The way you wrote the office monotony with the "boop click click click" of processing papers and Jo's relentless thought experiments about hot dogs and jellyfish creates a surreal, almost dystopian atmosphere, and the twist that Jacob and Jo are simulations being tested in a convergence algorithm, with Tess and Mark as operators, recontextualizes everything, and the dialogue where Jo responds to "screw the parrot" with a literal explanation of figures of speech and then writes a quicksort implementation when Jacob mentions "algorithm" is both funny and unsettling, and the failure message "observer presence confirmed" suggests the simulation became aware of being watched.

I absolutely loved the way this story keeps you second-guessing reality, my favorite part was the sudden switch into the “RUNNING: convergence” log scene, because it felt so tense and technical while still tying back to Jacob and Jo’s weird little banter. The twist lands hard, and I couldn’t stop reading :))
