A New Childhood at His Maternal Grandparents’ Home

Kabir’s father began to worry deeply about his young son. He realized that this child, who had been deprived of a mother’s love and care, needed an environment where he could grow up surrounded by love and security.

After thinking carefully about the situation, Kabir’s father made a decision. He sent young Kabir to his maternal grandparents’ home.

After going there, Kabir seemed to discover an entirely new world. His maternal grandfather, grandmother, uncles, aunts, and other relatives began to raise him with love, affection, and care. Although it was impossible to completely replace the love of his mother, the affection he received from his maternal family made his childhood much happier.

Surrounded by the peaceful village environment, green fields, the love of his family, and a simple way of life, Kabir gradually grew up. In this way, the important years of his childhood passed under the love and affection of his maternal family.

When Kabir reached the age of seven, his maternal grandfather enrolled him in the first grade at a primary school near their home.

New books, new notebooks, and a new school environment—all of these were new experiences for Kabir. Every day, he went to school from his maternal grandparents’ home and continued to grow up in the village while pursuing his studies.

From first grade through fifth grade, Kabir continued his education while living at his maternal grandparents’ home. The affection of his grandfather, the love of his family, and the simple village environment became deeply cherished memories of his childhood.

Thus, little Kabir, who had been deprived of his mother’s love, gradually grew up surrounded by the affection and care of his maternal family. His journey in life was still a long one—and along that journey, many new experiences and struggles were waiting for him.
