永寧三年春，蘇懷清十四歲，在蘇府後院的書館裡，遇見了寄居府中的質子蕭玦。

他沉默寡言，眼神深得像一口井。她教他彈琴，對他說：「出人頭地後，回來找我。」他沒有回答，但臨別前夜，他站在月光下對她說了三個字：「我會的。」
