The sun rose over the Colosseum of Judgment, casting long, harsh shadows across the obsidian floor. The air was heavy, not just with the heat of the day, but with the suffocating pressure of the Council’s gaze. The crowd, sensing blood, buzzed with a fervor more intense than the day before.
Elder Corvus Myrik stepped to the edge of the platform, his scarred face twisted into a cruel grin.
"DAY THREE. ROUND THREE," his voice boomed, amplified by magic to rattle the bones of the fighters below. "THE FIVE UNIVERSES HAVE PROVEN RESILIENT. TOO RESILIENT. THEREFORE, THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT HAVE CHANGED."
He paused, letting the silence stretch.
"THIS ROUND WILL BE TWO VERSUS ONE. TWO WARRIORS OF THE SIX KINGDOMS SHALL FACE A SINGLE CHAMPION OF THE FIVE UNIVERSES."
A murmur of shock rippled through the spectators, but it was quickly replaced by cheers of approval.
In the waiting area, Captain Daichi didn't flinch. He crossed his arms, staring at the display board. "I knew it," he muttered to Saber. "They realize they can't beat us in a fair fight, even with their numbers. They're trying to crush us with weight."
"Cowards," Kai Sunblade spat, his solar aura flaring.
"It doesn't matter," Saber replied, his hand resting on the hilt of his blade. "They have 18 fighters left. We have 15. Some of them will have to fight twice to make the numbers work. We just have to survive."
High above, the Elders conversed in hushed tones. "This will end it," Elder Rainer Solrenn sneered. "The disparity is too great. By sunset, the Five Universes will be a memory."
"FIGHT 47: LYXA MORVAIN (AREALA) VS. ORACLE (TECHNOLOGY) & SERAPHIEL THE PURE (LIGHT)"
Lyxa Morvain stepped onto the black stone, her silver braid swinging behind her. Opposite her, two figures emerged. Oracle, her visor humming with data streams, and Seraphiel, glowing with an aura of divine sanctity.
Lyxa stopped in the center of the arena, looking between the two opponents. A smirk touched her lips.
"It's a shame," Lyxa called out, her voice clear and mocking. "You're about to fight me two-on-one, and you're still going to lose."
Oracle tapped her temple. "Arrogance detected. Probability of victory: 99.8%."
"May the light purify your ignorance," Seraphiel added, raising her staff.
The battle began instantly. Seraphiel cast Sanctified Binding, chains of light erupting from the floor to pin Lyxa, while Oracle fired a barrage of calculated energy shots from her wrist cannons, aiming exactly where Lyxa would dodge.
It was a flawless, coordinated assault. Lyxa wove through the energy shots, but the light chains snagged her ankle.
"Got you," Oracle stated. "Target locked."
But Lyxa’s eyes glowed a brilliant silver. She looked at the chains, then at the tech. Adaptation: Mirror Frequency.
"I've seen enough," Lyxa whispered.
Her body seemed to glitch, vibrating at the exact frequency of Oracle's tech. The light chains shattered as if they were made of glass. Lyxa moved, faster this time, mimicking the divine speed she had observed in previous matches.
She appeared between them.
"Double Strike: Adaptive Impact."
She struck Seraphiel with her left palm, unleashing a pulse of disrupted mana that shattered the healer's aura. Simultaneously, she kicked Oracle with her right leg, the impact carrying an EMP-like shock she had copied from the tech warrior earlier.
CRACK. BZZT.
Both opponents were launched in opposite directions, crashing into the arena walls. They slid to the ground, unconscious.
"ORACLE - ELIMINATED. SERAPHIEL THE PURE - ELIMINATED."
The crowd fell silent. Lyxa stood alone, dusting off her hands. "Next."
The royal telegraphic guards rushed in, scanning the fallen bodies of Oracle and Seraphiel. The crystal devices pulsed rapidly, greedily absorbing the data of the high-level healer and the technomancer.
Score: 5U: 15 Fighters Left vs. 6K: 16 Fighters Left.
"FIGHT 48: LUNA TIDEWEAVER (KAIPO) VS. BEACON (LIGHT) & ARGENT (LIGHT)"
The momentum shifted brutally in the second match. Luna Tideweaver summoned a massive sphere of water to protect herself, but she was facing the Light Kingdom’s elite strategist and their divine archer.
Beacon raised his hand. "Solaris Blind." A flash of light so intense it boiled the surface of Luna’s water sphere erupted. Luna screamed, covering her eyes, her concentration broken.
In that split second, Argent drew his bow. "Piercing Ray."
Two arrows of solid light pierced through the boiling water and struck Luna in the shoulders, pinning her to the floor.
Beacon walked over, looking down at the writhing water mage. He laughed, a cold, resonant sound. "Is this the best the Kaipo Universe has left? You're just a puddle waiting to dry up."
Argent kicked Luna in the ribs, knocking the wind out of her. "Stay down, trash."
"LUNA TIDEWEAVER - ELIMINATED."
The guard scanned her body as she was dragged away.
Score: 5U: 14 Fighters Left vs. 6K: 16 Fighters Left.
"FIGHT 49: KADE IRONFORGE (AREALA) VS. CELESTINE (LIGHT) & RHYNA EARTHSHAKER (THORNE)"
Kade Ironforge slammed his shields down, creating a dome of impenetrable energy. "Come on! You won't break this!"
But the matchup was cruel. Rhyna Earthshaker didn't attack the shield; she attacked the ground beneath it. "Earthquake Stomp!" The arena floor shattered, tilting Kade’s footing and forcing him to move his shield.
The instant a gap appeared, Celestine moved. Blessed with divine speed, she was a blur of gold. She slipped through the crack in Kade's defense.
"Too slow," Celestine whispered, appearing behind him.
She delivered a palm strike to the back of his neck while Rhyna punched the front of his shield. The combined force of the internal and external impact was too much. Kade’s eyes rolled back, and his massive barrier dissolved into sparks.
"KADE IRONFORGE - ELIMINATED."
Score: 5U: 13 Fighters Left vs. 6K: 16 Fighters Left.
The sun climbed higher, and the battles turned into a meat grinder. The Five Universes fought valiantly, their backs against the wall, but the 2v1 advantage was overwhelming for many.
• Mira Stormcaller took down Ursus (Animal) with a lightning blast but was blindsided by Petra (Thorne), who dragged her underground. Mira Eliminated.
• Dex Shadowbane managed to assassinate Echo (Sound) but was caught by Rhythm (Sound), who disrupted his heartbeat. Dex Eliminated.
• Sage Thornfield outsmarted Naga (Animal) but was overpowered by the sheer brute force of Goliath (Thorne), who fought for a second time. Sage Eliminated.
• Terra Earthshaker (Kaipo) and Zephyr Windcaller fought back-to-back in an unofficial team-up when the rules blurred, but were eventually overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of the Light Kingdom's remaining forces.
But the Five Universes had their monsters, too.
Kai Sunblade incinerated two opponents at once with a Solar Supernova. Raven Duskwalker consumed her opponents in a dome of absolute terror, leaving them catatonic. Captain Daichi dismantled a Tech and Thorne duo with surgical precision, breaking their weapons and their spirits. Saber, wielding the Saber of Reverberation, reflected a combined magical assault back at his attackers, wiping them out instantly.
By the time the sun began to set, the dust settled on a nearly empty arena.
The Final Count:
Five Universes Remaining (5):
1. Saber (Mixed)
2. Captain Daichi (Mixed)
3. Kai Sunblade (Kaipo)
4. Raven Duskwalker (Areala)
5. Lyxa Morvain (Areala)
Six Kingdoms Remaining (3):
1. Commander Cygnus-7 (Technology - Leader)
2. Grand Magus Elara (Magic - Leader)
3. Resonance Kaine (Sound - Leader)
The crowd was hushed. Despite the unfair rules, despite the odds, the Five Universes had whittled the might of the Six Kingdoms down to just their three strongest leaders. Kaine had not even stepped into the ring yet.
Daichi wiped blood from his lip, staring across the decimated arena at the three remaining figures on the Kingdom side.
"Five against three," Daichi panted. "Now... the real fight begins."16Please respect copyright.PENANAIqwg2E4n1I

The atmosphere in the Colosseum of Judgment had shifted from excitement to a suffocating tension. Elder Corvus Myrik stood at the edge of the platform, his scarred face impassive.
"THE 2V1 FORMAT SHALL CONTINUE," Corvus announced, his voice booming. "WE WISH TO THOROUGHLY... TEST... THE LIMITS OF THE FIVE UNIVERSES."
A murmur of dissent rippled through the Five Universes' waiting area. Kai Sunblade slammed his fist into the wall. "Test us? They're trying to slaughter us before we get to the finals. It’s not fair."
Captain Daichi adjusted his gloves, his eyes cold and analytical. "Fairness was never part of the equation, Kai. They are frightened. But we must push on."
"FIGHT 50: RAVEN DUSKWALKER (AREALA) VS. COMMANDER CYGNUS-7 (TECH) & GRAND MAGUS ELARA (MAGIC)"
Raven stepped into the arena, shadows coiling around her like protective snakes. She prepared to cast Abyssal Terror, but the fight ended before it truly began.
Grand Magus Elara simply raised a finger. "Spatial Collapse."
The space around Raven folded in on itself instantly. Raven’s eyes widened, and then rolled back as the air was squeezed from her lungs. She collapsed, unconscious.
Commander Cygnus-7 didn't even raise his weapon. He watched Raven fall with a sigh of digital static. "This is boring. My combat algorithms didn't even initialize."
"RAVEN DUSKWALKER - ELIMINATED."
The guards rushed in. The crystal scanner flashed. Data acquired.
"FIGHT 51: LYXA MORVAIN (AREALA) VS. COMMANDER CYGNUS-7 (TECH) & GRAND MAGUS ELARA (MAGIC)"
The leaders of the Magic and Technology Kingdom teams remained in the arena. Lyxa Morvain stepped forward, her silver braid swaying. She knew the odds were impossible, yet she fought with the ferocity of a cornered lioness.
She used Adaptation, copying Elara’s gravity magic to deflect Cygnus’s plasma shots. For a few minutes, she held her ground, a blur of motion and stolen magic. But the gap was too wide. Elara warped the ground to trap Lyxa’s feet, and Cygnus aimed a point-blank blast.
"NO!"
Kai Sunblade couldn't watch anymore. Breaking protocol, he vaulted over the barrier, landing beside Lyxa. His solar aura exploded outward, deflecting Cygnus’s blast.
"Two against two!" Kai roared. "Try me!"
High above, Elder Haldan Vross stepped forward to disqualify them, but Elder Rainer Solrenn held up a hand, a twisted smile on his face. "Let them continue. More data for the collection."
It was a magnificent display of light and adaptation. Kai and Lyxa fought back-to-back, Solar Magic merging with Adaptive Spells. But Cygnus’s tactical computer adapted to their rhythm, and Elara simply rewrote the rules of the battle.
Elara banished Kai’s sun, plunging the arena into darkness, while Cygnus activated his thermal vision. A coordinated strike—a gravity crush combined with a plasma railgun shot—ended it.
"LYXA MORVAIN - ELIMINATED. KAI SUNBLADE - ELIMINATED."
The scanners flashed twice.
"FIGHT 52: CAPTAIN DAICHI (MIXED) VS. COMMANDER CYGNUS-7 (TECH) & GRAND MAGUS ELARA (MAGIC)"
Captain Daichi walked onto the field slowly. He didn't look at his opponents. He looked up at the Council platform, then at the scanners.
It finally hit him. The pattern. The specific pairings.
"I know what you all are up to," Daichi said, his voice calm but carrying across the silent arena.
Elara raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?"
"You aren't trying to eliminate us," Daichi said, gripping his staff. "You're building a library. A database of our techniques. It’s a shame you will try to pull such a trick, when we have the Sun Goddess up there."
He gestured vaguely toward the platform where Seraphina sat, giving her the respect of a 1 of 1 mage.
"You know it will be futile to try," Daichi finished.
"We deny any knowledge of such accusations," Cygnus-7 droned mechanically. "Surrender or be deleted."
Daichi sucked his teeth. "Fine."
He slammed his staff into the black stone. "Strategic Convergence Field."
An invisible grid of energy erupted around them, covering the center stage of the Colosseum. To the audience, nothing changed. To Daichi, the world became a schematic. He saw the mana flowing in Elara’s veins. He saw the hydraulic pressure in Cygnus’s joints. He saw the future trajectory of every atom in the ring.
"What is this?" Elara mocked, though she felt a chill.
"Come find out," Daichi replied.
Elara dashed forward, warping space to close the distance instantly. She aimed a palm strike that would liquify bone. But Daichi didn't just dodge; he moved to where she wasn't going to be. He sidestepped with millimeter precision.
"Planetary Guardian Strike."
Daichi drove the butt of his staff into Elara’s chest. The impact didn't just break ribs; it disrupted her mana flow entirely. She gasped, her eyes losing focus, and crumbled.
Cygnus-7’s targeting systems roared to life. "Threat level escalated." He fired a barrage of homing missiles.
Daichi walked through the barrage. He didn't run. He simply stepped exactly where the gaps in the explosion patterns would be, guided by his tactical field. He ignored Cygnus entirely, walking past the cyborg to deliver a final, light tap to Elara’s forehead, ensuring she stayed unconscious.
Cygnus roared, his hydraulic limbs whirring as he charged, overpowering Daichi for a split second with sheer mechanical brute force. He grabbed Daichi’s staff, locking him in place. "Calculated. You are unarmed."
Daichi smiled. "Am I?"
He released the staff. "Resilience of the Earth."
Drawing energy from the ground to reinforce his body, Daichi stepped inside Cygnus’s guard. He pulled his fist back, channeling a vibration he had felt a thousand times in sparring matches.
"Thanks, Doran," Daichi whispered. "I had to steal your move."
"Special Technique: Cataclysmic Impact."
Daichi punched the center of Cygnus’s chest plate. It wasn't just a punch; it was a kinetic wave that mimicked Doran's Cataclysmic Wave Fist. The shockwave traveled through the cyborg’s armor, bypassing the metal and shattering the delicate internal processors.
Cygnus-7 twitched, sparks flying from his eyes, and collapsed into a heap of scrap metal.
"COMMANDER CYGNUS-7 - ELIMINATED. GRAND MAGUS ELARA - ELIMINATED."
The crowd was stunned into silence. Daichi stood alone, breathing heavily, as the guards rushed out to scan... their own leaders.
Only two fighters remained for the Five Universes: Captain Daichi and Saber. Only one fighter remained for the Six Kingdoms: Resonance Kaine.
Daichi stood amidst the wreckage of the battle, watching the final opponent walk onto the field. Resonance Kaine moved with a silent grace, his presence commanding.
"Let's make this quick," Daichi said, preparing to engage his tactical field again.
"No," a voice interrupted.
Saber stepped out of the tunnel, his hand on the hilt of his Saber of Reverberation. He walked past Daichi, his eyes locked on Kaine. "Let me fight him."
Daichi looked at Saber. He saw the mix of grief, confusion, and burning rage in the former King's eyes. He realized this wasn't about strategy anymore.
"He's yours," Daichi said, lowering his staff and walking back to the tunnel.
Saber stood alone in the center of the vast arena, facing the man who had been his hero, his mentor, and his protector.
"I thought you died," Saber said, his voice trembling slightly.
Resonance Kaine stopped ten paces away. He looked exactly as Saber remembered him—tall, broad-shouldered, with eyes that seemed to hum with power. "I didn't."
"What happened?" Saber asked, his grip tightening on his blade. "I saw you fall. I saw the blood."
"I faked it," Kaine said simply. "I ran away because I finally saw the truth about your father."
Flashback: 20 Years Ago
The Main District of the Sound Kingdom was burning. A rebel faction had breached the palace walls, slaughtering guards left and right. Young Saber cowered behind a pillar, watching as Captain Kaine fought three assassins at once with his vibrating blade.
Kaine cut the last assassin down, breathing heavily. He turned to check on Saber, but then he froze. Through the smoke, Kaine saw a group of Council Enforcers—soldiers wearing the crest of The Judge—watching from the ramparts. They weren't helping. They were observing.
In that moment, Kaine realized the truth. This wasn't a rebellion; it was a test. The Judge, Saber's own father, had orchestrated the attack on the Sound Kingdom to "harden" his son, to see if the boy was worthy of ruling the region. The Judge was willing to burn his own son's kingdom to the ground just to teach a lesson in authority.
Disgusted by a father who would sacrifice his own people and endanger his own child for "order," Kaine knew he couldn't serve this system anymore. If he stayed, he would either be killed for knowing too much or forced to become a pawn in The Judge's cruel games.
So, he made a choice. He used a sonic clone to fake a gruesome death at the hands of the "rebels." He fled into the wilderness, vowing to find a power strong enough to one day return and shatter The Judge's twisted scales of justice.
Present Day
"I didn't leave because I was afraid of the rebels, Saber," Kaine said, his voice cold. "I left because I refused to serve a father who treats his son like a lab rat. I went to find the 'True Resonance'—power enough to destroy The Judge."
Kaine drew his jagged, vibrating sword. "But look at you now. You let yourself become exactly what he wanted—a ruler who failed to keep order. You let the Sound Kingdom rot."
Saber drew his blade, the metal singing as it left the sheath.
"I didn't fail," Saber said, his eyes hardening. "I chose freedom over his control. And if you think you can judge me, you're just as arrogant as he is."
Saber took a step forward, gesturing with his blade toward the Council platform where The Judge had sat only moments ago.
"You speak of destroying him, Kaine. You speak of finding the power to shatter his tyranny. Yet look where you stand."
Saber’s voice rose, carrying across the silent arena. "I am standing with the 'outsiders.' I am fighting for the Five Universes—for the right to exist freely, outside of the Council's grip. But you? After twenty years of searching for 'True Resonance,' you came crawling back to the very system you claim to hate. You are standing in his arena, fighting his battles, serving as his champion against the only people actually trying to stop him."
A flicker of anger crossed Kaine's face, the vibrations around his sword intensifying.
"You're a hypocrite, Kaine," Saber spat. "I may have lost my title, but I kept my soul. You sold yours back to the man who treated me like a lab rat."
Kaine’s eyes narrowed, the air around him beginning to distort with sound waves. "You know nothing of my plans, boy."
"I know enough," Saber replied, raising his Saber of Reverberation. "I know that I’m the only one here actually fighting for freedom."
The air between them began to vibrate, the sound growing louder until it was a deafening scream.
The final battle of Round Three was about to begin.16Please respect copyright.PENANAfyxaHX8NQj
