The bell chimed the end of the last period as Eilara Moore stood to gather her books.
"These are the assignments," Mr. Li, the math teacher called. Her best friend Lily looked distracted as she waved and left. When Eilara left the school gates, she noticed that the air was heavy, choking her, and the sky was pressing down. She gripped her bag as she slowly moved forward. Her watch had promised her it would be sunny and hot, but the wind was so sharp it left a deep scar on her cheek. Tears dropped from her eyes as the pain moved its way inside her. It tore at her skin, and she dropped to her knees. She felt a warm drop of blood drip down her cheek.
"What’s happening?" Eilara shouted, but her voice was swallowed by the eerie darkness. Paper cuts don't normally hurt like that. She forced herself to stand up but immediately regretted it. Eilara rested her head on the wall and tried to breathe. She wanted to just go home...
Wait, why was she here? Eilara gripped her bag again, so hard her knuckles turned pale. She tried to think back. Who is her mother? What did she look like? She couldn't remember her math teacher's face, only a pair of crimson red eyes. Where was she? She squeezed her eyes shut and reached deep into her memories.
"I've been expecting you to come sooner." A harsh, disembodied voice hissed.
"Who?" Eilara demanded. The voice pressed in from every shadow and every corner. Her blue eyes scanned her surroundings.
"Restrain her!" The voice boomed as claws and jagged ropes bound her legs and wrists. She turned, but before she could run, a sweet smell blurred her senses and everything faded to an inky black abyss.25Please respect copyright.PENANALPWxoNe8MS
