protective 8 Trigrams: 64 Palms to block his illusion. To support the claim that Hinata’s jutsu was effective, the Narutopedia website stated that when used defensively, Hinata creates much larger, stronger, more flexible, arc-shaped chakra blades that spread out across her entire attack range, effectively forming a barricade between herself and her opponents, rebuffing even the largest and smallest of targets, which in this case was Jiga’s electromagnetic illusion jutsu.
After realising that his electromagnetic illusion jutsu was ineffective, Jiga resorted to wrapping the magnetic cable around Hinata, but she dodged his attack, came close to where he was standing and started hitting him with her gentle fist. At that moment, he seemingly falls, but it was just his tactic to wrap Hinata with his magnetic rope. In response to his attack, Hinata tossed kunai at him, but they got caught in his magnetic rope, which resulted in her falling to the ground. After some time, Jiga started coercing Hinata to tell him where the princess was, and in exchange, he said he might be willing to let her and Naruto live. In response to his sentiment, Hinata refused.
After Hinata refused to tell him the princess’s whereabouts, Jiga tossed the various kunai he got from Hinata in the air and magnetised the rock wall behind her. He said to Hinata that since he could turn any rocks into a powerful magnet, he could defeat Hinata easily; hence, Hinata had nowhere to run. Afterwards, Jiga’s various kunai came in Hinata’s direction; however, Hinata escaped by using paper bombs, which caused an explosion. Although Hinata diverted the various kunai using the paper bomb at the last minute, Jiga saw a blood trail on the ground and followed her while Naruto remained behind in the dry rock area buried under rocks.

Hinata figures out a strategy to defeat Jiga.
Although Hinata is initially unable to damage him, she realises that his magnetism is his potential weakness. While Hinata ran away into the woods with some injuries on her shoulder, she could sense that Jiga was following her using her Byakugan. When Jiga came close to her, he tried to inflict damage using his magnetic rope, but luckily, Hinata dodged his attack. Moreover, while she was running in the woods, she noticed something in her hand and said to herself in her mind, “What’s this? Some kind of iron sand? That’s what he was doing—knocking off the iron sand that his magnetised body had attracted. That’s why he didn’t attack me right away; he had to shake off the magnetic sand from his body. If he doesn’t, he will attract the very weapons he uses against us. That explains his pattern of attack, alternating a ninja art magnet with an iron sand genjutsu. It’s as if he must give himself enough time to turn his magnetised body on and off. Perhaps there is a way to defeat him after all.” At that moment, Hinata decided to use a strategy to defeat her opponent and realised that magnetism was his potential weakness.
She uses her Byakugan to interfere with his chakra, rendering Jiga unable to turn off his magnetism and burying himself alive in a vortex of iron sand. After she figures out his weakness, Hinata begins using her strategy when she reaches the end of the cliff, where Jiga arrives first. First, she activated her Byakugan to check his chakra network. Second, when Jiga wrapped Hinata with his magnetic rope, he pulled her towards him. Moreover, she holds onto the rope, and when she gets close to him, she seemingly punches him with a gentle fist. Last, although Jiga had stomped her stomach, Hinata had already disturbed his chakra network by sticking her two fingers in his stomach. To finish off her strategy, she pushed Jiga and herself into the deep pit so that iron sand would attach to his body as a magnet.
We see the fruition of this strategy when they both land in the deep pit. Before he can finish her off with his magnetic ninja art, the potential risk of his technique is exploited when Hinata Hyūga introduces an interfering electric current into his chakra, causing him to become a powerful magnet. In this state, he attracts a large quantity of iron sand to himself and is forced into a vortex of sand and killed (Narutopedia Website). To support this, Hinata said to Jiga, “Just now, I hit one of your chakra points, disrupting the flow of chakra through your body, and now, your body is a powerful magnet that can’t switch off.” Hence why she led him into the canyon full of iron sand. At this moment, Hinata has proved to be a dynamic character who continues to grow as a ninja in terms of using strategy to defeat an opponent rather than relying on physical ninja techniques only.
After she defeated Jiga, she passed out while the vortex began to push everything underground.
Meanwhile, Choji arrived at the dry rock area to free Naruto from the rocks he was buried in using his human boulder technique. Yurinojo is there as well, and when Naruto informs them of what happened, he realises that Hinata is in danger. So, despite his injuries, he gets up to save Hinata.
Naruto saves Hinata from the vortex, and as she and Yurinojou are too badly injured to fight, he goes to find the princess on his own. He saved her using his shadow clones as a rope in the deep pit as he grabbed her hand and tossed her into Choji’s arms. While she was still in Choji’s arms, she told Naruto that she had defeated Jiga and that he was buried under iron sand. When Naruto heard this, he said to Hinata, “Man, Hinata, you’re amazing! You saw how well I handled him.” He was impressed, and in response to Naruto’s words, she said, “You don’t know what that means coming from you, Naruto.” She was thankful, and afterwards, she gave Naruto the headband she found in the dry rock area. So, since Hinata was injured, Choji and Yurinojo stayed behind to take care of her, while Naruto headed off to find Princess Haruna.

The arrival of the first criminal brother: Renga
While Naruto left to find Haruna, Renga and his two masked ninjas were spying on them from a distance as they were standing in the trees. After realising that his brothers were defeated, Renga said, “Well, who would have thought that Ruiga and Jiga had both been defeated? Hah, it saves me the trouble, but still, there’s not a person alive who could defeat my jutsu. I sense today is going to be a sunny day.” Afterwards, he activated his defensive technique of creating highly durable shields or disks to stand on to “float.” (Narutopedia Website). Therefore, since it was a sunny day, that is how he could hover in the sky until he reached the area where Hinata, Choji, and Yurinojo were located. Moreover, it explains why he didn’t fight them first in previous episodes. When his brothers were fighting against their opponents, it was during the night when Renga’s technique could only be utilised during the day; hence, that’s his weakness. Moreover, since he is introduced in this scene, he brings a sense of mystery to the audience, hence making them curious to watch other episodes concerning him.

Princess Haruna reveals more about her past to Naruto.
While Renga utilises his plan to kidnap Hinata, Choji, and Yurinojo, Naruto finds the princess lying in the woods, unconscious, at the nearby lake. Moreover, there is mist surrounding the area. While they are seated on the ground, emotional music plays in the background with a mix of piano and violin to symbolise that Haruna is about to reveal more about her past to Naruto; hence, a dialogue takes place between them:
Haruna: I’m all alone now; I can’t depend on anyone. The rest of you are only here to assure my survival, nothing else. As long as I survive, there’s a chance the land of greens can be restored; that’s all that matters in the end, isn’t it? I am the rightful heir; I must reclaim the power that is rightfully mine. Once I’m lord of the land of greens, the people will flock to serve me, their faith restored. The land will be back to what it once was!
Naruto: You think? I’m not so sure about that.
Haruna: Are you saying the land of greens can never be great again?!
Naruto: No, no, that’s not what I meant. What I was thinking was that if I lived in your land, I would be one of your people if I were a ninja like Yurinojo. What I’m trying to say is that I don’t think I would be able to serve a lot like you.
She gets offended as she grabs his collar and lifts him.
Haruna (offended): How dare you! How dare you say that? What can you possibly know about it? You know nothing of what I have gone through, living my life as a hostage ever since I was a child! I was surrounded by strangers, watched 24 hours a day, and never got to do anything that I wanted. You have no idea of the loneliness. I couldn’t take it, and eventually, I became very ill. I almost died before my parents finally let me come home.
She started shoving Naruto and cried as she went on to say.
Haruna: Say it! If you think something is wrong with that, say it, Naruto! Could it be wrong when it was all for the sake of the land of greens? Is it wrong for a mother and father to send their child away to live among strangers as a hostage? Is it Naruto? Answer me
Naruto, with a sympathetic look on his face, didn’t say anything as she slowly let him go. She went on to say:
Haruna: I depend on no one; I will do this on my own.
The dialogue shows more details about Haruna’s past. The way she poured out her feelings about it still affects her, hence why she was already rude and cold to the people around her. Since her parents treated her as a hostage, all for the sake of the land of greens, it is obvious that she didn’t have an emotional attachment to her parents, except to follow orders. This further explains why she doesn’t trust anyone and is cold to everyone she meets. She depends on no one because she doesn’t want to feel the sense of abandonment she felt when she was a kid; hence, the element of loneliness is evident here, which is supported by the emotional music playing in the background. Nonetheless, since Naruto, the protagonist, is here with her, he is not going to abandon her, as will be revealed in the dialogue below:
As she walked away, Naruto said:
Naruto: Hold on; I’m coming with you.
He follows her behind as he proceeds to say:
Naruto: Like it or not, I made a promise to Hinata that I’m going to protect you.
When she heard his words, she stopped and looked at Naruto. Moreover, the music switched to a Japanese guitar playing in the background with a moderate sound.
Haruna: Hinata?
Naruto (nods): She got pretty badly injured fighting that second ninja who was after you.
Haruna (stunned): She what? But I was sure that you and the rest had decided that protecting me wasn’t part of your mission. If that’s true, why are you doing this?
Naruto: It’s just the way we are. We don’t like it when we see somebody getting a raw deal, even if that somebody isn’t maybe not the nicest person in the world. But that’s not important; there’s an arrow canyon up ahead, and we’ve got to get through it. The village is on the other side, and hopefully, they won’t follow us there.
Afterwards, he grabbed her hand and said, “Come on, let’s go,” as they ran off in the direction of the land of greens.
In that moment, Haruna starts to realise that there are people like Naruto and Hinata with good intentions to protect her well-being. Could it be the start of her being kind to others? Only time will tell.
Hinata, Choji, and Yurinojou are kidnapped by the third brother, along with several ninjas. While Naruto is on their way to the Land of Greens, intense music plays in the background with a mix of electric guitar and drums to symbolise that Renga is kidnapping Hinata, Choji, and Yurinojo. When Choji was carrying Hinata on his back with Yurinojo accompanying him, they were ambushed by Renga and his masked ninjas in the woods covered with mist. It is a sunny day, and Renga instructs his masked ninjas to take them to the castle.
The last criminal brother, Renga, who can manipulate the water vapour in the air to the extent that he can control sunlight, encounters Naruto and Haruna. When Naruto reaches the end of the cliff, they see the Land of Greens from a distance. However, before they could go any further, there was an explosion caused by Renga. After some time, Naruto and Princess Haruna came face-to-face with Renga, who was hovering in the sky. What will happen next? This leaves us in suspense until we watch the next episode.
The lesson from this episode is that what goes around comes around. For instance, when Jiga killed his brother Ruiga, he was killed by Hinata for his arrogance, which in this case was poetic justice for Ruiga.
