P and Hanabi stared at the guard who was staring back at them while they placed one foot each out of the exit into the balcony. The balcony remained in tense silence for a moment.
The shocked guard immediately returned to his senses. He instantly tried to move backwards to give distance between them while he was reaching out to lift his gun while he shouted to alert the rest guards in the rectangular duplex built around a central open-air courtyard and has a first and last floor which was the second on the ground:
"Escap..!!!"
But before he could complete his sentence and tried triggering the gun, P instantly moved along with him, covering his mouth while grabbing the gun facing upward which fired multiple times—"Ra ta ta ta ta ta ta ta ta"—alerting everyone in the building. P then released his left hand from the guard's mouth and punched the guard's neck that choked him heavily, while P hardly bent the lead guard's left hand that held the gun painfully, making the guard release his hands from the gun and hold his own neck with both hands because of the choke. Then P grabbed him, turned him around, taking him hostage facing his left side of the rectangular balcony.
"Get behind me," he said to Hanabi with a commanding and calm serious voice.
Then he started moving sideways and backward at the same time to the right side of the building while Hanabi stayed behind his back, tight gripping her dagger and holding her grenade. In that same time, two guards hurriedly and immediately came out from a room at the left side of the balcony, immediately pointing their guns, but P also reached out and took out his gun with his left hand, shooting at both of them as they all fired at each other. P shielded himself from the bullets with the body of the guard he took hostage and was shooting at both of them.
Meantime, Hanabi was disturbed by the gunshots but was alert and turned to the right, seeing shadows of guards who were coming up the stairs into the balcony of the upper floor.
"Behind you!" she yelled.
P, done with the two guards, immediately turned with the dead guard's body in his arms as a shield, shielding Hanabi with his own back while taking some bullets which hit the dead guard's body and shooting back at them. Hanabi stayed alert, looking behind her left, which spotted four guards armed with machetes and knives running towards her from afar. Immediately turning her head to P, she noticed two rooms in the balcony across the courtyard, and the doors were opening a little. This could be a problem for both of them since they could shoot at them from across.
"Quick, turn!" she yelled immediately.
Two guards immediately came out of the width of the balcony at his left before him, but P immediately turned to them as they stepped out and shot them one by one as they both came out, and immediately turned back to the guards who were shooting at him from the stairs and started shooting at them. In that same time, two guards each came out from the two rooms across the courtyard.
P, who immediately ran out of bullets and noticed this, jumped, then heavily kicked the dead guard in his arms that sent him flying towards the guards on the stairs, and grabbed Hanabi's right hand and dragged her forward ahead of him towards the floor. At the same time, the dead guard's body fell heavily on the guards who seemed few in numbers, pushing them backwards down the stairs.
The guards across the courtyard immediately opened fire at P. Reacting before Hanabi even fell to the ground, he already took the grenade on her right hand with his left hand and let go of her hand while she hit the floor. Using the force he used to pull Hanabi forward, he jumped quickly and swiftly, turning while unpinning the grenade, and tossed it at the firing guards at the other side of the courtyard balcony, then landed with the spin with his left leg on the ground while his right foot was up.
But before his foot could land, "Yaaaaaaaaaaah!" the first of the four guards had already lunged at him, raising his machete with his left hand, followed with an explosion on the other side of the courtyard. P immediately reacted and caught the guard's incoming left hand with his right hand, then hardly kicked him, smashing his face with the landing spin kick on the left wall hardly! The guard screamed in pain by the impact of P's right foot on his left face.
The guards on the stairs already started to come up, which P noticed while the three remaining of the four guards were already almost close to him. He turned the dizzy guard from the wall to his right side towards the direction of the stairs while taking away his machete with his left hand, and kicked him towards the guards who were coming up the stairs as the second of the four guards attempted to stab P from behind—which he dodged, only getting his side left back sliced—while the first guard fell with a heavy force on the guards on the stairs, pushing them backwards again.
Hanabi on the floor raised her head forward and noticed a grenade rolling before her. She blinked.
P turned, giving the second guard a Taekwondo kick to his chin, sending him up, then he kicked him on his side right off the balcony and down into the courtyard. He quickly gained his balance while there was a sudden explosion at the stairs that destroyed it completely along with the guards in it. This was Hanabi's doing, as she smiled in amazement that she pulled that off, then her face instantly turned into a wait-what-am-I-even-doing expression.
The third and the fourth guard came lunging at P. The third one came jumping in, landing an attempted kick to P's face which P blocked down with his left arm, while the fourth came in with his hands raising a machete up to strike P down, but P weaved it to his right. The third came in with a spin kick with his left, but P simply intercepted forward, dodging the kick slightly to his face, and smashed and grabbed him by his balls, lifting him up! He turned and smacked the fourth guard with the head of the third guard right off the balcony and down into the grassy courtyard with bits of snow on it. The fourth guard passed out mid-air before hitting the cold grass.
Then P smacked the third guard's body very hardly and forcefully onto the ground, knocking him out—it seemed so to P, but in reality, the guard had died right there.
P then dropped his body, standing up straight, and stretched his body and neck with both hands on his waist. "Harrrrhhh," he sighed with relief and a lot of exhaustion, then glanced forward and saw Hanabi sitting on the side of the wall as if she was waiting.
He walked towards her then stood looking at her. Hanabi was just facing forward at the other side of the courtyard and didn't turn to face P, acting like he wasn't even there.
He crossed his arms. "You blew up the staircase, didn't you?" said P like a dad asking his little daughter a question before judgment.
"Yes, I did it," said Hanabi while still looking at the other side.
He breathed out. "Then that's great, I even thought of that," said P while putting both hands on his waist.
Hanabi slowly turned and glanced at him with disbelief. "You did....." she said slowly, turning her head.
"Yes, I did. There's another escape route on the roof," said P as he pointed up.
"How do we get up there, and why the roof?" said Hanabi, curious.
"Well, it's our only option to survive. We can't remain here, they are coming," said P calmly as he heard the voices of more guards downstairs.
"Quick, bring the ladder over here!" a guard shouted below.
P started walking towards the width of the building room at his left in the direction of the stairs. "Follow me quick," said P, walking past Hanabi. She quickly got up and followed him.
They both went into the room and saw a ladder leading to an opening in the roof. P grabbed the left of the ladder and stood beside it, then stared at Hanabi.
"Ladies first," said P as he raised his right hand up the ladder.
Hanabi looked him up and down like what is he trying to do. "No, you go first," said Hanabi, nodding her head upward towards the ladder.
"What kind of woman are you? I saved and protected you and this is how you repay me?" said P with a seriously? expression.
Hanabi looked at him quietly. It's true, she said in her subconscious. Then she turned and held the ladder, about to climb it. "Don't have any weird thoughts while I climb, in fact, don't even look up behind me until I'm on the roof," said Hanabi as she started climbing.
He then smiled and looked down. "I thought Asian girls were flat, what else is there do I have to look at anyway," said P, talking based on random words he’d heard from anywhere.
She looked down at him frowning. "Hmph, you don't even know anything," she said as she turned her head and climbed out onto the roof.
Immediately she stood on the rooftop, her eyes widened. "Snow...." Hanabi said surprisingly as she turned backward to see the sunset and dry lands behind her. It appeared that the building was built right on top of a very high mountain; she looked forward and could see trees on snow far below her from the mountain peak.
"Okay, let's do this," said P, rubbing both palms of his hands together while standing beside Hanabi, breathing hard.
"Do what?" Hanabi said, shocked and frightened as she turned to P.
P looked at her then blinked. "Jump, of course," said P nonchalantly.
Hanabi looked at him, her mouth slightly open, then she closed her eyes, breathed, and opened them, glancing at P before lunging to hold his shirt tightly. "Then do you mind if I used us as a landing shield?" said Hanabi.
"Sure," said P with a smile.
"You are insane," said Hanabi with shock. She sighed, then looked down at his shirt and noticed bloodstains. He had been shot up to 4 or 5 times, with a raw blade slice cut across his back. She looked up at P, worried. "Are you okay?"
"I'm completely fine." He looked down at his injuries and pointed at them. "You see this? Just forget about it. What matters is us jumping down this mountain."
Hanabi knew that P was in a lot of crucial pain and constant bleeding, but he was behaving like he was completely fine. She could see him grit his teeth as she looked at him.
P looked at her. "Do you trust me?" said P with a calm, serious face.
"Yes, but I don't. The feelings are mixed, but... I will trust you this time," said Hanabi, nervous.
P looked at her then smiled.
"But if I ever were to die, promise me you would shield me from it because it's your idea by the way," she said, pointing at him seriously.
"I'm not too good with promises, but I'll try," said P.
"Quickly get them! Over the rooftop!" a guard yelled as more guards climbed up to the rooftop. But when they broke out onto the roof, they spotted no one.19Please respect copyright.PENANAT2wX2J6UCo
