Inside the royal palace, an even greater tragedy had struck.
Queen Astrid Freydis of Norðheim, the beloved Queen of Nordhavn and wife of King Hakon Valdrsson, had died during the war.
The news shattered the king's heart.

Haldor immediately stepped back.

King Hakon closed his eyes.
Haldor continued,

"You must remain on the throne."
After several moments of silence, King Hakon finally spoke again.

"It is not only because of your mother's death."

"I dreamed of conquering Skjoldvik."
"I believed I could unite these lands and end this endless hatred."

"I lost the woman I loved more than my own life."

"I wish to spend the rest of my life remembering your mother."
Those words pierced Haldor's heart.
Everything suddenly became clear.

His voice echoed throughout the great hall.

"Heir to the Kingdom of Nordhavn..."

"I will conquer the Kingdom of Skjoldvik."
"I will fulfill my father's unfinished dream."
