Suspended in midair, Miu fired.

BANG!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡgMYpOyXY33

P leaped forward.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡkW6LIEG1lT

The blue-electric projectile tore past the back of his head.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡs4qOelmb5l

BZZZT— POW!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡOKMabUizo6

It struck the ground behind him, electricity crackling across the pavement.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ08HPMwc7e3

P hit the ground, rolled forward, and rose onto one knee.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡxTP8e444A3

At the same moment, Miu landed on the roadside far behind Mei, near the pavement, cracking the ground on impact.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡQF6ONm0V9R

She turned to aim.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡijmmaPQBVj

WHIISSH...

WHOOSH

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡEimzH8uxHV

After one roll, P noticed Mei's pupils narrowing into slits.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ0gfJvjUgGb

Both her hands gripped the axe she'd first swung at him.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡRjrAkRfpKd

His eyes flicked past her — Miu was lining up a shot.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ78L7R4MxTV

P tapped the ground.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡg6gKl1t64m

TAP!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡr4pfXW8SQh

WHINCE!

Mei's eyes slit!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡBvKGUYkxtA

Miu pulled the trigger.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡvhCHZBkqS2

BANG! BANG!....

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡPh2QKKPqqL

Mei struck at the same moment.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡGAvHTILOk6

WHACK!

Her cutting attack landed!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡk0cPskxTj4

"Huh?" Mei thought, confused.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡrYx7GehPMl

It hit nothing but empty space.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ7qeUFqUamZ

WHIISSH!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡcjumUhtTTs

P was already airborne.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ68b9kNPXr7

Looking down at Mei, he watched the two bullets strike the spot he'd just left.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡTl4LXFXBkp

POW.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡdTdQoNhqmN

POW.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡihEiHOMiUa

CLACK!

She tossed her rifle aside.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡNhSwGUk34B

"He disappeared in a second," said Miu.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡqw0jGHHQpx

BZZZTEEEW!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡc3o9qcx47n

Two small dimensional rifts opened beside her. She reached into them and pulled out a quiver of arrows and a bow.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡLNKUn5PUCe

"He's not a normal human," said Miu, and gave chase.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡFcjcNznMwR

TAK! TAK!

TAK....

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ10Aa4OS0NN

CLENCH!

Mei tightened her grip on the axe.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ6ts0k17TMA

"I couldn't track his movement," said Mei.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡZYPUFjBrtV

TAK! TAK!..

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡwIfHCfMghd

Both women took off after P, into the busy street.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡVj58EeYeB8

TMP. TMP. TMP...

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ1CAnlbXc72

"GOD-DAMN!" P ducked, dodging Mei's axe.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ7jBSH9XN4V

FWHOM-

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡhkfDOoluVj

*"They won't stop,"* P thought, tilting back.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ6PsAj3quzz

He dodged an arrow that whistled past his head.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡaB5MoF9Ezc

*"Chasing me!"* P thought.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡnIgN37sLEc

He sprinted down the busy roadside.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡw3t8bkvKHW

TMP! TMP!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡQZ2CMt4Hxh

TMP! TMP!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡurdGSWxaue

VROOOOOOM—!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡoLBGn8w60C

Cars and trucks roared past, pedestrians strolling the pavement, completely unaware of the three people about to turn their peaceful afternoon into a disaster.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡgDpztz9Oyn

WHOOSH—!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡjMa05aLbqH

An arrow flew past P's head.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡPVQNucfjS9

"JESUS!" P exclaimed.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡbhXdO4gnNP

"ARGGH... MY LEG!" a pedestrian shouted.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡA2OIpmF1XP

"GET OUT OF THE WAY!" P shouted, shoving a man aside and sprinting past.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡR7sRpAEz8d

"HEY! WHAT THE FUCK—?!" the pedestrian yelled.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ7b3le13BYB

P ducked.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡhiGiPm91ks

SHING—!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡKMPOJHf8Ob

Mei's axe sliced the air above him, narrowly missing.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ1XRfQdaq3L

KRAAASH—!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡx6Tu1MYOcA

The blade struck a signpost.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡfRSeH1uiXO

"GET OUT OF THE WAY!" P shouted again, smacking one pedestrian aside and shoving past another.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡgFZQN3QO1f

"OI! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!"

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡVtn1CYjDYu

"WHAT THE HELL?!"

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡvFax5bijxv

P ignored them. He had bigger problems.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡtMtYXh8rxb

"THAT BASTARD JUST PUSHED ME!" a pedestrian shouted.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡjXo7Bzw269

"YOU SON OF A BITCH!" P shouted back, pointing.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡRiZs24kuQn

"Fuck you!" the pedestrian shouted.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡL4fkhJurxa

TWANG!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡeAs7i5OnfE

Another arrow streaked toward him.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡrka0FnhT0i

P tilted his head.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡcpAHnL8YSF

FWOOSH!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡWOW6ou6NWp

It grazed his hair before burying itself in a utility pole.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡwfgDdelBeH

Behind him, Miu ran with her bow raised, eyes calmly tracking his movements.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡI5LkdJcynS

*"He's running so fast — if we really wanted to, we could catch him instantly, but..."* Miu thought.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ23sOozMyx1

*"We've already slowed ourselves down to a normal human's pace, and he's still outrunning us..."* she thought. *"Feels a little unfair."*

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡi1h2R8F9j2

She recalled the moment P flipped through the air, dodging both Mei's slash and her bullets.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡm7pdK1RxjQ

*"He can't be human,"* Miu thought.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡHN2K8Jgx58

Mei raced beside her, gripping her enormous axe.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡH5hawkLUc3

"MIU! DON'T HURT THE HUMANS!"

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ55Xi0zqCA6

"I know," Miu shouted.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡK4iJD9O1VP

"THEN WATCH WHERE YOU'RE SHOOTING!" Mei shouted.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡBJEUyXni5d

Miu glanced at the arrow lodged in the pole. "...Understood."

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡRMDkghk7Yz

She drew another arrow.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡCalr3UHLzQ

P glanced over his shoulder.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡF7rt3co8vN

"SHIT!"

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡjYe8ZIqatd

WHOOSH—!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡRW9PAY6n7X

Mei swung.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡJj7G7qWgFT

P ducked beneath the blade and cut direction sharply, leaping onto the hood of a passing car.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡLWXuosHCZs

THUD!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡXCkqffOtLd

"WHAT THE—?!" the driver shouted, slamming the brakes.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡbKrHqyW3RY

SKREEEEEE—!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡWBIjyJwYS5

P ran across the hood, up onto the roof, and jumped onto the back of a delivery truck.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡphMFIgCiW8

BAM! BAM! BAM!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ6Rgq7Sx35w

He sprinted across the truck's roof as it swerved between lanes.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡYCsVFjEKvw

The driver leaned out his window. "GET OFF MY TRUCK! YOU NIG-GUH!"

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡA0nOYuUG0s

P jumped.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡtX9Cxjc01d

WHOOSH—!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡZVrAiYM6cH

CRASH!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ8t3pX2a9mo

He landed on the roof of another car before leaping to the pavement.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡaX46rYNniP

"MY CAAR!" the driver cried out.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡz9W8pegXJU

"Soooow-rrrrry!" P apologized, still running.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡzIqT1kKQcR

Behind him—

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ9pVvcsoVxv

BAM!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡE9QJwbcpsq

Mei landed on the delivery truck's roof, denting the metal under her boots, and launched herself after P.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ2pQanUeiW1

Miu followed, landing on a nearby car's roof with far less noise.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡMurma3mnfm

"HEY THERE!" the driver called out to Miu through the window, calm and sweet, while his wife glared at him from the passenger seat.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ6u35Pgpjik

He noticed her glare just as his vision was suddenly blocked by—

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡbBEeZU6oBC

SLAP!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ9EBJUU4C53

TWANG!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡyRBDUBzpMH

An arrow shot toward P's back.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡcUzS2pAtiZ

He twisted aside. It missed, striking a traffic light's support pole instead.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡryhcfrDEBM

CRACK!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡikFs0sUoRT

The pole tilted dangerously.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡupxuYAQdvV

Mei eyed the damage. "MIU!"

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡLu1KoRepOu

"It missed him," said Miu.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡPzwOxCCylr

"THAT'S NOT THE POINT!" Mei shouted.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡCRkcV3tNI6

P darted between two cars.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ0jHrIM5xtQ

HONK! HONK! HONK!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡRhRhNYSRYt

A truck swerved to avoid him, its rear end slamming into a parked car.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡf8XKNA0cdz

KRAAASH!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡdtvDmi9p2o

Glass scattered across the road.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡCB42yvucJi

P didn't look back. He crossed the remaining lanes, leapt over a fallen motorcycle, and reached the far pavement.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡnPSQ15RWRp

TMP. TMP.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡB9YEdxKV4l

TMP. TMP.....

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ0food2wFa3

His feet pounded the pavement as he ran toward a row of buildings.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡbsMhw690pT

A woman carrying shopping bags stepped right into his path.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡtwvrHD6P1t

"OHH!" she said.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ3Fti3FJWji

"Excuse me, mam—"

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡOZq213M6kW

P grabbed and moved her aside, kept running.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡWcjp4YNOV5

Behind him, Mei landed hard, cracking the asphalt beneath her feet.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡdEcl24Nh5f

TAK!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡS2vc3UOE2b

Miu landed beside her. Both resumed the chase.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡKOLiSF40c5

Mei raised her axe.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡcyeIRK7xkG

SHING—!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡN2GUygPhBj

A dark, curved slash tore through the air.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡVwY3Vwj0FY

P ducked. It passed over him and sliced clean through a shop's awning.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡuMKh8OzCvM

KRRRRAAASH!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡuNi30yinEC

He suddenly cut left.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ5hzBX0Hasl

WHOOSH!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡkxbfonWElU

Crossing the pavement, he headed straight for a convenience store, its glass entrance dead ahead.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ8kkGi5Pnqz

P didn't slow down.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡpjxmDxs4Ug

KRAAASH—!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡDzX63eJKvB

He burst straight through the glass door.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡXs1CZf0mJM

The store owner jolted up from behind the shelf, shocked and furious, unsure how to react.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡVLc9MRtKvy

"FUCK YOU, NIGGA!" the Japanese shopkeeper screamed as P came flying toward him.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡwDxlDIfeMc

P grabbed the counter, but it toppled onto the owner instead.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ4kyWgP3f9a

BAAAAAAM!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡNFFS52hhM0

"UGHHH— MY BACK!" the owner shouted.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡabBnKtVCx2

Snacks, products, and plastic containers scattered everywhere.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡr66rRKYEhI

TMP. TMP...

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡCkfLmDWwap

P sprinted for the black door at the back of the store.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡufS4PDJfXb

Behind him—

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡJ3L6qUFi8L

KRAAASH!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡaFdS7l9XAH

Mei and Miu burst through the shattered entrance.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡYryqsdZUwC

Mei's eyes widened as she spotted the collapsed counter — and P.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡWl089Hb0Qq

"Shoot him!" she shouted.

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡEN0uPiR6oV

BOOM- KRAAASSHCK!

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡZBvZ9GQjsO

P burst through the door—

28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡvZNo9VleiM

but the next thing he saw was a small balcony, and a railing...28Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ5TAToKWEO2
