Liam stood in front of the huge building, jaw dropped. His coarse, blue hair swaying at the edges as the cool breeze brush past him, faling guiltlessly into his blue eyes. His bag and entry form forgotten in his arms. It felt like a disturbing dream from which, in fact, he didn’t really felt like waking up. He was so lost in admiring his new school, the Bhutara Lyceum, that he was unaware about the people he nearly bumped into, earning some confused glances and annoyed glares. “Hey! Watch your step!” A deep growl shook off his thought. He turned to face a taller boy, whose eyes were fixated on his entry form. He had jet black, sleek hair tied into a man bun. His glasses highlighting his void-like, sharp eyes. “Uhm.. Oh! I-I am sorry. By the way, could you please tell me where to submit this?” Liam held out his entry form. The boy took it smoothly, his eyes scanning the details. “Liam hmm? Come with me!” With that the boy began walking off, as if expecting Liam to follow. Liam was slightly taken aback and kinda surprised by his commanding, authoritative tone but didn’t dare reciprocate. He soon fell into steps behind the boy, half trotting to match his large strides. “Uhmm… If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your name?” He was half panting as he asked it. “Jaemin. Lee Jaemin.” His voice was of that tone that could be felt in bones rather than heard in ears. “Oh! So, you are from the east!” “Hmm…” Jaemin’s cold, controlled answers made Liam a bit self-consious and slightly embarrassed, almost getting a feeling that he was behaving like an annoying chatterbox, for no reason.
Soon, the boy took him to a small, neat, organised cabin. At one corner, stood a girl with her back to the door, rummaging through the pile of files. The hem of her wavy black hair brushing her waist. “Surya…” Jaemin called out. The girl turned, her hair swaying at the hem. She wore a bright red outfit and matching boots. Her face was undeniably Indian. She seemed to be going for a war instead of school. Only then did he, in fact noticed Jaemin as well. He was wearing a navy blue suit, not some random uniform. “New admission.” Jaemin handed Liam’s entry form. The girl, Surya, checked the details. “Liam Matthew. I see… “ She muttered as if to herself. She checked through a file, flipping through the pages. She clipped Liam’s entry form to another pile. In a while, she slammed the book shut and muttered, her gaze fixed on Jaemin. “Room 108.” Jaemin gave her a curt nod.
The interaction seemed impossibly formal to be that between two school mates. As he followed Jaemin, he asked, “Does everybody behave like this?” Jaemin raised an eyebrow, “Like what?” “As if they are talking to a stranger.” Jaemin gave a soft chuckle, the first humanly gesture which, for some reason Jaemin found relieving. “Not really. It’s because she is the head girl. Requires a bit formality. Besides, you don’t really wanna mess with a red blood Hmm?” “A red blood? Am I hearing wrong? Or does it really seem I’m stupid? We all have red blood. What do you mean?” Liam was now getting frustrated as he felt as if the boy was speaking some unknown language. Jaemin chuckled again, which turned into a hearty laughter. Liam was visibly annoyed. “What’s there to laugh about?” He snapped. Jaemin shook his head, smiling, “Nah… Nothing… A red blood here refers to a person worshipping sun.” Liam stared at Jaemin, confused and amazed. “Worshipping sun?…” He repeated under his breath. “Jaemin?….” A voice called out. 10Please respect copyright.PENANAaKrTp0JrLM
