FOUR DAYS BUT NO word from Jimmy led Penelope back to his doorsteps. She took a cab from the station and having paid the cabbie upon their arrival, hurried to his door. Her knocks provided no answer so she turned the knob and to her surprise, the door opened.
When she saw him, she was devastated. He literally looked like a madman; his hair was scattered in a way that, for all its oddness, perfectly matched his dull expression. She never knew he could ever look like that.
When he looked up and caught sight of her, he lolled his head.
“Jimmy!” It was more than a scream. She ran to him and grabbed his face.
“What the hell happened to you,Jimmy?” She panicked.
He released her grip on him and stared.
“Now get up and put on some clothes,” She instructed.
He shrugged.
“Just do as I say, okay?"
He nodded and was soon dressed in a with his hair tousled. They went to a restaurant and she ordered snacks and juices for them.
“Why did you return?” Jimmy asked. “Why don’t you guys just quit?”
“Mr Vlad has been sacked since last October and Mr Roy is now Chief,” Penelope started. “He has been a good boss. Very reliable.”
“Why are you telling me all this now?” Jimmy asked.
“Look Jimmy we need you even though you don’t know,” Abigail pointed out.
“Well I don’t need you guys,” Jimmy replied stiffly, looking away.
“So are you gonna ignore me again, after depriving me of the due care because of what happened?” She asked. “Tell me Jimmy. Tell me.”
He didn’t answer. He had long stopped blaming her in his heart but he felt guilty.
“Fine. If you can’t do it for me, do it for Abigail. Who knows, you could find out the culprit and the real truth.”
Jimmy turned to her swiftly and she grinned.

Mr Roy sat expectantly forming a steeple on his desk and leaning forward muttering prayers when the two people he expected walked in. He sprang up and cried. “ I am so disappointed you eventually decided to come “
Jimmy raised an eyebrow. “ I.E?”
“ Ironic Expression.”
Penelope laughed.
“ You have not changed a bit, Mr Roy. You still use your initials for that?”
“ You have not changed either,” Mr Roy answered. “ You still have your heart. I feared you wouldn’t come!”
Jimmy glanced at Abigail. “Well, you sent the right someone and that someone got my weakness straight on point.”
Abigail smiled and Mr Roy gave her a thumbs up.
“Now I’m here. So what’s the deal?”

THE FIVE OF them sat round the table; Mr Roy, Penelope, Jimmy, Neil and the ever arrogant but smart Batton.
“We are glad to have you back here Jimmy. We can’t hide our joy,” Mr Roy started.
“Well I don’t think it’s everyone,” Jimmy said, glancing at Batton. “But don’t worry, this is the last mission. I repeat Mr Roy, the very last.”
Batton scoffed and shrugged. “I don’t care.”
But he did. When Jimmy was still at work, they were both competing for the best. Jimmy was always far ahead and that was what spoiled their relationship. Earlier they had been friends. In fact, Batton was the one who talked Jimmy into being part of the SF and now he regretted it. Just when he thought he had no competitor anymore, Jimmy came strolling in and receiving praises. Ill-made relationships, they say, were hard to cut off.
“No scuffles now please,” Penelope intervened and turned to Mr Roy. “Please begin.”
“So what’s the SF gotten so far?” Jimmy asked, deliberately taunting Batton. “It can’t be nothing since we have a smartie here.”
“Of course it isn’t nothing. May I do the honour of sharing the information?” Batton looked in Mr Roy's direction.
“Sure,” Mr Roy replied.
Batton turned to Jimmy with a grin.
“Without your help, the SF found out that there is going to be a party at the leading hotel ballroom in two days and there will be an exchange of USB where a vital information we must get our hands on is,” Batton started proudly. “We also found the safe where the USB will likely be kept that night. So I don’t see any reason you were invited back.”
Jimmy returned the grin.”Well, I don't know. Maybe it’s something important that you are so useless to do. How about that?”
Batton flushed angrily but kept his calm.
“That is where you will come in, Jimmy. So far your record has never been beaten,” Mr Roy said. “You are all attending and participating in the mission but we need you to do the most dangerous part. Getting to the safe.”
Jimmy chuckled. “So you brought me in to pass a death sentence to me?”
“We are all under a death sentence passed unto us by God but we don’t just know the day of execution,” Neil said.
Jimmy turned to him. “So you are acting the pastor now?”
Neil shrugged.
“You know something Neil, I will use your words against you someday,” Jimmy said and turned to Mr Roy. “So who’s the receiver?”
Mr Roy turned to Penelope.
“He is Mr Lewis, a multi-billionaire. An old money, his family is into glass,” She explained. “Our latest conclusion is that he is only a mere sponsor of the upcoming massacre and that is because he will make a profit from it.”
Mr Roy completed the explanation. “So we need five people for this job; the thief, the pickpocket, the seducer and two guards.”
“How about we do it this way? I will be the thief, Penelope will be the seducer, and Neil along with Batton will be the guards,” Jimmy suggested. “As for the pickpocket, I 12Please respect copyright.PENANAWjE2t4yvax
have someone in mind.”
