And when He finally came to save them all, there was no one left to save.

He was too late.

And those who had believed in Him were left deeply wounded by the painful truth that they had never felt heard.

For if His gift was meant to be goodness, why, when the sun had finally set, did He not release even the smallest ray of light?

He allowed His followers to plead until their voices broke, until, one by one, they lost faith—

in His power, in His presence.

And the final question that settled in their minds was this:

Was He ever real?

If He truly loved us, why did He leave us alone with our own thoughts, until we came to believe that if He were real, perhaps our burdens would not have been this heavy.
