"Oh, wait, we met you before. You're that pneumarian of light from the council," I pointed out. "I was surprised by your excitement at first. It contrasts with the collected, serene personality we witnessed in the Royal Palace."
Meira grinned.
"Ah. In a gathering with the other Crest Heads, I must take my job seriously. Many among them would run over me if I, the First Spiritan Commander, don't display authority."
"That's understandable," Za'Fia nodded.
"Yes, but more importantly, what do you say you and I talk for a moment?" Avarice said, showing off some of his gold, which caught Meira's attention. I could almost see the money signs in her eyes.
The two of them spent the next half hour, which felt like an eternity, discussing global acquisitions, finances, and distributions, among other things, until I eventually decided to move on. I had zero interest in corporate talk. I wouldn't have to endure this as Crest Head, would I?
The possibility occurred to me after I practically pried the two minds apart, and we flew off to the next destination. If so, I could leave the numbers to Avarice...what was I thinking, he'd take advantage the moment I stopped watching him.
Viraa giggled.
What's so funny? I asked her.
You have a lot of work ahead of you as the Crest Head of the Chimera Crest.
Does that have something to do with whatever state it's in that was mentioned earlier? I asked.
