Monday, the class was walking on the blacktop.
I was walking with Gabriella, and we were talking about what middle school we want to go to.
Gabriella and I wanted to go to Johansen Middle School, a school for geniuses, but we didn't want to go to Johansen for that reason. I wanted to go because I heard that they had a really good theatre program. But of course, Gabriella wanted to go because of this boy that she liked.
Gabi never told me what this boy's name was, but i'm very confident that she was talking about Jupiter, my friend from last year. Jupiter is a year older than Gabriella and me, but he used to go to Cardinal Elementary, the school I attend currently.
Gabriella also told me that she and this "boy" exchanged numbers, and that he hasn't texted her since.

Fast forward to two days later, Gabriella and I are walking outside together again. I'm not boy-crazy, but all of my girl best friends outside of school love to talk about the huzz.
"We should have a codename for 'him.'" I suggest.
"How about 'C' as in 'crush'!" Gabriella answers (not very creative, but you do you!)
While we walk, out of the blue, Gabriella says, "I wonder if any boy really likes me."
I nod, not knowing how to respond.
"Last year, it was Charles who really liked me, but now, he likes Layla." Gabriella continues.
I thought for a moment. I didn't really care about any boys. In fact, the only boy i'd consider my friend in Cardinal is Luka, Riley's twin brother.
"Y'know," Gabriella says. "Luka was talking about the 6th grade dance. He was wondering about who was going to ask him."
Then, Gabriella started laughing.
"But who would ever ask a computer-nerd who talks too much!?" Gabriella giggled.
