Stephan didn’t let her finish. He pulled her against him and took her mouth for a deep, devastating, sunny kiss. Amber put her arms around his slim waist and caressed him languorously. She wanted to feel his skin against her palms. But Stephan pulled them apart and gazed at her pensively.
«So in my arms, you’re even more radiant than in all your other moments.
He took her hand and pulled her into the temple.
«Come with me. I know a place with an even more stunning view of Ilios.
«Is this where you went as a child?
«Yes, I was.
Infinitely pleased by these extraordinary revelations, Amber accentuated the pressure of her fingers intertwined with his and let him lead her wherever he wished, as long as they were together.
The minutes that followed were the most beautiful Amber had ever known in her life. She finally understood her mother, who had given up everything to follow her love to the farthest corners of the world, even leaving her own little girl behind. Unrequited love and a growing passion for one and only one was the source of timeless joy.
Amber almost fell over several times, but supported by her prince, she easily managed to right herself, and every imperfect moment was gratified by joyful, delicious kisses. They shared these timeless moments without artifice or worry, for their decisions had been made. Stephan made his way a few more meters through boxwood and ruins, when they came to a stone staircase. They climbed it and found themselves on a half-collapsed terrace. Putting an arm around the girl’s waist, they admired the breathtaking view of Ilios.
«Stephan, it’s beautiful. Thank you for bringing me here.
«So show me how grateful you are, darling. It’s an obligation.
She turned in his arms and, after a moment’s hesitation, wrapped her arms around her prince’s powerful neck, before holding out her lips. Stephan placed his, but went no further. Amber understood what he wanted from her. So she set about kissing him herself. First she licked the contours of the prince’s lips, then painstakingly forced them open. He finally opened them, but remained passive. Amber explored this stubborn cavity as far as she could, but no doubt thinking the sadistic test had lasted long enough, Stephan pulled back the glowing hair and took full possession of the trembling mouth. The muffled moans the girl uttered were more than enough of a confession. She choked all the more when she felt a revealing, intoxicating hardening against her belly.
«Haven’t I already told you to wear a skirt when we’re supposed to meet up?
«But you’ve never told me that...
Stephan smothered the rest of his feeble protests in his mouth.
He soon unbuckled the waistband of her pants, and introduced his caressing hand to the bottom of her womanhood, spreading the sweaty, impatient petals, and penetrating them insistently, performing a torrid back-and-forth. Amber arched her back against the large, angular body, undulating against it, until a raging burn responded throughout her fevered body. Unable to stand on her own two feet, she had to fight back against him, clinging to his shoulders and burying her flushed face in his intoxicatingly male-scented neck.
«Did you like it?
Amber nodded, too moved to speak. He kissed her hair, her forehead, then her closed eyelids before moving down to her mouth.
«Now we’d better go.
Amber lifted her head sharply and looked at him, consumed by a sudden concern.
«Really? But why? We’re fine here.
«I know we are. But one day we’ll have to come back to Earth and face reality.
He described their situation again, using his mockery.
«Stop mocking me. I’ll hate you if you make a mockery of what we’ve just been through.
«Of course not. I really must get back to the mainland and solve my uncle’s case. And you, darling, are going to find Nicholas and cut your story short.
Pouting but resigned, Amber nodded.
Stephan laughed at her dark, rebellious expression, and gave her a sweet kiss while arranging the girl’s clothes.
«Please, baby, don’t look like that. I promise you, next time I won’t stop, and worse, I’ll mess you up so bad you won’t be able to walk for long.
Turning scarlet, Stephan laughed out loud at her rich expressions, before taking her hand to climb down.
While the Efaestion Theodakis affair made the headlines in Europe, causing the clan to suffer horribly, not to mention the journalists who harassed them relentlessly, and the gossip that bled the family’s intimate reputation dry, Amber was soaring in the skies, dreaming of a sensational reunion with the president of Zotov Enterprises.
And so, with her unshakeable faith in her prince, Amber was unsurprised to learn that on the morning of the third day, another piece of marvelous, liberating news supplanted Efaestion’s atrocious condemnation. Her associate and close friend, a certain Theos Léonides, was in fact the planner of the victim’s murder. His aim was to get rid of Efaestion, vice-president of the huge company, stain their name and obtain this position, with the hope that with the help of this scandal, the price of Theodakis shares would gradually fall, so that he could buy them for a pittance and become majority shareholder. Alas, despite his excellent plan, the partner had left behind evidence, very slight but flagrant, which immediately condemned him.
As soon as the case was publicly resolved, and Efaestion Theodakis cleared of all suspicion, a big party was organized within the powerful Theodakis clan.
At last, Amber felt her burden disappearing. She decided not to break things off until Nicholas’s uncle was finally out of the terrible situation into which he had been slyly thrown. But in spite of everything, her gestures and manner, too polite to the point of coldness, towards her fiancé, had already somewhat revealed to him the end of their relationship. She was already no longer wearing the ring, having removed it on the pretext that it was hurting her, and in a way she hadn’t lied.
Amber was particularly meticulous in her preparations for the evening.
She decided to visit Athens with Helena Theodakis, Nicholas’s mother, to buy a new dress with her. The young girl knew full well the reason for this almost visceral need to look sublime for the evening. And when she saw the dress glinting through the glass, lit by the morning sun, she knew it was made for her.
When she tried it on and stepped out of the fitting room to admire herself in the mirror, she was dazzled by her own splendor. The dress made her look like an undine, beautiful and ethereal. The silk of the dress was a blue of various shades, with the dark predominating, and the top was supported by an extraordinary mess of glittering threads, while the bottom flared out into various layers of taffeta that moved like pure water with the girl’s every movement, vaguely revealing her perfect body and enriching the fantasy of any normal man.
Helena Theodakis also gazed at the young woman’s idyllic picture with pensive eyes, but of an entirely different nature to Amber’s.
