The red dust surrounded Tyler and quickly turned into blazing fire. The fire eased onto his body and formed a red suit and the gold from the gauntlet formed the gold accents and small gold shoulder plates. Next, the boots and gloves appeared with fire going off of his body and behind him. The fire began to form a large ape that covered his head and created the helmet. Lastly, the black visor closed as the gold accents around the visor and the grey mouth plate appeared.
The green dust surrounded Blake and quickly turned into solid rocks. The rocks eased onto his body and formed a green suit as the gold from the gauntlet formed the gold accents and small gold shoulder plates. Next, the boots and gloves appeared with the green sand going off of his body and behind him. The sand began to from a large boar that covered his head and created the helmet. Lastly, the black visor closed as the gold accents around the visor and grey mouth plate appeared.
The blue dust surrounded Sofia and quickly turned into sparkling water. The water eased onto her body and formed a blue suit with a skirt as the gold from the gauntlet formed the gold accents and small gold shoulder plates. Next, the boots and gloves appeared with water going off of her body and behind her. The water began to form a large shark that soon covered her head and created the helmet. Lastly, the black visor closed as the gold accents around the visor and the grey mouth plate appeared as the morphing sequence was now complete.
"IMPOSSIBLE!!!" Abrus and the other monsters stepped back and grunted as they saw three Power Rangers in their flashy suits standing in front of them. "THEY'RE POWER RANGERS!!!"
The scenery changed behind the rangers to pitch black as Tyler slapped his hands together and folded them. "Red and Blazing in the Darkness." He moved his arms in a circular manner as fire followed them. He then unfolded his hands as he snapped his fingers and pounded his chest. "Red Elemental Ranger!!" He shouted.
Blake pounded his shoulders with his fists and stomped the ground with his two feet as rocks flew into the air. "Green and the Grounding Force in the Darkness!!" He jumped up and flexed his arms and then raised his glasses as though they were outside of his helmet. "Green Elemental Ranger!!" He shouted.
Sofia moved her arms and hands in a wavy style and raised her right hand in the air as water followed them. "Blue and Surging through the Darkness!!!" Sofia then slapped her hands together and extended her arms in a horizontal way to resemble somewhat of a shark's mouth. "Blue Elemental Ranger!!!" She shouted.
"POWER RANGERS....." The scenery behind them changed again to the outer view of planet Earth. "ELEMENTAL CHARGE!!!" The three yelled as they posed in front of the Earth. They stopped posing as the rangers examined their flashy suits.
"What the hell just happened?" Tyler asked as he touched his helmet. "And what the hell did I just say?!"
"Woah." Sofia began to notice the blue ranger suit she was wearing. "Oh, blue....I like blue. Thank god it's not pink." She muttered.
Blake placed his hands together. "Alright, lets do this." He pointed at Abrus and the monsters. "Abrus, prepare to face the wrath of the Power Rangers!!!"
The name Power Rangers didn't cross either Tyler or Sofia's mind since they were going with the flow and doing what they were told to do in their minds. "Power Rangers....alright!!!" Tyler snapped back to reality. He smiled and slapped Blake on the back. "Since I'm the red ranger, does that make me leader?"
"No---"
"Yeah?...cool!!!" Tyler shoved Blake to the side.
"YAHOO!!!" He yelled as he ran towards the krakens with a red streak following behind him. He jumped up and punch one in the face as he grabbed a kraken and placed it in a chokehold. He began beating it repeatedly in the head. "Are you guys gonna help or what?" He asked. Blake and Sofia glanced at each other as they ran towards the monsters. The krakens broke into groups and the rangers followed them as Sofia was up first.
"Watch out, the ground's slippery!!" She shouted as she slid on the ground easily using her water and sweep two krakens off their feet. She clawed them both as wo more krakens ran towards her as she did a backflip which uppercut one of them and sent them falling down. The other kraken swung its sword as Sofia grabbed it and slashed the monster in the chest. They dissolved into purple sand as another one grabbed her from the back. She quickly turned around and kicked it between the legs. The kraken tilted its head as though it didn't feel any pain. "I figured..." Sofia grabbed its arm and flipped it over her shoulder. She stomped the kraken in the face as it dissolved.
Blake bone-rushed three krakens who were lined up for him. He then picked two up with their legs and swung them around in circles. "You guys should've ran away, there's a tornado in coming." He said as he slammed them onto the ground. They dissolved immediately as four more appeared behind him. "I don't have time for you four!!" He took out his scroll and flipped it open. "Earth technique....Ground Smash!!!" Blake's feet glowed green as he stomped his feet repeatedly until cracks appeared in the ground and reached the four krakens. The cracks surrounded the group of monsters and created a hole which made them fall. "Have a nice fall!!"
After Tyler destroyed two krakens, he didn't bother taking on the rest and decided to go for Abrus. He ran towards her as she thrusted her hands horizontally and a wave of purple goo appeared. Tyler slid under it with no problem, but Abrus had more moves up her sleeves. She began to move her hands in a oval shape as a big orb appeared over her head. "Bye Bye ranger!!!" A big beam came out of the orb and went straight for Tyler. Tyler hopped out of the way and proceeded towards Abrus. Another beam came for him as this time it knew which direction he was going to dodge to.
Blake ran towards Tyler. "Tyler no!!!" He shouted, but he didn't listen. The beam hit Tyler in his right leg as he fell down and demorphed.
"AHH!!!" He yelled in pain as he saw his leg was purple like a black eye. "What the--" Blake ran past Tyler without stopping to make sure he was alright.
Abrus felt a sudden headache coming on as she fainted into the Shadow Knight's arms. "Madame Abrus, you've been away from this world for many years. We must retreat so that you can rebuild your strength." It said as they glowed purple and disappeared. Blake reached the spot, that they were standing in, but he was to late. He stomped his feet and yelled angrily.
"Tyler!!" After making the last kraken dissolve into purple sand, Sofia demorphed and rushed over to Tyler who was rocking back and forth from the pain that came from his body. She saw that his leg was very infected with whatever that beam was and it was spreading to his arm.
"What's happening to me?!" Tyler asked.
Blake walked over and demorphed as he examined the infected arm and leg. "He's infected by one of Abrus's poison."
"Is there something that we can do?!" Sofia asked.
"Hopefully Mother Nature has a cure." Blake said.
"Wait, Mother Nature?!" Tyler asked before falling backwards. He was now unconscious on the ground with his legs spread.
"Come on." Blake grabbed Tyler's left and right arm and placed him over his shoulders. "We have to get to my house."
"Your house?" Sofia was confused as ever, but if it meant saving Tyler. "Ok." Sofia and Blake walked down the messed up street that took damage from the thunderstorm and Abrus's beams of poison. Blake carried Tyler with his legs dragging on the ground.
_____________
"Come on hurry up, I don't have all day!!!" A masked figure in all black clothes pointed a brown bag at the jewelry store owner and his wife. The brown bag didn't have an outline of a gun, but he still looked intimidated with those vicious eyes staring down at them. "Hurry the hell up!!!" The robber shouted.
The two people were just a couple of elders who recently just opened up their store after the thunderstorm and now they were getting robbed, two terrible events happening in one day. The store owner slowly gave the duffle bag full of jewelries to the man as he quickly grabbed them. The man quickly looked inside to make sure that there was enough jewelry while the store owner slowly moved his hand to the red button that was under the counter.
The robber looked as the store owner who already pressed the button. "What did you do?!!" The robber shouted. "WHAT DID YOU DO?!!" The wife began to shudder as the robber's eyes glowed purple and so did his brown bag. The shelf behind the owner began to shake as it collapsed on to him. The owner was now unconscious on the floor as his wife begins to cry.
"HELP....HELP!!!" She yelled.
"He...he...shouldn't have done that." The robber quickly ran out the store and into the nearest alleyway as police cars began to fill the area.
____________
Blake and Sofia arrived at his house as he gave her the keys and she opened the door. Blake quickly jogged through the living room and up the stairs. Sofia tried her best to follow, but Blake was too fast even when he was caring Tyler. She took a peek into every room she passed, but she noticed a lot of them were empty except the living room and bedroom that seemed his.
Sofia found the library upstairs as Blake pulled the same green book from the third shelf of the bookcase that sat far away from the others in the darkness. The bookcase opened up and showed the white portal. Sofia eyes widened. "Come on." Blake said as he entered the portal with Tyler.
Sofia shifted her way to the front of the portal as she began to examine it. She slowly placed one hand inside as it made a bubbly sound and she quickly took it out. "What the---" she placed her other hand inside and it made the same noise. "Cool..." Something pulled her from the other side of the portal as she found herself in the dark tunnel.
"Stop playing with the portal, we have work to do." She heard Blake say.
"Blake, where are you?" She began to look for him. "I can't see you...it's too dark."
"Just follow the sound of Tyler's legs sliding." Blake said as he began to walk down the tunnel. They finally reached the force field as Blake's pocket glowed green and Sofia's pocket glowed blue. The force field pushed them into the other side as Sofia let out a groan. "It feels weird, but you'll get use to it." Blake said as the bright light from the end of the tunnel appeared and Sofia could now see him and Tyler.
Blake exhaled. "Follow me." They both walked into the light as Sofia was immediately greeted with an eagle flying pass her. Sofia's mouth was to the floor as she saw the big tree in the middle of the grotto and the animals that roamed freely. She looked up at the grotto and saw an opened wide view of something red.
"Where are we?" Sofia asked. She saw a lion walking by her as she immediately grabbed Blake's arm.
Blake's face lit up and cleared his throat. "Um, if I..told you...you wouldn't believe me." He said.
"With the stuff that's happening and has happened, try me." Sofia said.
"We're deep inside the planet." Blake said. "Welcome to the center of the Earth."
Sofia's eyes widened. "No....way..."
"Mother Nature!!!" Blake shouted. Blake slowly laid Tyler on the ground. Mother Nature came from behind the tree and glanced at Tyler and Sofia. Sofia stared at Mother Nature as well. Her appearance was a shock to her because she never pictured Mother Nature looking like a humanoid dragon.
"They...are...."
"Mother Nature!!" Blake pointed to Tyler who was tossing and turning while groaning. "He was hit by Abrus's poison."
"Abrus....that baneful queen." Mother Nature bent down beside Tyler and examined his body. "Oh no." She said. She took off his hoodie and shirt as the three saw that the poison has reached his chest.
"The poison or whatever...it's at his chest." Sofia pointed out. "Why isn't he died?"
"This type of poison is not venomous. It infects the body, but does not kill the person." Mother Nature explained.
"Then what is it?" Blake asked.
Mother Nature pulled up Tyler's eyelids and saw his pupils beginning to turn pitch black. "Do you know which bookshelf is 'De Conversion' is on?"
She asked Blake.
"Second shelf in the third bookcase." He answered. Blake knew every book that was the bookshelves since he spent time organizing them, but Mother Nature never allowed him to read most them for his well-being and hers.
"Ok, I also need you to do me a favor. I need you to go into the house and get me a needle and a bowl."
"Ok." Blake nodded his head and immediately left the grotto as Sofia glanced at Mother Nature.
"You know what this is?" She asked.
"Indeed, I just need the ingredients." Mother Nature walked over to the bookshelf and began to search for a specific book. She grabbed a book with the title 'De Conversion' from the second shelf of the third bookcase as Blake came back into the grotto with the needle in the bucket. He gave them to her as she got work.
First, she grabbed some water from the lake and then grabbed some dirt that surrounded the big tree. She mixed it with her hands and snipped a couple of leaves from the tree. She placed it in the bowl and went over to Tyler. "I'm gonna need you two to hold him down while I take some of his blood." Mother Nature said. Blake grabbed the left side of Tyler without asking any questions, but Sofia stood with her arms crossed.
"Why....why do you need his blood?" She asked. "Are you going to reengineer the poison and find a cure using his blood or something?"
"Something like that. Now....please." Sofia hesitated, but thought of how much pain Tyler was in right now and her best bet was to believe this scale woman who's Mother Nature. Sofia nodded her head and grabbed the right side of Tyler as she and Blake began to hold him down.
Mother Nature took the cap off of the needle. "Now, where did she strike him at?" She asked.
"His left leg." Sofia answered.
Mother Nature nodded her head as she slowly placed the needle into his leg. Tyler began to shake as Blake and Sofia held him down with Sofia's eyes were getting watery. He began to make growling noises mixed with a sound of a sea creature. "What the heck was that sound?" Blake asked. "It sounds familiar."
"That is the sound of a Kraken." Mother Nature answered as she squirted the blood into the bowl. "As I said before, this poison does not kill...but instead turns the person into one of Abrus's monsters. The poison is called Krake."
"So what you're saying is that those things that we fought back there were Krakens?" Sofia asked.
"Indeed, they are not as big as you see in mythologies. But, they are quite real." Mother Nature said. She began to stir all of the ingredients.
"And this means that they were human...before Abrus turned them into those monsters..."
"Yes....it's complicated." Blake said. "We'll explain everything after Tyler is alright." Blake and Mother Nature nodded their heads as the ingredients begin to glow green.
"The cure is ready." Mother Nature said.
"Ok, so how do we get him to drink it?" Blake asked.
"We don't." She got up. "If you two would please step away from him."
Blake and Sofia glanced at each other and crawled away from Tyler. Mother Nature hovered the bowl over Tyler as she began to tilt the bowl and pour the cure onto Tyler's body. The cure was abnormal. Instead of splashing everywhere, it began to become solid when it hit his body. After the bowl was empty, the cure covered the top of body and began to suck the poison out of his body like a octopus on your skin.
Suddenly, Tyler laid up with the green cure coving his face. Everyone jumped as he began to glance at the three and the cure began to merge with his skin. "What the---" The cure fully went into his skin as he jumped up and examined his body. "What the hell was that?!!" He asked.
"That was the cure of conversion." Mother Nature explained.
Tyler glanced at her and immediately jumped beside Sofia. "What the heck is that?!!!"
"This is Mother Nature." Sofia answered. "She saved your life." Mother Nature smiled and bowed down.
Blake crossed his arms. "You're an idiot." He said.
Tyler stopped staring at Mother Nature. "Excuse me?!!"
"The Shadow Knight could've killed you or that poison could've turned you into a Kraken."
Tyler raised his eyebrows. "A what now?!!"
Mother Nature touched Blake's shoulder. "Please Blake, there's much to be discussed." She said.
Blake sighed. "Fine..."
Mother Nature pointed her hand to a wooden table. "If you would please sit. There's a lot of explaining that I need to do."
___________
Tyler and Sofia had been at the base ever since the morning time and now it was in the afternoon and they knew that they're parents we're worrying about them; But, Sofia needed some answers and Tyler was promised a veggie-burger after the explanation.
"So let me get this straight." Sofia sighed. "So there's another world that's evil and full of chaos---"
"The void...." Blake corrected.
Sofia rolled her eyes. "The void." Sofia imitated Blake. "And then there are ancient evil beings, from that world, that threatens this world?"
"There's only one ancient being in that world and his name is Vixx and he won't stop at nothing to get what he wants." Blake explained.
"Which is?"
"Chaos...destruction." Mother Nature said with a flat voice. "And the only people that are standing in his way are you three...the Power Rangers."
"How...why?" Sofia was confused. She felt a headache incoming as she covered her forehead while Tyler leaned back in chair waiting for his veggie-burger.
"You two, as was Blake, was chosen by the elemental scrolls."
Tyler leaned forward. "And what are these elemental scrolls?" He asked.
"They are powerful objects that were created by Mother Nature and helped create this world and stop it from destruction." Blake explained. Sofia and Tyler glanced at each other as they slowly took the elemental scrolls out of their pockets and laid them on the table.
Mother Nature then pointed to the crystalized alcove. "I created eight, each symbolizing an element of this world." She glanced at Blake. "But we've only found three of them."
"Wait...what?"
"How do you lose the things that you created?" Sofia asked.
"I did not lose them." Mother Nature cleared her throat. "They were corrupted by Vixx and scattered across this world. It is our duty to find them and use them to stop him."
"And how do we find them?" Sofia asked. "How did you guys find these three?"
Blake and Mother Nature glanced at each other. "I didn't find the Earth elemental scroll, it choose me and came to me one night while I was exploring the Gaia forest."
"What were you doing walking through the forest at night?" Tyler asked.
"A better question...where are your parents?" Sofia asked.
Blake cleared his throat. "My parents left me when I was fifteen. I've been living alone and taking care of myself."
"Why in the hell would your parents leave you?"
"Let's just say when I bonded to the Earth element, it got a little chaotic." Blake said. "But they still send me money every Friday." He began to shake his head repeatedly with a crooked smile like he was hiding something.
Mother Nature clapped her hands "Now, enough with the questions." She said. "Shall we get to training."
"Woah woah woah." Sofia jumped up from her seat. "I haven't agreed to this."
"No Ms. Woods, there is no agreement. When one of the elemental scrolls chooses you, the element bonds to you. There is no turning back." Mother Nature explained.
"Wait, how do you know my last name?!!"
Mother Nature looked to the side as she touched her neck nervously. "Ok that's it, I'm leaving. My mom is probably worried about me." Sofia said. She left the elemental scroll and walked over to the tunnel exist. "Tyler, are you coming?" She asked.
"Hold on." Tyler leaned forward and placed his hands together. "So I was promised a veggie-burger."
Mother Nature and Blake glanced at each other. "Tyler!!" Sofia shouted.
Tyler hesitated to leave. "Fine!!" He got up and glanced at them both before picking up the fire elemental scroll and walking to the tunnel. They entered as the tunnel glowed white and they were gone.
"I messed up." Mother Nature muttered.
"You did come off a bit creepy." Blake said. "But we don't need them. If we can find the other two scrolls that weren't corrupted by Vixx, then we can have a better team of rangers." Blake grinned and walk over to the bookcase to begin his search as Mother Nature sighed.
___________
Sofia and Tyler were now out of Blake's creepy home and now walking down the street. Tyler still held the elemental scroll in his hand while Sofia was crept out that Mother Nature knew her last name. How was that possible? She never told her her last name and they just met.
"How did she know my last name?" Sofia asked herself.
Tyler shrugged his shoulders. "God, I'm so hungry. Being a ranger wears a guy out." He touched his stomach as he stopped walking and shook Sofia's arm. He pointed to a diner across the street and grabbed Sofia's arm as they rushed across the street and into the diner.
___________
The name of the diner was Steak N' Juice and served all kinds of meat with various juices. It was one of the most popular restaurants in the town like Pop's diner is in Riverdale. It was pretty crowded since it was the afternoon, but Tyler found a seat in the far back as he quickly pulled Sofia. He sat down and Sofia sat down in front of him.
A waitress came over with her red and orange uniform on. "May I help you?" She asked.
"Yes, we would like the kids meal." Tyler said.
The waitress was confused and so was Sofia. Sofia looked at the menu and back at Tyler. "Tyler, there isn't a kids meal."
"WHAT!!" Tyler slumped in his seat. For as long as Tyler has been to Steak N' Juice, he was just now being told that there wasn't a kids meal. But what was that square shape meat and juice meal that the waitress always served him?a
Sofia shook her head. "We'll just have the buttery steak with fries and orange juice."
"Coming right up!!" The waitress grabbed the two menus and walked off.
"I have to reply to my mom and tell her that I'm alright." Sofia pulled out her phone and started texting. Tyler did the same shortly after, but finished before her. He began to tap the table repeatedly waiting for his food to come and his stomach continued to growl.
He grabbed his scroll and examined it. "Hey." Tyler said. "Do you think all that stuff she said, was true?"
"What, the stuff about the elemental scrolls and a different world?"
"Yeah."
Sofia was about to say no, but thought about it. It wasn't out of the realm of possibilities after what had happened today, but an ancient object choosing her to become a Power Ranger was way weird. "I don't know...probably." She answered.
"Then it's our duty to protect our town and the world." Tyler said.
"It's not our duty. We were a bunch of teenagers who were having somewhat of a good morning until that storm hit." Sofia said. The waitress came with the orange juice and left the table.
"I don't know about you." Tyler said as he grabbed a straw. "But I think of this as a second chance." He placed the straw inside the orange juice and began to drink.
"A second chance for what?" Sofia asked.
Tyler didn't answer as he continued to drink. In a matter of seconds, he drunk his whole orange juice before his steak and fries even arrived. He shook his head. "I'm coming back tomorrow, after school." He said.
"What?!!" Sofia slammed her hand on the table. "Are you insane? Do you know the probability of you dying?"
"No, but I do know when I need to do something that is right." Tyler said. "Look....if you feel the same way---"
"I don't know."
"Then you'll come back to." The waitress finally arrived with the food as Sofia placed a napkin on her lap, but Tyler immediately dug right in when she sat down the food. "Not to bring it up." Tyler felt barbecue around his face and whipped some of it off with his arm. "But wouldn't your father want you to do this?"
Sofia placed her piece of steak down with her knife and fork. "You don't know my father." She said with a taut voice.
"I know I know." Tyler was now done with his steak and was proceeding to the fries. "But wouldn't he'd wanted you to do something the helped our town...the Earth?"
Sofia's face turned blank. She took the napkin off of her lap and placed it over her untouched food. "I'm not hungry. I'm leaving you with the bill." She said as she got up.
"Wait what?!" Before Tyler could even stop her, Sofia was out the door leaving Tyler with some untouched food. He pulled the tray over to him and began to eat the food happily.
__________
The beach was beautiful in the morning, but also in the afternoon. More people were out and the sun shinned in the water with little kids trying to grab the sun in the ocean. Kids were playing with their water guns and parents were cuddling up together watching them. Sofia walked onto the beach with her shoes dangling from her two fingers and her cold feet touching the hot sand. She gazed at the ocean, remembering the time with her father two years ago:
"Remember to always choose the worst bait." He said. He had a white snow goatee and his hair was brown and really curly. He wore a blue and white coat and some shorts. Sofia's father always wore a coat even during the summer time. "If you don't then you'll catch a fish."
"Isn't that a good thing?" A fifteen year old Sofia asked.
"Not always." He answered. "Fish and other creatures of the seas should be left alone. We should leave all animals alone and stop destroying nature." He said with a commander's voice.
Sofia chuckled. "Alright dad that's enough. I don't want you going on a rant about how industries are messing up Earth."
"It's true." He got up from his old chair as they both were in the fisherman house around the beach area. He took his fishing rod and placed it on the table.
Sofia went over to him as he was repairing it. "Dad, if you're so worried about nature then why become a fishermen." She asked.
Her father looked up from the fishing rod. "Your mother likes fishermen." He chuckled.
"I'm serious." Sofia said.
He sighed. "I don't know cupcake. One day when I was a teenager, I roamed the beach after storming out of the school--"
"Why did you storm out of the school?"
"Huh, oh...I was beating up this rich kid who was slut shaming a bunch of girls and picking on a boy."
"Go dad!!"
Her father dusted off his shoulders. "It was not a problem, but anyways...I was walking on the beach and then I suddenly heard noises coming from the ocean and no one else heard them."
Sofia raised an eyebrow. "And that's why you became a fishermen?"
He smiled. "Yelp, don't knock it till you try it." He finally repaired the fishing rod as he grabbed another one and gave it to Sofia. "Sofia...."
Sofia placed the rod under arm. "Yeah?"
"Whatever you do....how you do it, always protect the ocean."
Sofia pursed her lips and nodded her head as they both headed out of the fishermen house as the flashback ends.
Sofia sighed as she shook her head. "Fine, I'll do it...but I'm doing it for you dad." She nodded her head as she walked off the beach.
__________
Something purple shimmered from inside of the local beach cave right after Sofia left. It was a circle in mid air and no one could see it since it was deep inside of the cave. It grew large and larger until it was the size of a portal and two shadowy figures appeared beside each other. They were Abrus and the Shadow Knight who holstered his sword. "Madame Abrus, we must find a way to the ocean the without walking in the sun." He said.
"Follow me." She said.
They walked deeper into the cave until the light from the outside was nowhere to be seen. They stopped in a tunnel that ended and there was no other path. "Madame, there is no other path." The Shadow Knight said.
"Shhh!!!" Abrus waved her hands and violet swirls began to follow her every movement. Suddenly, a violet circle appeared under their feet as it swallowed them into the ground. Abrus had now discovered a new section of the cave and it was underwater. Abrus and Shadow Knight swam downwards until they reached the ground. When Abrus's two feet touched the ground, the underwater cave began to transform into a lair with pillars being created and rocks being moved into a circle and others merging to become an oval.
"Honey, I'm home." She said.
"Madame." Shadow Knight tumbled to the ground with it shivering and letting out a growl.
"Oh yes....of course. I will summon you when I need you again." Abrus waved her hands and the knight disappeared. "Now time to find a scroll." She walked over to the oval shaped rock and touched it. The inside of the rock was now replaced with a glass frame as it was now a mirror.
"Show me the area." The mirror glowed and showed an overview of Backwoods Creek. The mirror then placed a dot on a building. "So this is where the scroll was last used. Go to a different view." The mirror changed to a street view of the jewelry store that was just robbed. Abrus waved her hand and the mirror zoomed in on the scene. She saw magical silver essence of a scroll that was used in the store and saw a trail that led out of the store.
Abrus grinned. "It's time for me to hunt down this mortal."
___________
The day was over and now Tuesday had started which was great for Tyler. School was canceled, his mother wasn't aware of the detention he had gotten, but now he'd found himself waiting outside of Blake's front door. He's been there since seven in the morning and now it was nine. He rung the doorbell again and there was no answer as he walked to the side of the house and noticed the side gate was opened.
"Tyler!!" Someone shouted from behind him. He turned around and saw Sofia walking towards him with her arms crossed. She wore a blue and silver popover top with some shorts that were tight around her thighs. Tyler smiled. "So, does this mean you're going to do it?"
"Yeah." Sofia sighed as she took out her elemental scroll. "Like you said, my father would have wanted me to do it."
"Did he actually tell you?"
"Yeah...." Sofia said. "He was always a person who loved the sea and nature."
Tyler nodded his head. "Well, I don't even know if Blake's here. I rung the doorbell two times and no one answered." He said.
Sofia pointed to the side gate. "What about the gate?"
"I just saw it was opened." Tyler answered.
"He probably left it open for us." She said. Sofia and Tyler went through the gate and entered the backyard. Blake's backyard was completely empty with bushes and trees covering the garage.
"So that other people can walk through his backyard and break into his house?"
"Look at this house, Tyler." Sofia said. "This place literally looks abandoned, who would want to break into this?"
"I guess your right." Sofia touched the doorknob of the backdoor. She turnt it and it was unlocked. Sofia and Tyler walked into a hallway of darkness. "Blake, needs to turn some lights on." Tyler said.
"I don't need to do anything." Blake's voice came from beside Tyler.
"Blake, where the hell are you?" Tyler began to move his hands through the darkness Even the sunlight from outside couldn't even help him see. "I can't see!!"
Blake flipped the switch as the lights at the backdoor turned on. Blake's eyes widened to the sight of Tyler holding onto one of Sofia's breasts. Sofia bald up her fists. "Tyler, if you don't let go....I'm gonna kill you."
"That does sound friendly..." Sofia's face glowed red as she stomped her feet and Tyler let go.
Blake shook his head. "Come on, you guys are late."
___________
"Welcome!!!" Mother Nature extended her arms.
Sofia shook her head. "I'm not hugging you, you crept me out yesterday." She said.
Mother Nature lowered her arms. "And I am sorry for that, my appearance....is unnatural." Mother Nature lowered her eyes.
"No it's not that. It's just the fact that you know my last---"
"So since we're Power Rangers, does that mean we have those big-badass robots?" Tyler asked. Sofia glanced at him angrily for interrupting her.
Blake sighed. "You mean zords?"
"Yeah, that's right!!"
Blake glanced at Mother Nature for her approval and she nodded her head. "Alright, follow me."
Tyler began to move in place with excitement as he followed Blake to the hill with water coming down it. The water began to glow green from the sight of Blake and the others. "Um, what?" Tyler was confused.
Blake extended his arm. "Jump in."
Tyler and Sofia stared at each other. "Are you trying to kill us?" Sofia asked.
Blake rolled his eyes. "Would it help if I jump in first?"
Tyler and Sofia nodded their heads. Blake stepped on the hill and dived into the water, disappearing in a matter of seconds. Tyler and Sofia glanced at each other as Tyler sighed and climbed the small hill.
"Sofia, if I die." His legs began to shake. "Tell my mom...that I----" before he could finish his dying wish, he fell into the pool of water and disappeared.
Sofia shook her head. "Idiot." She climbed the small hill and dipped into the water. She felt the water make her skin colder than it already was and then there was a moment of silence in the dark abyss. She looked up and saw nothing but darkness, she looked around and saw nothing but darkness until a flash of green surprised her eyes.
Sofia quickly covered them and began to feel rocks moving and heard grumbling noises that seemed to be coming from beneath her. She uncovered her eyes and found herself floating downwards in a huge water fall. She didn't even move as the sight of the ground that was way beneath her seemed deadly. As she continued to float down, she began to see three statues of large animals that were lined up.
She finally reached the ground as she saw Tyler freaking out over how huge the statues were with Blake shaking his head as usual. "This...is...awesome!!" Tyler shouted. The place was the same as the grotto. It seemed as though the waterfall led to another section of the cave.
"Not really." Blake muttered.
"So these are our zord thingies?" Sofia asked.
"They're not thingies, they are mechanical life forms." Blake said.
"What the heck is that?" Tyler asked.
Blake raised an eyebrow. "Do you ever read books?"
Tyler shook his head as he examined the ape statue. "Not my thang."
"Ok if they're mechanical life forms, why do they look lifeless?" Sofia asked.
Blake shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know. Ever since the boar zord was awakened, it hasn't moved since then."
"Awakened?"
"Oh, right." Blake cleared his throat. "When a scroll is found, the animal elemental zord that belongs to the scroll, will soon awaken."
"But none of these three are fully awakened, yet."
"Precisely, me and Mother Nature don't understand why they are in this desiccated state. We don't know what it takes to fully awakened them yet." Blake said.
Sofia looked up at the lifeless shark zord. It was the size of a Godzilla and was the shape of a submarine ship. "I'm guessing this one's mine?"
"Yes..."
"Of course, it had to be a shark." Sofia puffed and glowered at the zord. "When does training start?"
Blake turned to her with a smile on his face. "I thought you would never ask."
___________
A couple of hours had pass and Sofia and Tyler were at it. Training and learning how to control their powers, but it wasn't working out and wasn't as easy as they thought. Tyler was following Blake's instructions, but was trying to one up him like he was trying to prove something. Sofia was taking it slowly trying to understand the limit of her powers and what they could do. Sofia reached the research portion of her training. Reading some information on each of the elements especially on her own, water which someone wrote down as one of the few elements that is fluid and changing. Its one of the three elements that surrounds the earth completely. The other two being earth and air.
"Yo Sofia!!" Sofia turned around and saw Tyler wave his hand and flash a wooden sword. "Lets spare!!"
_________________
Mother Nature stood on the edge of the grass with Blake watching Sofia and Tyler train with wooden swords. She'd insisted that Blake show them the basics and how to do their elemental techniques, but Blake oppose her offer stating that there's no time for them to learn the basics.
Blake stepped onto the grass field. "Alright, I'm gonna give you guys an example on how to use an elemental technique."
Sofia raised an eyebrow. "An elemental technique?"
"Its mystical arts that was created by me and the elemental animals." Mother Nature explained. "It was used by me and the previous elemental team."
"Wait, there was a team before us?!!" Sofia and Tyler glanced at each other.
"Forget training." Tyler threw down his wooden sword. "I wanna hear about the old team."
"Nope nope nope. Lets get through training before me and Mother Nature explain anymore about the lore."
"Lore?" Tyler and Sofia glanced at each other in confusion.
Alright, now as I was saying. Let me show an elemental technique. Watch!" Blake took out his elemental scroll and yelled some sort of Earth attack as rocks began to cover his legs. He then stomped his feet and the whole grotto began to shake. Animals roared, growled, and chirped in anger and agitated. The grotto stopped shaking when Blake closed the scroll and the rocks on his legs disappeared.
Mother Nature and Sofia clapped as Tyler grinned and took out his scroll. "Cool!!" Tyler shouted. "That seems easy, let me try."
"Wait, maybe I should give you another example. That was a high level technique---"
"Blake, I got this." Tyler raised his scroll as Sofia backed away from him. Blake did the same as Mother Nature stood beside him with her shades on.
"Um, why do you have those on?" Blake asked.
"You can never be too safe." She answered. Blake thought about it for a second and quickly hid behind Mother Nature.
"Alright...." Tyler widen his stance and now he was standing like a sumo wrestler with his back arched and his scroll in front of him.
"That stance isn't necessary." Blake pointed out.
"Let me do my thang, Blake."
"Yeah Blake, let him do his thang." Sofia chuckled.
Tyler closed his eyes and began to concentrate, blocking all of the animal sounds and the water swooshing around him. He opened his eyes and swung his scroll opened. "Fire technique...Fire Shatter!!"
"Fire what now?"
A fiery circle appeared in the sky next to the big tree, hovering over the four that stood in the grotto. They all gazed at it like it was a celestial being and then suddenly the circle opened up like someone unzipping themselves. "TAKE COVER!!!" Blake yelled as he ducked behind the tree.
Tyler jumped behind the hill, Sofia hid behind the big tree, and Mother Nature continued to stare up at the big circle. Fire balls came down one by one, hitting the grass field and the wooden table that soon caught fire on the first touch from the fire ball.
"Beautiful." Mother Nature said.
Another fire ball came and hit the ground, making a mini explosion right next to Sofia's feet. Sofia panted with relief. She turned to Blake. What do we do?" She asked.
"Tyler was the one who summoned the fire balls, he's the only one who can stop this!!" Blake shouted.
Sofia let out a grunt and rolled to the other side of the tree. "TYLER!!!" She yelled. A fire ball hit the grass field and Sofia ducked behind the tree.
Tyler peeked from behind the hill and saw Mother Nature smiling as she raised her shades. Sofia peeked out from the try. "Tyler, you have to stop this. You're the only one that can do it!!!" She shouted.
Tyler showed his confused face with a side of fireballs that went towards him. He pulled behind the hill and waited for them to pass until he peeked out again. "WHAT?!!!"
Sofia rolled her eyes. She took out her scroll and pointed to the fiery circle and then at Tyler. Tyler nodded his head and came form behind the hill. He raised his scroll and the circle began to disappear and the last fireball struck the ground right next to Mother Nature.
She took off her shades and her eyes were watery. "That was beautiful. I haven't seen anything that amazing since the prehistoric age." She said.
Blake stomped to Tyler and shoved him. "The hell is wrong with you?!" He asked. "You could've killed us!!!"
Tyler holstered his scroll. "But I didn't, we're all fine." He said.
Blake bald his fists. "Oh, I can't stand you in school and I can't stand you right now!!!" He shouted. "You're impulsive...I don't even know why the fire element chose you!!!"
"And why would the earth element choose someone like you?" Tyler asked. "Someone who thinks he's better than everyone!!!"
"I don't think that!!!"
Sofia and Mother Nature tilted their heads. "Well..." They said at the same time.
"Oh and don't let me forget about your rage out you had at school."
Blake gulped and looked away. "I don't know what you're talking."
Tyler crossed his arms. "Oh yes you do. It happened last year, between you and a guy named Kirby."
Mother Nature raised an eyebrow. "Blake, what is he talking about?"
"Nothing!!" Blake and Tyler clashed with electricity appearing between the two.
"Guys, we shouldn't fight. We're teammates from now on and we need to start working together and less fighting." Sofia said. Blake and Tyler turned away from each other and crossed their arms. Sofia and Mother Nature sighed at the same time before the three scrolls began to glow enormously.
Sofia raised her scroll. "What's going on?"
"Abrus, she's reappeared."
Tyler hit the palm of his right hand with his left fist. "Alright, time for some payback." He said.
"No, you're staying here." Blake commanded.
"Excuse me?"
"I refuse to follow a red ranger who doesn't work as a team and let's his adrenaline control him."
"That is not true."
Sofia and Mother Nature tilted their heads. "Well...."
Sofia puffed and stepped forward. "We're going together...as a team." Sofia said in a commanding voice. Blake and Tyler slowly nodded their heads as they glanced at each other before racing towards the tunnel.
"Sofia, you must know that teammates do fight. That's how they grow closer." Mother Nature said.
"So what you're saying is that I should let them fight!?"
"No...but you should let them see their own mistakes so that they can learn from them."
Sofia nodded her head and headed towards the tunnel. She understood what Mother Nature was saying, but she couldn't just stand around and watch two of her teammates butt heads with each other. Everyone has their flaws and it is their duty to discover them so that they can become closer and stronger.
_________
Building Depot, Backwoods Creeks' version of Home Depot but sold more outdoor stuff than indoor items. It was one of the few large stores located in the town and everyone went their for things that they needed for a barbecue or for a hiking trip. The large store was packed everyday with people preparing for trips or for the end of the world. Yeah, the same people who believe in the earth goddess also believed in the end of the world and the other townspeople didn't believe it until this frightful encounter with a monstrous figure.
The shoppers, the clerks, and other employees stopped what they were doing after hearing a spine-chilling sound of an evil laughter filling the store and overcoming the special sales' announcements. The sound of an electric wave hit the people by surprise as multiple orbs of purple light appeared around them. The orbs transformed into Krakens and they soon began to place fear into the people and made them run out of the store.
Soon, everyone filled the big parking lot with cars trying to get out, people trying to get into their vehicles, and other trying not to get run over. Krakens began ripping and shredding the inside of the store to pieces. Abrus and her Shadow Knight appeared out of nowhere as they went from aisle to aisle looking for the leftover essence of an elemental scroll.
The Shadow Knight finally sniffed it out in the bathroom aisle. He stopped at the keys and locks section and examined it. "Madame Abrus!!!" He shouted. Abrus ran over as she began to smell the essence as well.
"Ah, it smells so beautiful!!" Abrus examined the keys and Shadow Knight began to fumble the locks. Abrus finally gave up and looked over the keys stand and saw a key glowing silver. She picked it up and hovered her hand around it. It glowed purple and so did Abrus eyes.
She began to see a vision of a boy with slim hair walking into a trailer park with two duffle bags. He looked around and made sure no one was watching him as he threw them into the nearest bush and pushed a small garbage can next to the opening so no one could see the bags. He then proceeded to a trailer and entered it ending the vision. "There you are!!" Abrus said.
__________
Blake stomped his foot on the brake of his green Toyota Camry. He stopped in front of a house that was across the street from Building Depot where he saw police cars flooding the parking lot with officers and special forces. They were just noted that a couple of monsters were seen in the store, but the officers didn't believe it until they saw Krakens surrounding the front doors.
Thump, Blake heard someone hit the back of his car. He looked at the side view window and saw no car was behind him. "Yo Blake!!" Blake jumped up and turned to his right. He saw Tyler grab his skateboard off of the ground and peek into his car.
"Don't sneak up on me like that." Blake said.
"Whatever, what's going on?" He asked.
"The police were notified of some people taking the store hostage, but they found out that there are actually void monsters." He explained.
"That can't be good."
"Yeah....."
"We gotta go, now!!"
"Wait!!" Blake hopped out of the car and placed a hand on Tyler's shoulder. Suddenly, they both heard feet stomping on the ground behind him.
Sofia's face was fiery red with her hands bald into a fist. She punched Blake and Tyler in the stomach as they both tumbled down. "Leave me again and your balls are next."
They both panted. "Yes ma'am." They said.
Blake used his car to pull himself as Tyler used his skateboard. "As I was about to say, we need to morph in the alleyway so no one will see us." Blake said.
"Sounds like a plan, lets do it." Sofia said. Before Tyler could have a say in anything. Sofia pulled him into the alleyway between the two houses.
They got into position while Blake looked down both ways of the alleyway to make sure no one was watching or coming down. He took out his scroll and the others did the same. "It's morphing time!!!" The three rings turned into the three golden gauntlets.
They slid their scrolls into their gauntlets.
Fire!
Water!
Earth!
Dynamic Trio! Start!
"Unleash the element!!!" The three teens raised their gauntlets as red, blue, and green lights filled the alleyway. The lights went away and the three teenagers were now in their ranger forms.
"I'm never gonna get over this." Tyler said.
"Come on, we need to help the police."
___________
" I SAID FIRE!!!" The chief yelled as he thrusted his finger downwards in anger and irritation. The officers had their guns pointed at the six krakens that covered the main entrance. Their hands were shaking and their aim was off as they shot around the Krakens.
The Krakens roared in anger as they rushed towards the officers. Some took cover behind their cars while others stayed and continued to shoot. One officer was lucky enough to get a bullet into one of them, but the bullet wound soon healed. The Kraken threw the officer over his car and onto another officer.
"For the love of Gaia." The chief took out his pistol and began firing at the Krakens that ran towards him. One of the Krakens swung its sword and knocked the pistol out of his hand. The chief was now surrounded by them with no one, not even his fellow officers and friends, to save him.
"AHOOO!!!" From the sky, Tyler came down with a fiery punch on the Kraken that stood in front of the chief. The kraken soon dissolved due to the impact of Tyler's punch on its chest. A Kraken to the left of him wiggled in fear. "Oh, you want next?" Tyler did a round house kick with a trail of fire following his foot. His foot hit the side of its face and the Kraken went flying backwards into a cop car.
Blake grabbed one of the Krakens, that were behind the chief, and placed its head under his arm. He did a DDT wrestling move so rough that the Kraken's face planted into the concrete ground. The rest of its body dissolved into purple sand. Another Kraken came at Blake and swung its sword. Blake dodged the attack and grabbed the Kraken's legs and flipped him over. He stomped his head into the ground until it dissolved.
"Dang Blake---uh Green Ranger, I'm starting to think you have anger issues." Tyler said as he clawed his last Kraken. Blake just puffed and proceeded to his last Kraken while Sofia was just getting started.
She swept kicked one of the Krakens and elbowed it in the gut. She twirled her body around in a fast way to get up as she jumped off of another Kraken's chest and landed behind the third one. She pushed her head towards its back and a shark sound came out of her scroll as a shimmering shark bit into the Kraken's back. With her strength, Sofia threw the Kraken into the air with the teeth of the shark. The Kraken landed on the other side of lot as Sofia did a final claw slash on the final two.
The three rangers regrouped in front of the chief. "Thank you...who are you three?" He asked.
Blake cleared his throat. "We're the---"
"Power Rangers!!" Tyler finished.
"Power Rangers?" The chief chuckled, but soon stopped at the sight of more Krakens coming from the back of the store. "No, there's more of them!!"
The three rangers got into their fighting stances. "Maybe one of us should've went from behind the store." Sofia said.
"Yeah..." More Krakens came from inside of the building and now they flooded the entrance and exit of the parking lot. "There's too many of them." Blake said.
"We should use an elemental technique." Sofia insisted.
"What? No way!!"
"Blake, it's our only chance." Sofia said.
"No, using a trio technique is tough and you guys didn't even master the solo ones." Blake said.
"Blake, its now or the officers and the chief are dead." Tyler said.
Blake hesitated for a minute, but sighed and took out his scroll. "Fine, let's do this."
Sofia and Tyler nodded their heads as they took out their scrolls. "Let's do a final attack!!"
"Fire Technique!!"
"Water Technique!!"
"Earth Technique!!"
"Final Attack!!!"
Blake's legs glowed green, Sofia's arms glowed blue, and Tyler's whole body glowed red as they flew into the sky. Blake came down first like a missile as he hit the ground and rock pillars pushed the Krakens into the sky. Sofia came in slashed them all with water wave projectiles that came out of her arms. Finally, Tyler rolled up into ball as he lit up and flew towards the Krakens. He hit them like a huge fireball and destroyed them with purple sand falling from the sky. The three rangers landed on the ground and nodded their heads as they ran into Building Depot.
__________
The inside of the store was a complete mess. The items and objects were thrown off of their shelves, all the aisles were disorganized, and even cash registers were opened. Sofia tippy toed threw the messy floor.
"Man, it seems like they were attacking this place for fun." Tyler said.
"No, they're looking for something." Sofia said.
The rangers proceeded to the back of the store where the outdoor furniture was ripped to shreds and the destroyed barbecue grills were the ground. An umbrella fell down as Sofia jumped. "This place is so creepy!!" She shouted.
"Oh if isn't the three kids in colorful suits." The rangers turned to their left and saw Abrus and her Shadow Knight. Sofia saw that Abrus was holding some sort of bronze key.
"What do you want Abrus?" Tyler asked.
"Well, it's pretty obvious, world domination. I want to turn this world into my personal playground."
"Why don't you just go to a public playground...like other kids." Tyler said. Tyler and Sofia laughed while Blake rolled his eyes as Abrus placed on an angry face.
"I don't have time to deal with you three." She said. "So--" she snapped her fingers and the Shadow Knight began to walk towards them.
"You guys deal with the Shadow Knight, I'll deal with Abrus." Tyler said.
"What gives you the right to give us commands?" Blake asked.
"I'm the red ranger, remember?"
"Tyler, you're gonna get yourself killed." Sofia said. "I don't want to see your body in an nonliving state again."
"Don't worry, i'll be careful next time." The Shadow Knight finally reached them as Tyler went between its legs and ran for Abrus. The Shadow Knight swung its sword at the two rangers as they ducked and Sofia punched it.
"Ow!!" Her left hand dangled as she backed away.
"Regular punches won't work, SABER SWORD!!!" Blake's left hand glowed green as a sword appeared in his hand. He swung it and slashed the knight in its chest. A green glow remained from the attack in the knight's chest. "As I thought, thank god for books. Sofia summon your saber sword."
"Alright." Sofia shook her hand back to her control. "SABER SWORD!!!" Sofia's right hand glowed blue as a sword appeared in her hand. She went straight for the knight's legs while Blake continued to slash the knight's upper body.
Tyler finally reached Abrus as his fist lit up with fire. He swung and Abrus dodged it as she teleported behind him and push him across an outdoor couch with the palm of her hand. "I don't have time to deal with you, red ranger. Farewell!!" Abrus snapped her finger and disappeared.
The bronze key fell out of her small pouch and landed on the ground. Tyler jogged over and picked it up. "Final slash!!!" Sofia and Blake raced towards the knight as they stroked him twice in the chest with their swords. The Shadow Knight tumbled down and soon began to shimmer as it turned into purple sand.
Sofia exhaled. "God, it's finally gone."
"Guys, Abrus dropped a key and is it glowing silver or am I high?" Tyler asked. Blake and Sofia walked over to him and Blake yanked the key.
"Oh my god!!"
"What, what is it?" Sofia asked.
"Whoever had this key had one of the elemental scrolls." Blake said.
"So that means...."
"Abrus is tracking down whoever has that scroll and there's no telling what she might do to that person." Sofia said.
"Then we just have to find it first." Blake took out his scroll and flashed at the key. The glow of the key reacted to the scroll as it faded away. "Do any of you know who or what this key belongs to?"
Tyler examined the key and his eyes widen. "Yeah....I do. I've seen it before...it's a key to a trailer."
___________
The boy opened the door to his trailer as he let out an irritated sigh and closed the door behind him. He jumped into the cushions of the torn down couch. He let out a small groan like he just got off of a night shift and slapped the back of his head. Suddenly, a beeping sound came from his back pocket. He took his phone out of his pocket and looked at the caller ID.
He sighed and answered the call. "Hello?"
"You have a call from.....Pacific City Prison Facility...would you like to accept?" The voice asked.
"Yes...." the boy rubbed his eyes. The other side of the line began to beep as someone finally picked up the phone. "Hey mom.."
"Hey Jax, how's everything?"
"It's good." Jax yawned. "How's everything over there?"
"It's...better." Her voice cracked. "The girls...have warmed up to me and now I'm part of their group."
Jax raised an eyebrow. "You mean gang?"
"It's not that!!" She shouted. There was a moment of silence. "So, are you sure everything's ok?"
"Yes everything's ok---"
"Oh really? Because I saw on the news of robberies happening around the town." She sighed. "You're doing it again, aren't you?"
"I'm doing it---"
"Don't answer that, they're recording my call." She sighed again. "Whoever is doing this, I hope they stop because I'm sure their mother doesn't want them to become some run down robber."
Jax rolled his eyes. "And I'm sure whosever this is that's doing it...it's because their mother really needs the money."
"Jax..."
"Goodbye mom, I'll see you soon." Jax hung up the phone as he threw it across the trailer and sat up. "Don't worry mom, I'm gonna make the people who framed you pay!!" He began to grin with eyes darkened with purple.
