Analysis
At the beginning of the episode, a full moon appears during the night. Moreover, dramatic music plays in the background to show certain moments that happened in the previous episode. First, it was revealed that the Sound Four have the same curse mark as Sasuke. Second, there was a scene between Sasuke and Sakura where Sasuke knocked her unconscious. The music then stops to show the title of the episode.

On the way, they find Sakura close to the gate and wake her up. When she wakes up, she realises Sasuke has already left, making her cry. As a result, we see the significance of the supporting characters, Kotetsu and Izumo, because they act as messengers between Sakura and Tsunade. When they heard her story, the two of them informed Tsunade about Sasuke leaving the Hidden Leaf Village.
When they inform Tsunade about Sasuke leaving the village, creepy music plays in the background as Tsunade says in her mind, “I can’t believe it. He’s already making his move.” At that moment, she sees Orochimaru in her mind, which gives us the insight that Orochimaru wants Sasuke’s powers for his selfish intentions. Afterwards, the creepy music stops playing in the background. This proves that Orochimaru is the antagonist in this anime, who keeps the storyline alive. Moreover, it also gives the audience an insight into why Orochimaru is evil. He is willing to use Sasuke for his selfish desires, hence why Tsunade instructed Izumo and Kotetsu to find Shikamaru Nara.

He knows that if he has Jonin and Chunin, the mission will be a success. However, it is not possible to have Jonin and Chunin because they are out on missions. Moreover, only a handful stayed in the village in case of an attack, which caused the dramatic music to stop playing in the background. This shows that it was a situational irony where what happens, which is that the Genin are sent on this dangerous mission, is the opposite of what is appropriate, which was supposed to be the Jonin and Chunin saving Sasuke.
Since Jonin and Chunin are busy on other missions, Team Genin is the only one left to save Sasuke. So, Tsunade recommended that Naruto be part of the team to save Sasuke. At this moment, it shows that Tsunade has faith in Naruto because she believes the mission will be successful if Naruto is part of the rescue team.

Moreover, to signify that he is the perfect person for the job, an electric piano and a marimba instrument play in the background while Shikamaru is giving orders to his teammates. Furthermore, the music also signifies Shikamaru’s importance as a leader in this episode, which makes the audience appreciate him as a significant character.
Moreover, the audience sees another side of Shikamaru. He said he was willing to put his life on the line for Sasuke and take responsibility for taking care of his team. In contrast to his laziness and lack of seriousness at times, he has shown himself to be brave because he is mature and focused. All of these are important qualities for a Chunin. Therefore, that is why Shikamaru was chosen as a chunin, which proves why he is a dynamic character who continues to grow as a ninja.

Naruto promises Sakura that he will bring Sasuke back; hence, it shows something about Naruto’s character. He cares about the people who matter to him the most because he is willing to do anything for them. Therefore, that is why he made the promise. Another probable reason is that, deep down, he loves Sakura, so it hurts him to see her suffering. In other words, Naruto is the type of character who will do whatever it takes to help his friends. Therefore, he is a round character who seems like a real person in real life, caring about their friends. Afterwards, positive music plays in the background with a mix of Japanese flutes to signify the hope that Naruto will bring Sasuke back.
Meanwhile, negative music plays in the background with a deep bass sound. It is very dramatic and creepy, as Sasuke is with the Sound Four Ninjas. However, things get intense when one of the Sound Four Ninjas says, “Before we go any further, I’m afraid you must die just this once.” What will happen to Sasuke? This leaves the episode in suspense until the next episode.
The lesson from this episode is that one should not judge people quickly before getting to know them. At first, Sakura thought Naruto was annoying, but she later realised that Naruto was a good friend. Second, Shikamaru seemed lazy and not serious. However, in this episode, he is shown to be mature and responsible; hence, this episode was informative and inspiring.
