I Really liked how bittersweet this entire chapter felt because every reunion carried this quiet feeling that the protagonist no longer fully belongs in the world he once called home. The visit with Tee’s grave honestly hit the hardest for me though, especially the image of the lion cub rubbing against the skin because it made the grief feel painfully real and unresolved. I also loved the conversation with Barlameth since it expanded the reincarnation and inherited mark idea in a way that made the world feel much bigger and more tragic at the same time. But the Nala scene genuinely stayed with me the most because you could feel how badly he wanted to reveal himself while knowing he couldn’t. The line about her still missing him after all those years was honestly devastating.
