After leaving their room, Yang Bin began searching the dormitories one by one.
He'd always been curious about what the Girls' Dormitory looked like. Always wanted to come up and see, never got the chance.
Never imagined the apocalypse would be what finally got him through the door.
He'd assumed the Girls' Dormitory would be cleaner and tidier than the boys' side.
He was wrong. The mess here was worse than anything the boys had managed.
Of course, some of it might have been the zombies' doing.
But the bras and panties scattered across every floor were still a bit much for his eyes.
And the styles-those were expanding his worldview. Were girls these days really this bold?
Yang Bin smiled bitterly at the scene before him, then got back to rummaging through the underwear-strewn room for anything edible.
He came up empty.
Just as he'd expected. Any food that had been here was long gone, picked clean by others.
Yang Bin searched several rooms in a row. Same story every time. Plenty of random stuff-he even found a single birth control pill-but not a crumb of food.
He sighed. At this rate, they really were going to go hungry.
The entire fourth floor turned up nothing. He moved to the fifth floor, searching room by room. All he found was a single pack of chewing gum, and only because he'd activated his ability to spot it hidden in a jacket pocket.
"The hell? How did people clean this place out so thoroughly?" Yang Bin muttered.
When he reached the sixth floor and was about to continue searching, he noticed something different. One door was locked from the inside.
Yang Bin activated his True Vision Eye and looked through.
Four girls stood inside, gripping iron pipes, staring at the door with tense expressions. They'd heard his footsteps.
The pipes in their hands were stained with blood. They'd killed zombies before.
Their room was relatively tidy. Snacks were piled on the beds. If he had to guess, these four were the reason every other room in the building was stripped bare.
Seeing this, Yang Bin knew there was no point going up to the seventh floor. Nothing left to find.
He thought about it for a moment, then didn't approach. Knowing the food was here was enough.
They'd eaten at noon and weren't starving yet. With their current physiques, skipping one night's meal wouldn't matter.
If they still couldn't find a way out tomorrow, he'd come back and "borrow" some food from these girls. Shouldn't be a problem.
He memorized the room number, turned around, and headed back downstairs.
Inside the dormitory, the four girls heard the footsteps fade and let out a collective breath.
"Not a zombie?"
"Doesn't sound like one."
"A person, then? But there's no one left in our building."
"Could it be those guys from downstairs earlier?"
"Impossible. How could they still be alive?"
"Nothing's impossible. They charged into this building through hundreds of zombies. Surviving after that isn't exactly a stretch."
"If it really is them... what do we do?"
"Nothing. If it's really them, and they want to have their way with you, you spread your legs and cooperate. None of us have the right to resist people like that."
"......"
"Don't think I'm joking. Without the law holding people back, anything can happen."
"Fine. But he didn't come over. Maybe he didn't notice us?"
"Every other door on this floor is wide open. Ours is the only one shut tight. You think he didn't notice?"
"Then... why did he leave?"
"No idea. Just be careful, everyone. Hide the supplies."
"Mm."
"Qingqing-jie, how are they so strong?"
"If I had to guess, they're what the authorities are calling Tier-2 Evolvers."
"Tier 2?!"
"Mm. Surviving a siege of hundreds of zombies-only Tier-2 Evolvers could pull that off."
"I can't believe our school already has three Tier-2 Evolvers. Those taekwondo club guys on the campus forum keep bragging about being the strongest team in school. If they ran into those three, they'd get wiped out in seconds."
"Remember-if they come back, don't resist. Staying alive is what matters."
"Mm."
Yang Bin returned to the fourth-floor room. Hu Wenliang was still out cold. Chen Hao sat on a bed scrolling his phone. Little Orange was curled up asleep.
"Bin-ge, how'd it go? Find anything?" Chen Hao asked as soon as he walked in.
"More or less. Four girls on the sixth floor. They've got food. If we get desperate, we can borrow some from them," Yang Bin said.
"In this apocalypse? Food's the scarcest thing there is. Who's going to lend out food?" Chen Hao rolled his eyes.
"I have a feeling they'll lend it." Yang Bin wiped down the Barbell Rod.
"Uh... yeah, I think so too." Chen Hao nodded.
"Alright, let's rest. We've still got to go up to the Rooftop tonight to look at the stars."
"Mm."
"Oh, right-Bin-ge, the authorities just posted some data online. Zombie strength levels and human classification tiers."
"Oh? How's it broken down?" Yang Bin asked.
"Same as what you said before. Zombies and humans both ranked by Tier 1, Tier 2, and so on."
"Right now it's mostly Tier-1 and Tier-2 zombies out there. No Tier-3 Zombies have been found yet."
"According to the official numbers, Tier 1 strength is roughly 100 to 200 kilograms. Tier 2 is 300 to 500. Tier 3 is still unknown."
"So the authorities already have people at Tier-2 Peak?" Yang Bin frowned.
"Obviously. We're out here swinging iron rods. They've got machine guns and artillery. No comparison."
"True. They've got an overwhelming edge in that department."
"Mm. The internet's flooded with posts about crystals now. Plenty of people have gotten crystals and powered up, but even more have died trying."
"Makes sense. This whole apocalypse feels like a mass culling. Who knows how many will be left standing at the end." Yang Bin sighed.
"Yeah."
"Oh-Bin-ge, the campus forum's blowing up too. We've become a hot topic." Chen Hao smiled bitterly.
"From that look on your face, I'm guessing it's not flattering?"
"Nope. Those guys from this afternoon spread rumors. Saying we're Killing to Steal Crystals. The whole campus network is calling for our heads."
"Hah. Should've just finished all of them off." Yang Bin's voice went cold.
"Do they have our info?"
"They do. They described what we look like, and then our beloved class monitor helpfully identified us by name." Chen Hao's bitter smile deepened.
"......"
"That guy's always had it out for us."
"Forget it. Let them talk. These people haven't tasted real cruelty yet. Once they do, they'll realize how gentle we were."
