He ducked.

Mei twisted, redirecting the axe into another sweep. A dark cutting attack ripped across the spot where P was about to land.

P had already moved.

He seized a customer couch with both hands and hurled it at Mei.

The couch smashed into her, sending her crashing to the floor.

Mei grunted. She rolled with the impact, planted her feet, and sprang into a low, feline stance, axe ready.

Across the store, Miu kept firing.

P darted between arrows, weaving past shelves and debris as she pursued him.

He reached a refrigerator, gripped its sides, and tossed it at Miu.

He was already in motion.

Instead of escaping between the two attacks, he let his upper body fall backward, his back settling against Miu's outstretched arms, the very arms holding the dagger.

His momentum carried him into a backward roll along her arm and over her shoulder.

"HM?" Miu's eyes widened.

He slipped past her and landed behind her just as Mei's axe came crashing through the space he'd occupied.

Miu's eyes widened.

Mei's expression changed as she realized what was happening.

Neither could stop in time.

Mei's axe swept toward Miu while Miu's dagger lined up with Mei's approaching body.

For one instant, the two sisters were about to strike each other.

Miu's body began to vanish in a flash of blue light.

She teleported away.

But a fraction too late.

Mei's axe carved a deep wound into Miu's left ankle before she disappeared.

Miu was gone from the attack's path.

Her own attack had nearly killed her sister.
